    How do you find the wheel lock on 2020 x5 same pad as f15? Thanks one of the best explanation on here 👏

      Hello, Glad the video was helpful! For the wheel lock, if the wheel lock key is missing you can do a few things. Check to see if you have the box as it has a card that gives you the wheel lock key number. Then you can order it from BMW. If no card, you can go to a dealership and ask them to match it with the master set to see which one you need to order. OR...you can purchase the whole set and find the right one from amazon. The whole set is most likely cheaper than the one at BMW.

    Great video! So the screws on the caliper are not reusable?

    Any need to adjust e brake after replacing rotors or as shoes wear? I saw there is an adjust wheel

    • @AskTheCarExperts
      @AskTheCarExperts  2 роки тому +1

      Most of the time there is no need to adjust. Do a check of the e brake. 5 clicks is the max and it should hold. Less critical on an auto trans but very important on a manual trans.

      @@AskTheCarExperts what do you mean by 5 clicks? I’m going to replace the brake shoes soon while doing pads and rotors. Think it makes sense while I’m at it

    Is the e-brake on the drivers side only? I want to change the rotors/pads like you did on video, but I’m concerned about not being able to push piston back in on the side of e-brake. Obviously I’d turn off the e-brake which I never use. Anything special or extra step with e-brake? Also I noticed you didn’t put any grease on slide pins, is that a bmw thing? Btw - I too have an x5 f15 (2015) awd. Thank you in advance

      Hi Brad, Your vehicle should not have the electronic e brake. The e brake is on both sides and should be the mechanical e brake. The piston will be able to be pressed in the same on both side :) 😀 Let ke know if you run into anything I can help with!

    Hello,
    Is the rear sensor an identical to the front sensor?
    Are all four rotor disks front to rear the same in sizes on this X5 F15 35i?
    BTW, you made the best video on this brake job on you tube. 👍

    • @AskTheCarExperts
      @AskTheCarExperts  2 роки тому

      Thank you Ben! The front and rear sensor are different and the rotors are different front to rear as well.

    These only have the single passenger-side rear wear sensor correct? Pretty sure there's only one but wanted to be sure before I ordered

    Do you have to bleed out the breaks ?

    • @AskTheCarExperts
      @AskTheCarExperts  2 роки тому

      Hi Gunz TV, No bleeding of the brakes is needed since the hydraulic system is not opened to do this repair.

    Where to set stands? Did you put loads on the stands?

    • @AskTheCarExperts
      @AskTheCarExperts  2 роки тому

      I put the stands under the frame of the rear subframe but I do not lower the car down. I use the jack to support the vehicle and the jack stands are a back up safety for myself and the vehicle.

    Shouldn't you adjust the brake shoes

    • @AskTheCarExperts
      @AskTheCarExperts  9 місяців тому

      Hello James, Most.of the time you don't have to but on a vehicle with the electronic E brake built into the caliper there are no longer shoes installed. If your BMW has the brake shoes test the e brake after. It should hold at 3 to 5 clicks. If not then adjust.
