After watching the gameplay trailer, my perspective now is that the jobs at lv. 50 on mobile have a lot of skills we only get to see way past Lv. 50 on the PC/Console versions, which is a real positive thing. Also means that the combat will be a bit more streamlined and showcasing the flashy side of each job, that we only get to see from lv. 50-60 onwards at the 'base game'. I only wished they gave up on MP as a resource, because you are already managing a LOT of buttons to press -- to the point you could activate an action you don't want to, due of the screen being so small (assuming it's a phone). All gcds on one attack button and only ogcd buttons as separate would be wild in retail. Also the auto attack button on all classes with a specific animation for each would be awesome.
you were wondering about movement and camera control, if you look at the skills section of the screen for EVERY job, theres a tiny button for "lock-on camera", so possibly left stick movement with swiping the screen for camera when not locked? full control like retail?
I would have preferred a genre swap to turn based and things to be simplified. Just retell the story but have combat be something simple so that way we can have blue mage and other classes that wouldnt fit in properly to OG 14 and would be punted into side content.
The two scholar skills on that swipe thing were indomitability and then lustrate, which they used. Adlo is the skill they use after succor there. Also, i've seen people say these animations look better than the base game and... literally how? They might have better textures but they look so dry and diluted from the real version

@@petrus9067 I don't DISlike the Assize, but it's...different. It's kind of a burst/field effect. The Holy, too. Assize is a little TOO fancy to me, personally, so this one wouldn't be BAD, but I it also doesn't look as...crisp? One thing I've always liked about Assize is that it just looks/feels crisp and clean in the animation and effect.
We can only assume they adjusted animations so the player wouldn't be flashbanged by the screen and not allowed to see stuff happening cuz... the zoom. Assuming this is the farthest the camera would be behind the character, I guess simpler animations are the way to go (also, considering this is an MMORPG in a mobile device, that could be really taxing on the device itself.)

There are two things that I hope they add 1) Switchable hotbars if they planned to add new combos, Skills and mitigation to the game. Note that this should be important if they plan on adding to the jobs anyway, not to mention help with some button bloat. 2) AOE combos. If they are not in the Game, tanking will be a huge slog, since you need to keep aggro while tanking. I will be concerned if I am playing Warrior (which doesn't have alot of AOEIng going on in this) and then the Black Mage got aggro via their dps while I am over here spamming fellcleave on one mob, not to mention the White mage accidentally getting aggro too with one healing spell.
This looks surprisingly interesting. More interesting than level 50 combat in the main game in some instances o_o Shame about the controls, though. That is a truly insane amount of buttons to be hitting with a thumb.
Maybe eventually once the mobile game is caught up. They could use this as the solution to the problem of retail netcode and their shitty engine. I can see this definitely going on switch 2 at some point.
I really wish much like how Dark Knight has the new Delirium Combo i kinda wish Inner release made warrior did the flippy buzz saw fell cleave combo we got in this.
when the mobile version has better animation than the original xDD wait ... In 8.0, they are supposed to make a huge change to the classes and job system, right? or at least that's what they've said several times, is it possible that these animations are brought to the original version? :O
not sure i like the split button idea with the BLM. might not be a huge issue with a tablet but on a smaller mobile device it may be difficult to press the side of the button you want quick enough. I like the idea they used for the BRD songs where it looks like a press and hold then swipe in the direction of the song you want to play. They could have used this for the BLM.
I think its the same as bard, the split button just to visualize which side is which skill and their cooldown without having to hold, it default the skill to which side you tab but you can still slide afterwards. See the riddles from Monk, the button is a threeway button, but the cast still requires sliding. Edit: I slowed down and checked the trailer, its indeed default to the side you tab, but can be change with slide for every single one of the cast, the wheel will pop out even with the shortest of tab.
You can actually get this view by using lock-on in XIV, with it being directly taken from the FFXI combat lock-on. I think you may have to bind it yourself for keyboard but if you use a controller it’s accessed by pressing in the right stick. Kind of inconvenient though, since it makes you backpedal while retreating even with legacy controls active.
I like how the combat system looks but I don’t agree with others on the animations being better. A lot of the special effects look like stock unreal engine particles you’ll see in modern games where a flurry of coloured sparks get vomited out for everything, but it’s forgivable since it is a mobile game after all. Definitely wouldn’t want my attacks in the real game to look like that though.
first thing ppl say is arr sucks Grind it out until you get to the good stuff.. now ppl are kinda hyping arr... weird. This gives me doomsday vibes like when they added trusts to ffxi. I'm calling it now, ff17 is gonna be a new mmo
Been saying the same for a long while now. I have no doubt one of the secret projects CBU3 is working on is the next FF MMO, they're gonna use XIV as they did with XI towards "the end." Put the up-and-coming newer devs on XIV to trial them/put them to the test their skills or w/e you want to call it and bring over most of the valued old heads onto the newer MMO. My ONLY hope for this is they drop the numbered title and just call it Final Fantasy Online that way the devs don't feel forced to focus all in on the singleplayer story aspect and can go all in on the MMO aspect.
Most people are more or less indifferent towards ARR. The "it sucks" crowd is just the loudest imo. Especially nowadays ARR is a really smooth story experience and I personally find the levelling experience the best. What I think gives it the bad impression is A: veteran players only remembering the old ARR B: the atrocious job design at the first 50 levels and the dungeons in ARR. It is just not fun playing unfinished jobs the entire time. The mobile game seems to fix the second issue and I think that might make the experience far better. Honestly the devs of the main game should take notes and be really humble about not knowing how to design the jobs at that level range because right now the design of them in ARR is probably one of the biggest flaws of it.
@@Horstveratu ARR's modified form isn't that bad. Like 40% of its bloat was removed and the final segment was overhauled to be more fun after EndWalker came out. Still a better story than dawntrail lol

