Hey folks! 👋 This was the last vlog we made before Auckland went back into lockdown. Hope you enjoy it. Let us know if you've got hidden gem recommendations for us to check out in NZ for when we can travel again ☺️👍 Stay safe and take care everyone ❤️🌻
Hey guys. Really enjoy your videos every week. Have you spent much time in the Naki? Amazing scenery, beaches, mountains and waterfalls. Haven't been on the lost highway but I hear it's epic. There's Tongaporutu beach which is where Elephant Rock used to be. There's still the Three Sisters there. Dawson Falls is a very easy walk from the carpark and then of course there's Mt. Taranaki. Beautiful coastal walkway around New Plymouth. The lighthouse on the west coast. Lots of Maori history around that area as well like Patea. Could easily spend a few days there.
Been to the Arataki Visitor Centre and it is pretty awesome, with some great views. I will have to use the track next time I'm in Auckland (post lock-down). Thanks for exploring so many great places around this beautiful country we live in. :)
Yo Steve thank you so much for the awesome recommendations 🙌 we were planning to go down to Naki around spring cause I hear Mt Cook will have cherry blossoms 🌸 will check out a bunch of your places too while we're there. I used to visit the area a lot cause my auntie and uncle were from new Plymouth 😁
West Auckland is my area where I grew up.... Massey/Henderson are. Those Sammies look amazing as.... my sons favorites meal. Piha, we pretty much hit up every summer with all the family, touch footy and some cricket. That walk looks amazing, and and those views! Don’t no why I’ve never tried it.
Thanks for dropping by and leaving us that comment Johnny 😊 🤙you're totally right us kiwis are blessed with an amazing country to live in. Take care and hope things go back to normal soon 😊
Thanks for watching James 😁👍 yeah we unfortunately had to cancel our trip to Mt ruapehu cause of lockdown but it's all good. 🤞 it gets lifted next week
Thank you Aaron ☺️👍 💯 Can't agree more! Positivity and kindness is what the world needs more of and probably now more so than ever. Stay safe and take care 👋😁❤️
That is a crazy amazing view! Don't think you could ever get used to it! 😍😍And even more beautiful views on the hike! Peter you're brave for sitting there LOL
In NZ there's a lot of beautiful sights and best of all many of them are easy to get to and often free ☺️❤️ truly blessed! Lol thankfully lots of "butt room" so was a relatively safe cliffside ledge 😆👍
The edge of the cliff where Peter was looked treacherous! Nice that it was warm out and the waterfall looked amazing! What is the latest with the lockdown @Auckland? Where are you two planning to go next?
That part was all good.. we got nervous later seeing in the distance someone climbed over a barrier to walk onto the ledge to take a photo @.@ that kind of risk we wouldn't take 😅 we're still in level 3 lockdown here in Auckland til this Sunday. Next Monday back to level 2 as long as nothing unexpected happens so we're not too sure where to next as we were hoping to do the South Island but kinda want things to be a lil more certain first 🤞 maybe try do a few day trips around or just out of Auckland first! 😅
Yes New zealand is a picturesque journey everywhere you go, that view down really what makes you appreciate life hey.. Huhu tasting like peanut XD haha - i think ill skip that , when Yen says your gonna do a walk around there im already woa.. thats a big loop around lol
I think traveling around New Zealand in general gives us a real appreciation of how lucky we are to be in such an awesome country 😊 dude if you come to NZ you are so trying a huhu grub if we can find one 😂
Hello Peter and Yen, That toasted sandwich looked yummy and the visitor centre wow, I enjoy that kind of activity. I started laughing when I thought those lizards changes colours and Nek Minnit “no they don’t” 😂 I would be puffed out walking to and from that walk too Yen 😂😂😂 Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Stay safe and God Bless always & Thank you for taking us along ♥️♥️
😁 happy Sunday aunty.. the lizard 🦎 could have used some better research 🤔 😅 hahaha yen definitely has been slack with her exercise over the last couple of months. Thanks for watching and we always look forward to seeing your comment ❤ have an awesome week ahead!
