There are cohabitation laws in place, meaning you don't even have to be married in order to get a part of your property seized in a separation case. Alot of celebrities are the same way. It's not just Gene, albeit he should be an example of being grateful towards everyone who helped him achieve his status. One rock star I've heard of, King Diamond, is the exact opposite. The guy has strange beliefs, but he always takes even a minute or two out of his schedule to shake hands with a fan, or sign an autograph. Plus without his makeup on, he could easily pass for a mechanic who fixes motorcycles for a living.
