• Sit and Knit for a Bit...
and left a comment on their video saying how much I liked it, and that I might make one for The Last Homely House. 'DO IT!' they replied and so I have!
Here then is a lot of film of me pottering around my little local town, then I do the most basic of 'carpenting' and by great good fortune, Jo and Barry were able to visit after the strict lockdown restrictions changed on December 2nd. They help me in the house(Jo) and with outdoor tasks (Barry) and I really appreciate their help. They stop me from going crazy with all there is to do! Barry doesn't mind ladders. He's a tree surgeon, so I guess it comes with the job!
Enjoy my driving at 8 times the speed I actually do it!

In other Patreon News, I am trying to make December's Livestream ($5+) into a Zoom Chat. No idea if I'll be successful but that should be an interesting experiment!
Today the music is called Winter Time from Epidemic Sound and I LOVE it!

You are better at carpenting than I am, that's for sure!! Very enjoyable episode. x
Oh thank you! You won't believe that my next scheduled video is baking! I'm not stalking you ... promise! you can start to worry if I begin a knitting series! ha ha ha!!! xxxxx
@@thelasthomelyhouse I truly enjoy your humor.
@@thelasthomelyhouse sorry I think I got this on the wrong post.
Arne and Carlos were so fun to watch! I’m was so happy to see you tackle it Kate! Your star is beautiful lit up by your window. Also, so fun to go on your drive see your town and landscape. So beautiful and different than here in Wisconsin.
Sorry to That: yes she is 😁😊🙃🙂
I absolutely love the star. Well done Kate you are an inspiration.
You'll love the Arne in the kitchen following Carlos' instructions for making gingerbread episode - what a hoot
ua-cam.com/video/VmcnPt7VT0I/v-deo.html
I'm gonna watch that one next!
I agree Patricia and Dana you will be laughing as much as Arne.
A beautiful star shining in the dark of night. I'm sitting on the outdoors part of the lime green sofa wrapped in a blanket drinking hot chocolate admiring the star along with all the other you tube friends. We've got hot water bottles too. X 🌼
This video takes me back about 50+ years. One of my earliest memories of Christmas was my daddy making a star out of wood and for some reason he wrapped foil around it and then put lights around it. It hung on our front porch next to the door. We used it for years. I wish I had that star today. I would proudly display it at Christmas. I think of it every Christmas when I am putting up my Christmas decorations. I don't know why he put the aluminum foil around it, unless it was just to give it some color or shine. He was very good at making things. He would make us little wooden toys and cars.
So beautiful above your stain glass window.
When I watched this on Arne and Carlos, I laughed and laughed. Cudos to Carlos for perseverance!
Me too!
I did too. And kudos to Arne for patiently explaining everything with his limited English. It was a wonderful episode. Kate, after watching A&C I made two little stars for my windows. This is a very simple, lovely project.
What a great idea to make this star that Carlos made under Arne’s supervision. What I absolutely loved most was your drive back home. The little town looks so very sweet and peaceful! Thanks and stay safe.
Me too. The English villages and countryside is so beautiful.
Thanks for the trip to town. The star is lovely - a beacon shining out into the dark wintery night.
I watched Carlos make his star, I was in tears from laughing. I think you are a little more mechanically inclined than Carlos, he was such a good sport ! It was good to see him persevere in the end. Your star looks great, and your kitchen window is just beautiful. Thank you for shareing
Just now watching, the star is beautiful and perfectly placed about that gorgeous window
Beautifully done Kate!🌟 Barry to the rescue! Kate’s got her own handy hunk, hahaha. My husband and I made one yesterday and hung it on our tractor shed (no plug so we used battery operated LED lights) Every time I see a bright star I think of one of my favorite poems; “choose something like a star” by Robert Frost . It looks lovely above your kitchen window
I LOVE this STAR with light ms- Fantastic at night! Hooray! Yes- SandraMyer- cold outside! Yikes!
Kate why would you not give this a thumbs up, I was enthralled with this jam packed episode. What a wonderful job you did and your dream was realised with the help of gorgeous Barry!! Great sunday night viewing.
