  • Hebrews 3 contains another warning about the consequences of disobeying God. The author warns the Hebrews not to disregard the sufficiency of Christ. This came from the generation of Israelites who left Egypt but never entered the Promised Land because of disbelief and disobedience.
The Israelites disbelieved God, so they disobeyed God, forfeiting the promises of God! They had enough faith to get out of Egypt but not enough to get into the Promised Land. Because they had hard heads and hearts, they experienced the consequences of disobeying God.
A rebellious heart is seen not only in animosity toward God but also in apathy toward God. Apathy leads to inaction, but faith is obedience in motion.
Your belief in God is evidenced by obedience to God. Your words reflect what you believe.
    Rebellion brings death.
    Repentance brings life.
    Choose Jesus. Choose life!
