In Romanian there is also "castaniu" for brown
And also ,, Brun".
In Romanian blue is also : albastru, bleu, azur.
Latin yellow is also Galbenus as well as Flavus.
1:25 - The Romanian name for the orange colour is very interesting. I know that in many countries the fruit orange is called Portugal, because we introduced the sweet oranges to those countries, but I didn't know that it was used in the Romanian colour name. 🙂
Also "bostaniu" from the pumpkin ( bostan) colour.
The name of the color in modern Romanian derives from the name of the fruit.
For purple in Romanian there is also purpuriu
You can say purpura in Spanish too, but is less common

French is also similar to italian. It corresponds to the direction of the linguistic continuum.
Em português a palavra "Vermelho" também pode ser "Rubro" que obviamente é mais próximo ao latim "Ruber", O mesmo vale para diversas outras palavras pois existem pronuncias arcaicas ou casuais/situacionais. Griseo/Grisalho, Fuscus/Fosco, etc são palavras que perderam seu significado como COR especificamente mas ainda é usada no português diariamente. Salve desde Brasil😉
Sim, só que grisalho nós usamos pra cabelo.
E usamos fosco como sinônimo de algo sem brilho, embaçado, e não de marrom.
E em Portugal a palavra "encarnado" como sinónimo de vermelho é usada tanto ou mais do que a original.
Nunca vi ninguém falando rubro para se referir a cor. Está mais relacionado a time de futebol
@@MrBetospsp Seu comentário não faz sentido já que, Rubro é a cor vermelha justamente desses times de futebol, ou seja quando usam a palavra para se referir a cor do time que é rubro/vermelho. È como a cor do sangue que se chama CARMESIM, e tu não vai encontrar as pessoas usarem essa palavra por ai, depende do ambiente e isso não deixa de ser uma palavra do português. Sem falar que pelo teu nome tu é de são paulo, não pode falar por Brasil e muito menos eu poderia.

em português há a palavra grisalho para designar a cor do cabelo.
português tem também a palavra Negro...

Branco deriva do germânico "Blank"... Alb é do latim mesmo... em português há a palavra "alvo" "alvejante".. também se emprega na combinação de cores... "alvinegro" "alviverde" etc.
In Portuguese from Portugal we don't use or say Marrom for brown colour
Português tem a palavra Rubro que é uma tonalidade do Vermelho.

In Spanish we have “bermejo” (originally was spelled “vermejo” but because of the confusion of both letters in the Spanish language-they have the same sound- the spelling changed) it means russet

@@maaaarrrr mira, la palabra bermejo se usa muy poco hoy en día, solo se ve en textos viejos como la Biblia, que dice que uno de los jinetes del apocalipsis iba en un caballo bermejo, según el diccionario, bermejo: “Que es rojo o rojizo, en especial la piel y el pelo.”

All of these have multiple synonyms in each language.
For instance even tho Spanish morado and Romanian mov sound nothing like Latin purpureus, Spanish has purpura and Romanian has purpuriu.

Not really the other way around, German has taken over a lot of words from the Romance languages like Italian or from French or directly from Latin, and also a lot from Greek. On the other hand, the Romance languages have taken over very little from German, hardly worth mentioning.
In French Négre exist signifie Noir also
