I recall renting one of Doc's instructional videos. At one point he actually held down two strings on the fretboard by using only his ring finger. Unfortunately, my hands were not as big as Doc's😀
Hey :) Boom chicka pattern gets very hard for me after 130 bpm while playing (note G - strum) & (open D - strum) pattern using open G chord. Cross picking triads (200 bpm triplets on triads) - is that enough? Alternate picking 160 bpm 16th notes as far as I can see is enough? The goal is to prepare my right hand for the challenges and I am trying to set specific metronome goals 🙂
You’re a hell of a player! I’m eating up your great tutorials. Thanks!
I can’t read tabs at all, it’s so helpful to see both your hands in yer videos. You’re the man!!
Wow! I've been looking for this style of playing!! Thanks!
More like this please!
Really enjoy and appreciate your lessons! Many thanks. 🙏🎸
Thanks... very clear instruction. Getting after this right now
love your videos Brandon, thanks for all of these
Heard Doc version of Midnight Waltz a number of years ago totally blew my mind and put him to top of list of pickers to listen to.
Great video!
This is GREAT!

Doc Watson style reminds of Hootie Leadbetter.
Workmanlike
So it's just a slower, more archaic form of Chicken pickin'?
Your face doesn’t match the style your playing....I would have guessed 80s rock. A true chameleon
Just say the notes for the walk. People actually view music like this? C, E. Third fret A and Second Fret D? It’s C and E.
