- A father of a California soldier killed in Afghanistan is speaking out after he says his family was booed while bringing his son's body home. Steve Large from CBS station KOVR has the story.
First Class "booed" them because their flight was delayed for putting the body on the plane. That is entitlement.

I am hopeful that this story was incomplete in that they didn't explain the full nature of the delay.
I can understand that while in retrospect it might seem distasteful.
Hopefully the pilot said "ladies and gentlemen there will be a short delay" and the first class who probably fly often playfully booed before he even said more assuming it was weather or place in line or something and we're just being snarky

My dad was an Indonesian infantrymen (Sergeant Major) who fought in Operation Lotus on East Timor during 1978-1985, are being underappreciated for his service by our own government. I'm glad he survived otherwise I wouldn't be here, now he live in a simple shabby wooden veteran house I often visits. I've found out later then that whole operation considered as an invasion/genocide etc. It's all because of the politicians that maybe pressuring our soldiers out there during that time to fully decimate the communism and its sympathizers hiding around the citizens. Seeing this and I heard that US 'Nam vets also disrespected like this, boils down my military blood much more as I can't imagine if that also happened to my dad and his comrades. Seriously ppl nowadays needs to learn how to respect and some manners.
I highly respect to any US soldiers who fought hard and are willing to sacrifice his own life for his nation, even though I'm not an American myself but I give my salute to your dad and brother for his service! 💪🪖

My heat breaks, and as I listened to this, I literally began to cry. This is an extremely sad and horrific example of how our society is today. I happen to be a daughter of a Marine Corps veteran who served in Korea. If this would have happened to me, I’d probably end up in jail for assault.

@Wubba Wubba airlines like Delta have an honor guard when a fall servicemen is transported on one of their plans that they tell the passengers to stay seated whole they take the servicemen off the plane. They were delayed from disembarking from the plane. There is no ceremony while loading the casket onto the plane.

I served 21yrs both Marines and Army. I have had the unpleasant duty of knocking on a service members family's door to inform them that their son/daughter, husband/wife, mom/dad had been killed in action. twice on Christmas day. Right to freedom of speech or not, there is a time and place for it. Whether you agree or disagree with the current political situation there is a time and place for it. The only reason people booed was because their precious flight was being delayed...show some compassion and respect. Someone has perished and a family is grieving...your delay is just not that serious...

As a veteran with the US Air Force, this breaks my heart what has become of this country. I want to thank your family and most of all for the ultimate sacrifice your son paid.
