I thought this was gonna be a thorough answer to a question I’ve had for a couple of years now. You came so close but then stopped. Who has a magnaride suspension anyways? Isn’t this video kinda aimed at rich people who just pay for fixes rather than learning? My question is this. Why would a car which might have a relatively firm suspension, say a ChargerRt, Magnum RT, or 300C, have been more smooth in the past, but seems to ride more stiffly and almost see, to bounce over certain bumps, yet the shocks pass every “bounce” test, and there are no visible leaks at all? The car may still ride at spec height, and visual inspection revalues nothing out of the ordinary, and when pressed the car bounces once or 1 1/2 times, every time, but definitely seems to have progressively become more and more harsh over ALL bumps. Why? Could it just be that the very first inch or so of shock travel has no damping effect? As in, the first little bit of travel is quickly met with the full stiffness of the spring, with little or no “smoothing” of the spring’s upwards force acting upon the chassis? Another way to think about is this. If you remove the shocks altogether, the car would bounce a lot after each bump, with no shock present to dampen the oscillation. But could it also ride more harshly? Would the springs, without damping, feel harsh? Even though I have a lifetime bumper to bumper warranty on my car, the dealership claims the shocks are fine, I’m guessing because they don’t see any leaks. But as far as I can tell, with no record of such in my 17 years of records, and the car only being serviced at the same dealership, which is also where I bought the car, it seems the shocks are the originals, and the car has. 190,000 miles. They even replaced the rear springs after I complained about clunking from the rear, yet I know they were fine. The dealership said that one was 1/2” below spec, even though the car sat dead level. They had to replace both to keep them evenly loaded. But not the shocks. It has been a challenge to say the least. Other vehicles of friends and family I service myself and I have extensive experience with such, but with my car, I do service it in spite of the warranty, as they have made certain things like pulling teeth, but I don’t want to change them myself if I’m barking up the wrong tree, and if I don’t get a better ride I will be sorely disappointed. It’s not rosy memory either. The vehicle definitely used to ride better than it does now. It almost feels like there is no suspension movement at all over small bumps, so it ends up being quite jarring, while bigger bumps get swallowed up decently, and the tiniest ripples aren’t felt at all, with a nice smooth ride. So something is definitely wrong, and I was so hopeful that the reason WHY worn out shocks MIGHT cause a harsh ride. That’s all, if they could do this, why?

What about calibrating the system after installation. Does the computer automatically do this
New cheap " AC Delco magneride struts" are stiff on the speed bumps. Hopefully it's in a learning phase