The star looked so good with your stained glass window! Thank you, Barry for helping - all of us on the LGS appreciate it! I understand the single lady issues - like getting heavy things into the house! I love your “girl drill” - what a great Mother’s Day gift! I’m so glad you recommended Arne and Carlos as I am thoroughly enjoying their channel!
My brother-in-law made a star just like yours several years ago. He hangs it out on a tree near the driveway. At the time, I thought it was very clever of him because I had never thought of him as a craft person.
Thank you, Kate. This is such a charming video, perfect for encouragement and getting into the spirit of the holiday season. I loved every scene, even the ice on the windshield moment. Your star is gorgeous both ways, lit and unlit. Sturdy, too. I enjoyed the shopping excursion into town. I'll be watching all of this again & again from now until Christmas. New subscriber.
I loved seeing the countryside as you drove to and from town to purchase your materials. Your mounted star looked beautiful with the light mottled by the irregular stone on the wall of your house. You made it look so easy to construct as you wielded your drill like a pro. What a charming Christmas decoration!
Absolutely beautiful. The star looks great against the stone background. You and Arne & Carlos are my top favs. I'm so excited when you both found each other.
Well done! My husband made the Alaska version- constructed of alder branches we'd trimmed to give the snowplow guy more room, and hung on moose antlers over the shed door.
I was searching for quilting videos the other day and happened upon you. What a treat! So now I’ve been binge watching you and felt that I should let you know how much I enjoy you escapades. I am the oldest of three girls so my Dad made me his “son”. Ha. I love watching someone that can do everything all by herself. Please continue to video because I so enjoy your channel. I hope you have younger than us viewers because you offer so much to learn. Sherry from North Carolina, USA. 😃😃
I don’t like ladders either,. I get dizzy watching other people on ladders. I pray the entire time. Lovely Kate. Good job.
The star looks beautiful!! And your window! You and BARRY did a fine job!
What a lovely window you got in your house ❤️
Wow I just love the trip to town and seeing the English country side ! The finish project the star and the way you placed it on the house ! It was all so wow ❤️😊👍 I can’t say enough! 🌲
It’s lovely! ❤️
Wheee....that was quite the ride! It was quite the rush going through the round about on the wrong side of the road, haha. The star challenge was hysterical. Happiest week ever, Kate.
Thank you! My biggest smile all day when the star lit up.
Absolute perfection!!! It was perfectly placed on your house. You’ve inspired me to make one maybe this weekend. I chuckled when you asked yourself if your kids might want one and quickly responded ‘nope’. Ha ha. Well done! Merry Christmas from across the pond. 🎄🎄🎄
I loved your star. I also watch Arne and Carlos make the star and bought the wood for my grandson(9) and I to build as a surprise for my Son and Daughter-in-law . I wish this year especially everyone world wide would light a star. I live in the USA small town in Pennsylvania.
Your star looks wonderful on the stone of your house! 😊❤️
I saw Arne and Carlos make their star. I thought you made yours so well and it looked fantastic! So clever
What a simple but beautiful decoration. I also like the shot with the stained glass window on at the same time as the star. I think that Arne and Carlos and You, have started a trend!
Kate, you made it look so easy! It looks absolutely beautiful 🤩
Oh the night time shot of your stained glass window and star above, is spectacular!
What a simply beautiful project! You are truly a renaissance woman!
After watching Arne and Carlos, I had to make a star too, love their videos!
Hi Kate, it was through Arne’s and Carlos’s UA-cam channel that I first heard about your channel. How lucky am I? So now your channel and their channel are my “go-to” channels on UA-cam. There are quite a few other channels that I enjoy, but yours and theirs are just so interesting, with never a boring moment, and I always learn something new. Thank you so very much for taking the time to film wee bits of your life for your followers to enjoy. Bless you!
Arne & Carlos pointed me to you! With apologies to Carlos, you are a tad more adept with power tools and I love your star as much as theirs. I want to make this--it looks like something I could handle. Well, done!