2 Expedient charges AND a guaranteed crit shield as a lvl 50 Scholar? That's... interesting
This looks surprisingly interesting. More interesting than level 50 combat in the main game in some instances o_o
Shame about the controls, though. That is a truly insane amount of buttons to be hitting with a thumb.
Hey remember when we didn't have auto-attack in 1.0? Looks like that idea's back for the mobile version.
Slightly interesting that they remade the ability art instead of ripping it straight from the game.
Looks like how most jobs look like right now for complexity.
And some of the abilities look better
I hate how this has better animations 😑
i been using better animations for months now! tell me you werent playing with vanilla animations this whole time?!
These angles let us pay closer attention to the animations. Next time ingame pay attention to what's happening. Especially with ffxivs lockon system
Uhh... how...?

wonder if there gonna make a pc version of the mobile game
Maybe eventually once the mobile game is caught up. They could use this as the solution to the problem of retail netcode and their shitty engine.
I can see this definitely going on switch 2 at some point.
RIP no ninja lol
wish this game had more colors, the environments look so incredibly dull
Dragon sight is good get taste
I need an iphone to play this?..
Or maybe just a tablet
Or android phone
I really wish much like how Dark Knight has the new Delirium Combo i kinda wish Inner release made warrior did the flippy buzz saw fell cleave combo we got in this.
BLM have in the mobile game 19 seconds instead of 15 seconds
Hello Mr Happy 🙌🏾
Honestly as cool as this looks I would have rather had ff11 on mobile.
when the mobile version has better animation than the original xDD wait ... In 8.0, they are supposed to make a huge change to the classes and job system, right? or at least that's what they've said several times, is it possible that these animations are brought to the original version? :O
Here's hoping all these new animations are testing for speeding up retails' combat or some sort of over haul next expansion, it needs it.
not sure i like the split button idea with the BLM. might not be a huge issue with a tablet but on a smaller mobile device it may be difficult to press the side of the button you want quick enough.
Edit: I slowed down and checked the trailer, its indeed default to the side you tab, but can be change with slide for every single one of the cast, the wheel will pop out even with the shortest of tab.
kinda upset the skills look higher quality than the pc version
It looks like battles switches to a different view like you do in turn based games.
I have an snap 8 gen 2, hope it works.
I like how the combat system looks but I don’t agree with others on the animations being better. A lot of the special effects look like stock unreal engine particles you’ll see in modern games where a flurry of coloured sparks get vomited out for everything, but it’s forgivable since it is a mobile game after all. Definitely wouldn’t want my attacks in the real game to look like that though.
the animation is kinda flaky for some reasons
first thing ppl say is arr sucks Grind it out until you get to the good stuff.. now ppl are kinda hyping arr...
@@ikeaira8701 yea less Story more gameplay would be nice
Most people are more or less indifferent towards ARR.
The "it sucks" crowd is just the loudest imo.
Especially nowadays ARR is a really smooth story experience and I personally find the levelling experience the best.
What I think gives it the bad impression is
A: veteran players only remembering the old ARR
B: the atrocious job design at the first 50 levels and the dungeons in ARR.
I mean yeah this game probably has more then half a decade on it still 11 ended up being supported a little ways into 14 Id imagine theyd want to do that again incase the next mmo has launch issues like 14, that probably gives the game like years left getting support which is basically what they have been telling us and a lot or time still
It's over...
these animations look very not good, but I am curious to see how this actually adapts trials and raids, if it even will
They look good for a mobile game. Do you want people's phones to explode?
There is a PC version and it s called FF14 😂
does this shit have a subscription too?
F2P confirmed. The producer also said it won't be gacha, or anything that asks for your money in a crazy amount, but asking for a bit by bit because their main focus is how to make players play in longer term.
Seeing these new animations gives 8.0 Job reworks some promise
Not even same dev studios working on the game
@@EarthQuaKKi Okay? The animations can still be reused/remade.
@@EarthQuaKKi they said they were going to do a rework of the jobs in 8.0 and that we would see a slight preview for 7.2 but they wanted to change fight design first
@@phoenixgames3351no, 7.2 was where the bolder fight design was going to start showing, not job reworks.
losing players now making mobile version huh? lol
This kind of proves that they don't give a shit about 14 players. If they can give animations like that for a mobile game but they can't give it to us when we pay to play this game for over 10 years. Watch I bet the character creation will actually give you boobs
A different development team is making the mobile game sheesh.
Bro just thinking about it but wut if modern day summoner is actually based off the mobile game cuz wasn't the game being worked on for yrs now and compared to all the other jobs it looks the most identical to retail 😆
Unlikely for a dozen different reasons. Like the fact its a completely seperate 3rd party group working on this.
Makes 3 min video 30 min ok
