Tip...i know those tone arms don't lift very high. Next time you replace the needle, flip your cell phone to "selfie" and place it under the tone arm so you can see what you're doing. Removing it takes a lot of effort.
I have a twin to this console that I got for 10 dollars around 2 years ago. Mine has a little bit newer version of the record changer. It needs serviced. The rest works great. I bet I have 120 record albums stored in it. My dial glass must have gotten dew inside at one time. The grunge is weird looking.
I have the same console but mine has the micromatic turntable. I didn't think to take the arm off to replace the needle. My speakers need work and may need to be replaced and I need to figure out how to deep clean those. I am sure it's contributing to poor sound quality. My dad bought it in 1969 new for $414.44. ❤ but over the last 54 years it was stored in an uncontrolled environment. environment.
I picked up a magnavox astro sonic 1p3763 today for 20.. guy said it wasn't working but i got it working. Jus one little thing when i turn the balance all wsy to the right. That side speaker low.. other side solid. Dont kno why
@rayonwilliamssportsandfun2106 Could be that side of the Amp needs some work. I don't think it would be the speaker unless someone blew it too much volume. Have fun, they are fun units. Good buy.
Hey, i got this exact model and there’s a very loud humming feedback noise, the kind that happens when you plug in an electric guitar. Do you have any idea how to fix it? I’ve been trying to listen to my vinyls but I’m unable to 😭
@LoafofSoap I would recommend you have it looked at by a professional. Too hard to try yo explain here. Not something you want to tackle if you've never done this. GOOGLE " capacitors " , there's different types and each one would need testing with the right equipment.

Have fun, they are good sounding units. Once you get it all cleaned up, you’ll like it that much more.
I remember when it sounded AWESOME. I'm disappointed in its current condition.

One side or both?
Usually when you get a hum like that, it's a capacitor. You would need to find someone to check and find the bad one.
@@JackOfAllTrades2022 it’s happening on both, where would i find the capacitors in the device?
