Candy Apple Red Factory Bigsby Telecaster
1971 Fender Telecaster (Factory Bigsby)
A rare custom color 1971 factory Bigsby Telecaster that weighs just 8.30 lbs. and has a nice comfortable nut width of just under 1 5/8 inches and a scale length of 25 1/2 inches. Solid alder body and one-piece fretted maple neck (with a skunk stripe) with 21 original medium frets and inlaid black dot position markers. The neck profile is consistently medium-to-thick all the way up the fretboard starting at 0.86 inches at the first fret and gently rising to 0.95 inches at the 12th fret. Individual Fender "F" tuners with octagonal metal buttons. Headstock decal with "Fender" logo in black with gold trim, "Telecaster" in black beside it, and two patent numbers "2,573,254" and "3,143,028" beneath "Fender." Single "butterfly" string tree with large nylon spacer. Four-bolt neck plate with large Fender "F" logo and serial number "325904" between the top two screws. One plain metal-cover pickup (at neck) with an output of 6.81k and one black six-polepiece pickup (angled in bridgeplate) with an output of 6.05k. Three-layer white over black plastic pickguard with eight screws. Two controls (one volume, one tone) plus three-way selector switch with black plastic "Top-Hat" tip, all on metal plate adjoining pickguard. Chrome knobs with flat tops and knurled sides. Fender factory 'floating' bridge with six 'ridged' saddles and factory Bigsby tremolo tailpiece. The neck is stamped in black "3 OCT 71B" and the pots are stamped "137 6632" & "137 6636" (CTS, July & August 1966). The Candy Apple Red finish is bright, fresh and unfaded. There is some light finish checking and some honest wear to the body, predominately on the sides. There is also some belt buckle rash on the back but this has not gone through the finish. Overall this rare custom-color guitar is in excellent (8.75) condition. Housed in its original three-latch Fender rectangular black hardshell case with black leather ends and red plush lining (9.00).
lolol he played Funk 49: he's officially christened himself into the host position now
Love it! Looks like frettedamericana is now uploading weekly instead of once every two weeks. You're a good player, Jared!
Great job Jared! Love your style man, keep on rocking!
I swear i seen this dude at a campfire in northern Ontario... Fuck ya dude!
hes no phil x...but hes growing on me...he makes me take a deep breath and slow the pace down a notch
I like it! I know that's a fun guitar to play! Yes indeed, your a fine player sir.
That is one beautiful guitar, one of the best sounding I've heard in a long time. Love Jared's style!!!
I play guitars without using a pick, now I have one more guy to look up to. Way to go Jared!
The way Jared puts his chin into his playing it reminds me of Johnny DeMarco. ;)
I love the way Jared rocks out on every note! Great demo...
Jared is awesome . WHY have I not heard of him before?
I like him and Phil X equally, but for different reasons.
I'm amazed at both of their skills on gits.
I bet Jared's got some badass callouses on his picking fingers.
Ahhh a nice bit of frettedamericana inspiration! Thanks!
Great job, Jared and Dustin!
Awesome Tele, nice color, nice tone and Bigbsy! I love it :)
Fine guitar and fantastic playing!
i like jared.. but i skipped out on work to catch phil x play the guitar world parking lot in mississauga he will forever be my fav
great playing man, ZZ Top sounded awesome!
Being a 1971 model myself, a 1971 Tele is my official dream guitar - and still kind of affordable, LOL.
Last time we saw a factory bigsby on a tele we got to see how Phil did the string skipping Hotel California arpeggio section he does. One of the top 10 most viewed vids on the channel if I'm not mistaken.
no. 6 as of right now actually.
Will Smyser quality trivia
Tele neck pups are some of my favorite. The DiMarzio Twang King neck got quite a few comments from the guy in my town who put my warmoth tele together. Said it was something really special. I like the bridge Twang King for what it is but I get that it's not the most mind blowing thing.
great playing! thx
Love this guy! Nice to see someone rocking with bare fingers instead of a pick.