Hi Peter and Yen! 😊 I really enjoyed this week's video again! Those sandwiches you got at Jemima's kitchen looked so good 😋I can imagine you needed it though with all the walking you did! I especially loved the scenery at the end where you were sitting on top of the sand dunes of karekare beach! 🏖️It seriously looked like you were sitting in front of a painting! 🤩
😁 ello Laura 👋 yeah the scenery here is unreal and even more amplified during sunsets 🌇 😍 add that in with good food and yup that's everything you could need. Very lucky to have grown up here 😊
The area I grew up , Glen Eden .. full of memories . The old Nolas and the fish stop Caravan that was there back in the 90s . Would always go there with the parents . Never forget good old Glen Eden 😀
🏝 😊 🏖 a nice beach ⛱ 😎 and a magical waterfall 😁 makes for a perfect day out would have been even better in summer when it's warm enough to go for a swim 🏊♂️ 😀
@@PeterandYen Hey guys, I'm sure the vids will still be choice 👍. I need to remember to eat before I watch yr vids - that toasted sammie was making me hungry and the worse thing is I'm currently on a carb free diet, and this is my first week arrrrrrgggh 🤣 I ended up skipping the eating bits. I can't wait to get out and explore locally, but I'm definitely planning to do day trips once I'm working again. But as always, great videos guys 👍🥰
Delightful video and couple ! 13 minutes remembering my walks deep into the Waitakere Bush including reaching he highest point. Thanks for the memories. Have a Happy Life, you two. (from the village of Pucklechurch, England BS16 9PL).
Karekare beach looks stunning! Love the sunset as well! Wow! I can’t get over the view honestly!! Amazing blog once again! Can’t wait for the next one!
Thanks Alditha ☺️👋 the view from the top of that sand dune was so pretty! Especially coz the beach was almost totally deserted.. and probably coz it's a black sand beach too so looks more exotic 😍
Good video guys. Cool visitor centre. That waterfall looks bigger than the Hunua falls. Breath taking views of the Mercer Loop, and unfortunately I don't even know of it after having lived for 30+ years in Auckland.
Those trees at 7:07 are so unique. Peter you are a bit too close to the edge there... you're making us nervous. Being lost is part of it. Haha That is NOT a bit of a hill. 😝 Another beautiful trip guys.
Maybe a lot of a hill? 😅😂 All I know is I'm unfit and I struggled up that hahaha 😅 my mum got really anxious seeing the photos and videos of Peter on the ledge too but I was saying to her don't worry there was lots of "butt room" hahaha so pretty safe to just wiggle back and stand up again 😆👍
Hey Peter and Yen!! So great to see you guys back home in Auckland! Jemimah's Kitchen looks really cool, and love the sandwich press! Awesome they have a veggie option too! Love that cheese pull Peter!! That's a cool looking visitors center! The picture frames are so cool!! we feel the same way.. no matter where we go even in California, there is always something that's so beautiful and magical. That 3D relief map is so freaking awesome!! Good they make you disinfect the shoes. Wow.. that beautiful black sand beach is breath taking, and we wouldn't know where to film next! Bears gets so mad at Butters when she gets close to edges!! **WEAK KNEES** Those sand hills are not fun!! They have one along the Pacific Coast Highway in California that is a real bugger to clime!! What beautiful views from the top though!! Thanks for taking us for all the food and fun!! Love you guys to the moon!!
Hahah I wasn't expecting it to be such a struggle to climb that sand hill but I think just highlighted how unfit I am 😅😂 at least the sand was super soft and so nice on the feet 😆👍 the views was definitely worth it! So pretty and so deserted. Looked extra dramatic coz of the black sand too 😍 thanks girls and take care! 👋
Cool Trip, Awesome Video, Very well captured. Cool Narration. You have a Great channel with variety of interesting videos, .Keep going and All the best
Love it! As soon my son is a bit more fit for long-distance travel (as in: not complaining if a car ride takes more than 45 minutes), I'm coming back to NZ. Curious to see what will pass first: the pandemic or my son's impatience ;)
Sometimes getting lost is fun 😌 OMG that waterfall is incredible!!!! So beautiful!!!! 😍😍😍 No one around is the best for photo 😄 Yen telling Peter to be careful in this video like 100x hahaha!!! It's good to see once a while you fit people struggling with walking up hills, so that we unfit people can relate hahaha!!! 😝
Hahaha yen isn't really fit especially during winter we are a lot less active. So I like to tease her going up the hills and losing breath 😂 the whole area was pretty quiet because it's a weekday and winter 😊✌
Sup guys?! Always excited to catch up with your adventures. Angus beef sandwich sounds right down our alley. Love how the indigenous influences are celebrated in NZ. We need to do more of that here. You can't help to be amazed by beautiful nature, especially with those views.
interesting, never knew there was a contest for toasted sangas lol cheese looks so good! visitor centre fronts looks amazing! what a view!! Also the coastal view is beautiful! hahaha nice stick there pete! Yen you would be fit after this trip lol love NZ dark sand beaches! Yaaaayyyy yen you made it up the sand hill! epic final shot for the outtro. looks so good!
