An original is hard to beat, because..well its just that..the original. When Brian does a cover he puts his heart into it. I've heard him cover many songs and most are better than the original because of his voice, its just superb not to mention his guitar playing which is second to none. He's my favorite artist so far in life and I'm 47. I also like Mike Ness and Jim Heath.
Same age, also big fan of Social D and the Rev. Brian Setzer needs to be in the Rock 'n' Roll HoF. Yea, it's a crap institution, but still, justice should be done. I've never even heard this discussed. My Case: * As you say, Brian is an amazing guitarist (I think I read the Rev saying something like Brian "can do whatever he wants to" on guitar... this coming from another great guitarist), and also a great vocalist- witness, for example "I won't stand in your way anymore". * He helped revive 2 dormant genres- rockabilly (the Cats) and Swing (the Orchestra). * He has great, and influential, style- from hair to clothes to tats. * He has legit big hits! 4 top 40 songs with the Cats including 3 top 10s. He hit the top 40 again with the orchestra. * He is the epitome of what the HoF is supposed to be about- Rock 'n' Roll.
For some reason the whole outlaw country rockabilly sound has only been done well by mike ness brian setzer and them. Its a rare sound for such a good one
Mucho mejor que la versión original, algo que me duele admitir porque amo a Buddy Holly. Este disco tiene grandes versiones, como la de Trying to Get to You.
Lonesome tears sad and blue I cried lonesome tears for you Well you know I know I cried When you said goodbye When you left and said I'm gone Lonesome tears fell all night long Well you know I know I cried When you said goodbye You left me here all alone Hear me callin' won't you come back home Love me like you did before Now need I tell you more Lonesome tears sad and blue I cried lonesome tears for you Well you know I know I cried When you said goodbye You left me here all alone Hear me callin' won't you come back home Love me like you did before Now need I tell you more Lonesome tears sad and blue I cried lonesome tears for you Well you know I know I cried When you said goodbye
Okay guys, listen. It's fine to have liked the Stray Cats. But this version of Lonesome Tears cannot hold a candle to Buddy Holly's original. They slowed down the tempo, and the urgency that's in Buddy Holly's voice is completely absent from Brian Stetzer's. They also did almost a note for note copy of the guitar solo.

Superior para mí esta versión

Debe tener muchos dolores por decir mentiras! Buddy Holly fue El Rey, y el fue major. Es claro!
@@EPA18 Una opinión no es una mentira
Love the stray cats
Muy excellente!!
Version incroyable du grand Brian Setzer avec ces musiciens sensationnels d un classique de Buddy holly.
Discovered this gem recently, very underrated song, in my opinion. Good Tribute to B. Holly's I assume is the original singer!
Yes, and Holly's version is far better.
Lonesome tears sad and blue
I cried lonesome tears for you
Well you know I know I cried
When you said goodbye
When you left and said I'm gone
Lonesome tears fell all night long
Well you know I know I cried
When you said goodbye
You left me here all alone
Hear me callin' won't you come back home
Love me like you did before
Now need I tell you more
Lonesome tears sad and blue
I cried lonesome tears for you
Well you know I know I cried
When you said goodbye
You left me here all alone
Hear me callin' won't you come back home
Love me like you did before
Now need I tell you more

Jerry Allison's drumming really made The Crickets' original. Still an enjoyable cover of a lesser-known Buddy Holly song.
you nailed it..well, along with Holly's distinctive style
Buddy Holly is te best, but Brian Setzer is a genius
Sorry mu bad english
Good cover, I think the chorus doesn't sound as good as the original, but the bridge sounds better

Average cover without the important guitar backing before the solo and too slow in my opinion
I love Buddy Holly, but Brian Setzer os a genius
Sounds pretty cool.😂😂😂