This guy fuckin rules great album too
loved it!!!
Sweet Axe....Good job Jared
Phil X...the King of E. JJ Nichols...the King of A! LOL love it!
Hey frettedamericana, in a few years when JJN blows up and can't do the videos anymore call me....I'll cover G
I'll be honest, I thought it might be weird watching these videos and it's not Phil. But it's not at all, Jared is awesome.
I heard a little Jerry Reeds Amos Moses in their.
that thing looks bad-ass with the bigs.
jared is awesome, but, i miss phil... wish they both on FA
Damn! All these things are older than me.
That Tele sounds really hot !!!
Unbelievable player
Jared and Telecasters rule!
Good vid!!
those 3 bolt telecasters suck, give them to me
It's a 4 bolt
i heard it just like you
You missed the joke Steve.
I have implied dibs on those.
I'm building a three bolt telecaster. had a three bolt neck lying around it truly is a beautiful neck
My birth year! GIMME!
Jared can play!!! Needs to learn the first verse to LaGrange. Rock on.
ok hes gonna make any guitar sound good. tidy. man
Damn, that sound from the neck pickup... (1:50-)
Yes, Jared...was that Ten Years Gone?
When gets off tour let's have him and drill's with JJ Nichols. Dueling guitars?
everyone bitching about whos hosting the video. guitar has me drooling over my keyboard
There's the Joe Walsh baby.
Awesome tone! How are you recording that marshall? I don't see a microphone on the cab
Jared is awesome but it'd be cool to see Phil again ... or both. They'll probably do both of them at some point
The Stones!
Love your style mate ...Just got to know do you tear your fingers up when you dig in??
how does jared get that pinch harmonic at 8:30 with his fingers!!!!! ive been trying for an hour to no avail
SURF!
What happened to Phil X?
jwflammia He's on tour with Bon Jovi.
I don't really like Teles but there are some guitar you can't not like!
You know what? I'll start playing the guitar without a pick right now!
i like more jared than phil!!! keep it up jared!!!
Hi Jared . Not sure of the year or model of Tele that Keith Richards prefers to play but were the neck bolts changed on those as well ? Great sounding Telecaster.! Keep up the good work .
Keith has several teles in different tunings throughout the Stones career but Keith's most famous tele he got from Eric Clapton on his 27th birthday is none other than the famed '54 tele he nicknamed Mcawber.. He didn't change the bolts but he did swap out the neck pickup for a PAF humbucker and the bridge pickup for a lap steel pickup. He also removed the low E string and tuned the guitar to an open G tuning (low-high: G - D -G - B - D). Mcawber made its debut on the legendary Exile On Main St. sessions and still continue to play his battle scarred tele with The Stones today
Very cool ,thanks Tim ! I'll definitely listen a little closer to Exile. Interesting info for sure .
This is a guitar demo, so why don't you show the guitars in the thumbnails?
Love Jared, but I know how he looks like since his first video on the channel...
bla bla theyvshoot multiple guitar demos in one session.
...awesome. LoL!
what about featured episode with phil and Jared together?
What's the tune around 1:55?
Wrong room, wrong guy #Nostalgia
What's he gonna say when he has to sell a 3 bolt. Put himself in a corner. He's a badass, though.
Samr shirt again? :)
they record a bunch of videos on the same day, so yea thats why.
know man. was a joke :)
That's a fantastic sounding tele.
This Tely need more power from amps!
Jared please offer skype jams!!!
Where's the baaaand?
jared ate them for lunch
is the x the x now ??
i got nothing to say really creatively so i need to overact my personality. love philx and this guy but it's a part of who they are to me.
I like Jared's style of playing better than Phil's. Granted, they do play a lot of the same songs, and they both clearly grew up listening to and playing a lot of classic rock. I think Phil is still funner to watch.
La Grange sung tenor. naaaahhhh.
You can tell Jared isn't really into teles
Great player, but dude's photo looks like Weird Al Yankovik...
Not enough E power chords!! You gotta be like Phil.
