What you experienced is pretty normal even in Europe, go out and film people everyday anywhere in Europe and you will get same incidents happening, you will always find a person who’s not happy to be filmed, snatch the camera ….etc. there is lots of videos like this in UA-cam. Because some people doesn’t like to be filmed despite the law allow it. Watch Auditing Britain for example, even police abuse the law and arrest people for just filming.
It’s a part of life, when you hold a camera while walking expect some people won’t agree with it, nothing to do with been a tourist.
And no they will not kick you or beat you, will never happen in Morocco, they will argue as much as they can and this is the farthest they will go.
While arguing people can hit along with it because it doesn’t leave any evidence, fighting is an offence and people won’t risk their comfort to end up in jail.