My belly approves of the toasted sandwich! I give it 10/put it in my face. Such beautiful locations and seems peaceful too. Great to watch, as always. Keep on keeping on, guys :-)
Those sandwiches looked so yummy. You two always find the best places to eat. The picture frame is one of the coolest things I've seen. That view almost looked green screened it was so beautiful. The waterfall is amazing. Lots of nice places to simply enjoy the scenery and enjoy the company you are with. Love to you both💕 Stay safe.
Hi Jen 👋 hope you've been well. There are a few of those picture frames ✨ around New Zealand and all of them look green screen hahaha 😆 the colors and scenery you see here often look so unbelievably beautiful. We're staying home since the lockdown but hopefully it's lifted next week 🙏
Wow the amazing views never end!! Didn't know I wanted to go to New Zealand until you guys started posting all of these videos! We live in Canada and even thought we have our own amazing scenery it's not as easy to drive around the country to see it all :p
Hey Jordie! How you been? Hahaha hope you'll add NZ to your bucket list 🤞 Just need to wait for when it's easier to visit here again though 😅 Canada looks like an awesome place. We'd love to visit there one day. Yea that's the thing with NZ that's particularly awesome. It's easy to get to many of these beautiful locations without much effort 😁✌️❤️
Peter and Yen hanging in there! A little stir crazy working from home 24/7 haha 😌 def New Zealand is now on the bucket list! Can’t wait to visit some day. Hope being back in quarantine is treating you guys well too 😂 looking forward to seeing what videos you guys come up with while stuck inside haha
I’m from Auckland west 😎thank you so much for this beautiful video, actually all of yours amazing videos Lucky saw u guys in Puhoi village, keep it up the great work.
Haha I just used scraggly a couple days ago...to describe myself to my wife:) Karekare Beach looks amazing! Not to mention, it reminded me of one of the first Filipino dishes I tried😋 Beautiful and peaceful vid as always! Stay safe!
😂 scraggly... yens word of the day. That beach is amazing especially since you're able to sit on top of the sand dune and watch the sun set 😎 so romantic 😂
The Mercer Bay walk looks really beautiful too! Love the views there as well, just breathtaking! Looks quite tiring though haha I need to prep for that!
Nice lil day trip! Those toasties looked so delicious 🤤 I love how there is so much to see in the Waitakere ranges. The Mercer Bay loop and Karekare beach and waterfall are some of my faves too! Can’t wait to revisit them someday! Thanks for another awesome nz vlog 😊❤️ Hope you guys are both staying well!
Thanks Lana 😁👋 It's awesome ay! What else do you like out in the waitakere ranges? I feel like we need to go back to see other spots too as can imagine there's a couple hidden gems there 🙂👍 hope you're well and take care too 💕❤️
Peter and Yen If you haven’t already you can check out Kitekite and go to the top of the waterfall too for extra views and a mermaid pool, fairy falls (has two paths, one with lots of stairs and an easier path), whatipu beach and check out the water dam too it’s pretty nice, oh and Muriwai beach with the gannet colony, also nice to camp at Muriwai in summer. Can’t wait to see what you guys get up to in future vlogs 😁!!!
I live in piha so I'm not really sure why I'm watching this haha! Looks like you enjoyed yourself! Next time you're around and things are open would highly recommend the local food in piha.
Haha thanks for watching Jamie 😁👋 we had an awesome time! Love how beautiful everything was 😍 Def keen to go back out west again sometime after lockdown 👍 Which food places do you recommend? 🙂
@@PeterandYen The cafe has a lovely veiw of the back of Lion rock for the whole cafe experience. Murrays is a Mexican takeaway shop on the beach. It's good if you want to eat on the beach. Both good for dinner and lunch. The local Bowling club, Rsa and Surf club are good for a dine in experience and to learn about some Piha history. At the bowling club you get a cheeky game of bowls in if you want.
This might be the first time I've heard Blockhouse Bay mentioned on UA-cam :). I'm waaay older than you but I grew up there too, late 60s - early 70s. Went to Marshall Laing Primary back in the day, family attended the Baptist church just down from the shops. Later moved to Mt Albert
ah food straight away looks nice now beautiful views ah yes geekos are normally coloured to the background they live in a walk through the pickles nice view at the end not sure great idea to sit on the edge of the cliff there great waterfalls there and now a beach climbing the sandy hill looked tricky *you got our like👍Au👍and a full view too*
🐊😁 the geckos were super cool. Never seen one in the wild in New Zealand. Seen plenty of skinks though. Very cool gonna watch out for them n the future
I'm a Westie myself and these beaches are absolutely fabulous indeed. There's tons of tracks...next time try the Comans track or Kitekite Track. You won't be disappointed.