So darned cute! Fantastic star, Kate, congratulations! And your stained glass masterpiece is spectacular lit from inside!!! Simply magnificent with your star. Sweet!
How lovely,I love watching Arne and Carlos
A few months late watching it but better late then never! I SO enjoyed watching you do this! I loved seeing Carlos making out in the snow under Arne's direction and thought it was such a beautiful star! Seeing you make it has reinforced my resolve to make one this year!!! It's the simple things in life that can bring so much joy (and you never disappoint.). Thank you! xx
Very nicely done Kate. It was fun to watch Carlos take a turn at the woodworking!
How wonderful! I'd seen Arne & Carlos' video, and yours is every bit as delightful in a different way. Merry Christmas!
My heart was in my mouth as Barry climbed the ladder placed all too close to your stained glass window. I had horrible visions of the ladder or Barry or the star crashing into that priceless art! I don't think I breathed again until the whole project was done and the star was lit. It does look wonderful on the house in the end though -- good job, Kate!!
Can I just tell you how much your smile uplifts me?! I live in the U.S. and the last few days have been especially painful and worrisome on top of Covid. Watching your videos feels like visiting with a good friend and might I add that you have so inspired me to start quilting again! Thanks for all that you do, you are appreciated.
I enjoyed the trip into town and the star combined with your lovely window was fabulous. Thank you for sharing.
Oh my! That star came out so beautiful, I did watch Carlos make theirs and he did a fabulous job too, congratulations!
I loved it together with you lighted "kitchen window tree". What would we do without all those fearless people on ladders, eh, Kate ;>D
Look at you!!! Our English martha stewart!!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
How beautiful! I love the drive through your countryside. ❤️
It’s perfect, Kate ... and you handle that cordless drill like a pro! 🥰
Great job Kate, looks fabulous above the stained glass window which I adore. If you haven't seen Arni and Carlos's new video you will love it! Arni learned how to make cookies talk about laughter I really enjoyed it so much and it really lifted my spirits along with your wonderful star.
Kate, if you decide to make this again as a gift, consider measuring the string of lights to determine the halfway point; then you can more easily insure that half the lights go on the first half of the star and half on the second. Another wonderful episode!
So Special! The star of Bethleham and you crafted it while I watched! Thank you so much!
What a wonderful video, and your star is magnificent. I've never seen anything like it around here. You are amazing, Kate. Thank you for sharing this with us. I really enjoyed watching.
Yay Barry, it looks fantastic Kate❤❤❤
What a gorgeous stain glass window and with the star unbelieveable.
Well done Kate❤️. It’s just beautiful ☺️
Glad you have guys that come by and help you with ladders! Beautiful star 🌟
So wonderful. A most wonderful addition to your home. Arne and Carlos would be proud.
This is important for us to learn the Star- 5 star with wood about 40 inches with holes on each end of wood- use a mechanical drill to make a nail, back an old hole, and put to screws in to stable this and then put lights around the star- outside on a house or maybe a window inside- idk 🤷♀️- looks great!
It’s was Sandra Myer watching this craft for Christmas or holiday! FUN!
Love the little bits of shopping and the drive in the car. Barry did a great job, he is so handsome & kind. Very nice star. 😊⭐
My husband made one of these for our house just yesterday. It turned out great.
It looks fantastic Kate, Arne & Carlos are such enterprising people and so lovely and funny too, well done you xx
Hi Kate I watched the Arne & Carlos' Star construction It was hilarious. You approached this as I knew you would - a quilter with a baby drill. Lovely. I'm going to have a go too!!! The world will be covered in A&C + H H stars this ChristmasX
Beautiful, Kate. Love the star over Mary. Job well done my friend. 😊
Kate, I enjoyed this episode very much. I had seen Arne and Carlos make their star it was another joy to see you make yours. When you and Barry were installing the star I was thinking, DON'T BREAK KATES LOVELY WINDOW. Hahahaha. Be well my friend.
The star over the stained glass is so beautiful. Well done, Kate.
Well, it’s just darling and now I’ll be off to the lumber yard to get started on one for my house!
