got the new Black bottle Ardnamurchan CS peated single cask 632 oloroso for U.S. yesterday. I hear the single cask blow away the regular blended stuff. You need to do a Ben Nevis peated McDonalds review some time
The ardnamurchan that I have tried have been wonderful, however, yours sounds awesome... You may get the Ben nevis macdonald 8 sooner than you think.... Cheers for dropping bye my friend....
I haven't seen the Ardbeg 8 in the US. Only listings I see online are approaching $200 a bottle. I'll take a hard pass on that price. The Lagavulin 8 goes for around $50 to $55 here in the Chicago area. The Wee Beastie 5 year old Ardbeg is around $50. Not a huge fan of that one. The Ardbeg 10 is around $60 now. It got bumped up in price from $50 where the WB now sits. I bought one bottle of the WB and I am not a big fan. Lag 8 is nice. Port Charlotte 10 at $60 for a 50% abv might be my favorite Islay peated in that price range.
I'm not sure but if the Lagavulin is the regular 8, I always thought it would be a closer comparison to the Wee Beastie. I'm feeling a little like Jeffrey Epstein with these youngsters. What not though? I just opened a 6 year Ledaig indie. Either way we'll never see that Ardbeg in the states and if we do it'll be $200.