Cheers for the suggestions! 👍 We were deciding to go Kitekite or Karekare that day so keen to go back again 🙂 Comans track looks good too. West Auckland scenery is mint 😁👌
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂👍 Ooo didn't know there were glow worms out west! Looked up the Hillary Trail and don't think we could survive that 😂😂 does look beautiful though, thanks for sharing 😁👍
My partner & I were here last week!! Would have love to bump into you guys!! Keep on the great work!!! You got my support 😁 Oh and keep them Jandals rocking Peter! hahaha
Aw thank you 😁❤️ Hope you enjoyed it too! Where did you guys go? Mercer Bay or Karekare? 🙂 We were there just before the Auckland lockdown 👍 Auckland is so small, wouldn't be surprised to bump into each other at some stage and if so please do say hi 😁👋 💕
@@PeterandYen We actually took a drive down the whole region! passed by Karekare but ended up doing the Te Henga walk 😁 Yes My partner and I love your work! Keep it going and if we ever do bump into each other, we will definitely say hi 🤟👋
Seems like that made quite a few people a lil nervous! It was a solid ledge though, nothing loose/rocky or too risky but if you're scared of heights prob best to keep away from it still 🙂👍
When yen said 'cheese string' I couldn't help but laugh ay 🤣 🤣 but another great vid once again I haven't been out west in a little bit I actually use to live out a there for a few years back in the day might have to take a little drive lol
Hasn't been judged and announced yet! ☺️ We're hoping Jemima will take out top spot then we'll have had the best toastie in NZ 😆👍🇳🇿 They were really yum 😋
hello i just want to ask because some of your vlog did you use a drone video, can i ask if did you take permit before you fly? just trying to het some idea or advice. thanks
Hi Jerald 👋 We use www.airshare.co.nz/maps to figure out where the no fly zones in New Zealand are. We always asked private property owners and businesses for permission as well as look out for no drone signs too. We've learnt that that sometimes isn't enough here though. You need to also avoid national parks and conservation areas so it's best to do a thorough Google check prior for special permits. If you're doing things for commercial purposes rather than just hobby I think you need special permits for that. There's many other rules too like no flying within 4km of aerodomes and you have to be able to see your drone at all times with your eyes etc. The airshare sight is a good resource. Hope that helps!
Even you guys have lived in NZ for almost your whole lives but you guys are still amazed by the view of NZ 😄 How was the temperature like in this video guys? Saw Peter with the thongs(jandals)and shorts again lolll 😆 Awesome vlog as always guys 👍🏻
Hahahaha yeah it's hard not to appreciate something so beautiful. And as we get older we find we just appreciate nature even more. Temperature around 10 degrees more than enough for shorts and jandals 😂
@@PeterandYen yeah nah! Lol. Was a awesome day and would of been perfect to head there if I wasn't hung over! 🤣 definitely still on the cards though!! Love the vids and the food reviews!! I love toasties!! 😁👍

Hey guys 🙂👋 how are you both? Those toasties were 😋👍 yea nz never fails to amaze us with her beauty 😍🇳🇿
The picture frame is super cool, haha yeah we need to get used ourselves with NZ views, that would be one of best gift ever!
There's a couple of those frames around NZ 😁👍 they're always in great spots!

Yaaaayyyy yen you made it up the sand hill! epic final shot for the outtro. looks so good!
Hahaha be honest Andy were you one of those kids that would pick up random sticks from the ground and wack stuff with it?
My belly approves of the toasted sandwich! I give it 10/put it in my face. Such beautiful locations and seems peaceful too. Great to watch, as always. Keep on keeping on, guys :-)
😂 the toasted sandwich 🥪 was amazing. Thanks for dropping by and leaving us a comment glad you enjoyed the vid 😁👍

Hahaha nah I think might just be me out of shape tbh 😂😂🤣
Oo yea kitekite.. we were deciding between there and karekare that day lol 👍🙂 thanks for all the recommendations! 😍😍 Gonna have to note them down!