I bought my supplies today and cut the wood myself and varnished the pieces. Planning to put it together when it dries. What a lovely & fun project! Love you and Arne & Carlos!!
I couldn't help but applaud when it was lit!
A bright star in the night! Very peaceful!
It looks wonderful above your stained glass window!! Thank you Barry!
Arne and Carlos sent me! Very enjoyable!! Love the cat!! When I had to use 50 lb. sacks, I would take two others out there and split them in half. It meant I had to unload 4 sacks but it worked!
Hi Kate. 5 out of 5 for your drilling & the star is beautiful. you got the lights right first time round. I like how you held the ladder for Ben when he had nearly finished the job lol. Tfs. Hugs to all the pets. :):):):)
Looks really good Kate. Nice job. and many thanks to Barry.
The only thing I enjoy about getting gifts is the sentiment...not to be ungrateful but if it is not given from the heart, one might as well keep it. One can always tell...Besides the older I get the more I’m finding I have more than I need in a material sense... I’ve asked for people to plant a tree this year with picture of themselves besides it for my Life Album. Yes...ladders...I’m not a fan either LOL! I have 16 foot cathedral ceilings in my living room...& yup my son climbs the ladder for me too and I look the other way... gives me a fright.....Beautiful Star.
I’ve just discovered your UA-cam channel via Carlos and Arne. I’m happily binge watching older episodes, it’s a treat to have something like this to watch instead of news
Kate: Your star looks lovely. I enjoyed the ride through town.
Kate, the star is magnificent! I am so pleased that it is above the most beautiful stained glass window. You made it all look so easy, best wishes, Elske
After seeing Arne and Carlos, and you doing one, I told my husband he must help me make one. What a beautiful window, and such a lovely home! Thanks for sharing your process with us! Watching Arne cook today was a real treat to! Hope you enjoy it as well!
To you and Barry a very deLightful Christmas. Job well done Kate and Barry. It is beautiful. All passing by will enjoy the beautiful lights. ⭐🎄👍
Loved you makeing your Christmas star and your helpers too xxx from west coast 🇨🇦
I watched A and C too! You are SO competent Kate and you make everything look doable and easy, when I know it’s not. Thank you for all your lovely videos xx
Lovely above your stained glass window Kate. We’ve made three rustic versions of these over the past few years from thin bamboo or willow. The biggest one is on a pole so that the people in the nearby trains can see it!!
Somehow I'm not surprised you took on the task 😊 They are the yin to each other's yang. There were some fun lights at that store. Love that scarf. You're pretty handy with the tools but honestly didn't expect any less. Oh my...now that is something beautiful to behold between the star and that gorgeous window. Blessed to have that and good, fearless help.
I agree with the “this is not their first language” for Arne and Carlos videos - I love their videos as well and respect them for doing these in English. Their videos and yours are my favorites. Thank you for these. Your star looks wonderful, great job
I love it when you drive somewhere! I love seeing the countryside where you live!
That is a great idea , the star. It’s beautiful once installed. I live on a hill and placed it on a long pole and secured in the very top a tall fir tree. I had compliments from the entire town could see it . Enjoy 😊! Nice job! ☃️❄️🎄
Just a suggestion, a coat or two of polyurethane to protect the wood from the weather. It looks great. I thinking I'll have to add one to my lights.
The star is beautiful on your house and looks spectacular with your house lights on so the light also shines through your beautiful window.
Arne and Carolos i love watching them yes i see them making the star love your video love your coat the patch work beautiful.
I love Arne and Carlos , I used to talk to them all the time .
Id watched Arne and Carlos make this first and I really enjoyed it, I was going to attempt it myself later, Ive now watched yours and what a wonderful job you have done too, I really enjoyed this well done.
LOL, I told Arne and Carlos that the world will be lit up by their Christmas Stars this year. Great video.
Awesome star. Barry the hero today.
1. You Go Girl. You knocked that star out in no time. 2. Yes, I enjoyed Barry climbing on the ladder (tee heee)
Love the star ❤❤❤
Awesome job . Such a beautiful sight at night. and thank you Berry for helping her always
