This was really helpful! Not just for how to make the waves smooth, but how to make waves in general!
Thank you for making this!
You're very welcome! :)
This is another example that says AE is an ocean. Thanks soo much for the tutorial! Amazzing stuff about Curves Alpha adjustments. Never knew it can be used like that.

This is very helpful! I've been trying to find other ways to animate a big wave because it get jagged when I make the waves too big in wave warp. I kinda defaulted to animating the wave manually or move the shape instead which is a pain. I'll try this out on thin lines too and see if it works as well! Thank you!
thank you so much sir ! ... love ur tutorials ..always thumbs up !
You're welcome! :)

that intro WTF HAHAHAHA LMAOOO deff subscribing
Hello! asap question please! How do you make that gradient color? do you have tutorial?
Why you have to make the waves sharper if you choose blur at first ???
Hi, I got these straight lines over in between my waves.. how do I get rid of them?
I did aswell - you have to create a shape layer and not a solid layer. Worked for me.
@@NicklasNordmark Ran into the same issue. Thanks for you comment enabling me a quick fix!
i don't seem to have this effect ! How do i add it ?
Why not just use a vector shape that keeps its crispness as it changes or does the warp effect change that?
hi, is it possible to parent wave wrap effect to the object? Let's say the effect is already applied and it's moving the way I want, but I just want the object to be connected to the layer with wave wrap, but this object shouldn't have wave warp effect.
😉👍👍👍
How did you added the gradient on the shapes? gradient ramp?
Hey John. I created the shapes in Illustrator and they indeed have a gradient :) You can also create the gradient in After Effects of course. You can change the fill colour of a shape to a gradient, you don't need the gradient ramp effect. Cheers!
Can i transform this effect in keyframes? I need to export in .json file using Bodymovin, but this plugin can't render effects, only keyframes
Hey! Unfortunately no you can't. The only way to create waves that are supported by Bodymovin is by doing it by hand, frame for frame. You can make the wave warp effect and when you're happy with it, put a shape layer above it and frame by frame, manually trace the wave effect. That's quite a lot of work but that's the only way this is possible at the moment. Cheers!
@@CampKeyframetutorials Thanks! It was an animation of only 5s, so I made it frame by frame, using the layer with this effect as a guide. It worked really well.
why dont u just turn up the antialiasing ?
Because that doesn't work ;) You can see that in the video aswell!