@@PeterandYen *can get a cheeky game of bowls
Sweet! Cheers for the recommendations 😁👍
Absolutely stunning!!!👌
Right! Such a short distance from the city too 😁👌
This might be the first time I've heard Blockhouse Bay mentioned on UA-cam :). I'm waaay older than you but I grew up there too, late 60s - early 70s. Went to Marshall Laing Primary back in the day, family attended the Baptist church just down from the shops. Later moved to Mt Albert
The areas changed a lot but drove to my old street falkirk and it seems that area is still pretty much the same hahaha
The coastal view from the mountain is amazing ❤️❤️❤️
😍 so nice right ✅ 👌
natural treadmill! GO YEN
😂 she eventually made it, yen and helmi should have a race next time hahaha
Peter and Yen yea they should lol
I don't like the sounds of this 😂😂 you guys just wanna laugh at our low fitness levels lolol - Yen
the scenery is really beautiful, hopefully one day after no lockdown we can visit auckland too
🤞 we're good for next Monday. The scenery is amazing indeed
I'm always amazed by your vlogs, nice views as always. The featured foods look delicious! ❤
🤤 been craving another one of those toasties! We will have to make the trip again after lockdown 😁👌
Man really beautiful ending, insane.. man - i guess its a national park? no drone rules?
The whole area is no drone so yeah left it at home for this one 😅

🐊😁 the geckos were super cool. Never seen one in the wild in New Zealand. Seen plenty of skinks though. Very cool gonna watch out for them n the future
11:55 Yen, I am so sorry for laughing at your struggle hahahaha I stan these adventurous king and queen 🤟💖

The toasties looked so delicious! I love making cheesy ones for breakfast 😋
🤤 mmmmm go through long periods where I have 4 toasties for breakfast so good!
Great video! Always telling people how amazing West Auckland is, we even have glow worms! You guys should do the Hillary Trail 😁
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂👍 Ooo didn't know there were glow worms out west! Looked up the Hillary Trail and don't think we could survive that 😂😂 does look beautiful though, thanks for sharing 😁👍
Haha it sounded like you said food things first. Toaster sandwich? Man those things are beasts.

Sounds awesome! Thanks guys, take care and stay safe 🙂👋💕
New Zealand is so beautiful!
New Zealand 🇳🇿 really does have an unlimited amount of beautiful scenery
WOW guys nearly 20,000 subs!!!!! :D so exciting.
Woohoo 🙌 almost there hahaha
how have i been in auckland almost my whole life and i never visited those places..defs missing out!!
Hey Mia! 😁👋 Maybe some places to check out in the new year? 😉
That view of Piha! 😍 6:36
❤😊 so nice right
I'm also afraid of heights and seeing Peter setting on the edge makes my heart beat fast
😂👌 I moved from west Auckland when I was about 10 years old 🤔 hmmmm that's like 24 years ago 😳
@@PeterandYen Woww I was about 3yrs old at that time lolol

Yeah so nice right ✅ 👌
Awesome vlog as always guys 🔥

Heyya Guys! wow guys If thats toastie is finallist, you got us curious to try the winner though! haha looks so delicious!
Hasn't been judged and announced yet! ☺️ We're hoping Jemima will take out top spot then we'll have had the best toastie in NZ 😆👍🇳🇿 They were really yum 😋
Wow nice country. Must visit once in a life
Hope you can visit NZ one day Thu 🤞🙂
hello i just want to ask because some of your vlog did you use a drone video, can i ask if did you take permit before you fly? just trying to het some idea or advice.
Love your peach top Yen!! 😍
Oh is it summer already? Just a while back it was winter!
Hahaha no still winter 🤣
Even you guys have lived in NZ for almost your whole lives but you guys are still amazed by the view of NZ 😄
How was the temperature like in this video guys? Saw Peter with the thongs(jandals)and shorts again lolll 😆
Awesome vlog as always guys 👍🏻
Hahahaha yeah it's hard not to appreciate something so beautiful. And as we get older we find we just appreciate nature even more. Temperature around 10 degrees more than enough for shorts and jandals 😂
BEE CAREFUL PETER! - was yen scared? XD she was so far away haha
😂 yeah she's a scaredy cat 🙀
Lol I was right next to Peter and over his shoulder too taking the photos for IG 😂 Peter's way more scared of heights than me 😅
Award winning sandwich sounds freaking amazing! We want one too
🤤 they were amazing craving one right now
Cool! Will head out there today!
😁👍 nice hope the sunshine 🌞 held out for you
@@PeterandYen yeah nah! Lol. Was a awesome day and would of been perfect to head there if I wasn't hung over! 🤣 definitely still on the cards though!! Love the vids and the food reviews!! I love toasties!! 😁👍
