Wow , this snapped me back to when I was a kid lol . My mother had one of theses type of washers . I'll gladly take one if these over the wringer type ...
If you ever have seen this gearbox inside, you will be amazed, for sure. That ingeniery skills, build quality would'nt been produced never more... what a shame. These machines were made to last three generations.
This machine is so cool. If you still have it I would love to see this in person. It looks like quality at its best. Awesome is the word I'm looking for LOL.
I would buy one of these workhorses again if I could find one. We have had them in the past, Mom, Grandmother, and me. They all worked great. Do not know why they are not made today. Probably because they were so good and lasted manufacturers want to make "new and improved" that need to be thrown out in a few years and replaced. phooey
judy hobday washers with a separate spinner, and wringer washers were great, but when washer manufacturers started introducing washers that spin and rinse the clothes on its own, that people overall stopped buying these type of machines. I don't know when Whirlpool, White Consolidated Industries, Frigidaire (when owned by General Motors), and some lesser known manufacturers stopped making these machines. I do know Maytag stopped making wringer washers in 1983, due to low demand. Had top loaders as we know it and front loaders not been introduced, we might still be using these type of washers today.
hi i just bought a old house and this washer was in it could you please tell me .I wanted to sell it how much do you think i could get for it. Thanks jim
