Something happened between them after the film in 1976. The press story seems to be the catalyst for their split. But Rodney Bewes career never took off for some reason yet before 1976 he had a good tv, film theatre career. Weve all seen James Bolams career florish since then. Small roles but in the end theatre was Rodney Bewes salvation and he worked hard at it because he was good at it. His one man shows prove it. Its just a shame that they didn't speak to each other after the split. But we love them both for those great likely lads shows which have proved to be timeless.
