    Richtig schwer - und richtig gut gemacht! Am besten war die Aktion, in der Du quer unter dem Ziel hinweggeflogen und drei der vier Motoren plus Rumpf erwischt hattest. Sauber! Und immer richtig gut dem Abwehrfeuer ausgewichen. Respekt!

    Correct spelling is "Schrage muzik" upward-firing rotating cannon. A truly unique and deadly invention for the time. Its interesting see this simulation from the Luftwaffe perspective and what it must have been like. We should note that night fighters were not always so successful as implied in this simulation and return defensive from the three Avro Lancaster turrets(esp. the quadruple 303 rear turret) sometimes found their mark. Thanks for sharing.

      There were some studies and prototypes at Mauser, then the war ended, the Yanks took possession of the projects, changed their name ("Gatling is 100% American!") and said they invented the rotating barrels ... A story that was repeated a thousand times

      Obviously your favourite aircraft is your opinion and i respect that of course. However your last point is one i come across a lot on UA-cam.
      I'd like to offer you to watch interviews with British test pilot Eric 'Wrinkle' Brown. A fascinating aviator that anyone who loves aircraft, irrespective of which side, would appreciate.
      Anyway, he flew this particular aircraft and he gives his verdict.
      All the best

    Great demonstration of weaponry. Thank you.
    Reticles brightness could be reduced probably?

    • @Fishyyy
      @Fishyyy  7 років тому +6

      I do use the reticle brightness feature, but i think it doesn't show up in replays. Also in VP you don't get the eight different stages you get in the vanilla game. It only has four options: Off, Dim, Normal and Bright while Dim still is quite bright at night.

    • @MothaLuva
      @MothaLuva 7 років тому +6

      hanghaeja We could switch the Revi off completely. It was switched on only when needed. There was also a day/night switch on the Revi 16D. We used the day mode very rarely. The difference between the day and night mode was in the brightness of the reticle and the color. Day mode was yellow orange, while the night mode was red. The same switch controlled the brightness of the reticle independent of the mode selected.

    There was once a Luftwaffe plan to hang around RAF airfields at night and catch the empty bombers returning to land. It was never used, but it would have been devastating.

    • @Fishyyy
      @Fishyyy  6 років тому +8

      This tactic was used, it was called "ferne Nachtjagd". I even made a video of it.

    • @FroggyFrog9000

      cool vid! From memory. after the British started really devastating Lancaster night raids, utilising all sorts of electronics to guide to target suchg as Oboe, and their radar tv equipment to see a moving map of the ground, in exasperation, one of the higher ups veto'd an idea that would have been successful - A small group commander had brought down something like 10 Lancasters in a night, near their terminal airfield and requested to expand this tactic to a full blown effort. However it was quashed, and the remark was something like, 'They cant even find London in the day'.

    • @Desertduleler_88

      British Mosquito's did the same thing with German night fighters.

      It was a mighty risky business for the HE210 or ME110's because they never knew until too late whether they were also being hunted and any number of unknowns could disclose your position before you were ready to close the attack.

      Great engineers. Many of them.
      But most of their greatest theoretical scientists wisely fled the Nazi regime before the war. Hence the failure of the Nazi atomic bomb project.

  • @johnhaller7017
    @johnhaller7017 6 років тому

    The Nazis had an Me 110's
    set up with schrage musik as a predecessor of this, so that they could attack from six o'clock low. Attacking from anything like level was way too hazardous and creeping up from below was also not foolproof. I think the kill rate for this scenario is way too high. They would be lucky to bag one for each sortie, if that. The rear gunners on the Lancasters and Halifaxes were the creme of the crop and for an extended period of the mission their concentration was constant and at an intense level, watching for the slightest telltale sign of an approaching six low attack. if they survived they probably never slept well for years even after war's end. Now called PTSD. Very enjoyable scenario nonetheless.

    • @vadimpm1290
      @vadimpm1290 4 роки тому

      John Haller you know, how many Lancasters were shot down at it's very first combat mission. They were way better than Me 110-410.
