  • Hi everyone, welcome to another Cheap Lazy Vegan grocery store haul! I'm so lazy to the point where I really don't like going grocery shopping, so I like to get things ordered straight to my house. The minimum delivery amount used to be £25 but apparently they've changed it at most grocery stores in the UK to a minimum of £40, which forced me to spend around £40 (in the end, it worked out to be a little bit less because they gave me less bananas).
I got a ton of food, which lasted me a really long time, and I still have a lot left that I've put into the freezer. Below, I provide you with the full grocery list so that you have an idea of what to buy next time you go to the grocery store! I love how I can get so much food for only £40, which is probably the amount of money I would spend in London for one night out (if not more).
Oh and most of this food is totally for me.... yeah, I eat a lot!

I'm new to being a vegan and find these videos informative as I'm in the UK too. Esp when you mentioned about bread products, I have allergies to dairy products and don't know much about the bread in the UK

+Faith Whispers Thanks for watching!! I'm glad my videos help - in terms of bread, most of them should be vegan friendly - just check the ingredients list and usually the milk products are in bold for allergy reasons :)

+Cheap Lazy Vegan thank you for your reply. It's amazing though how much bread does contain dairy though, but have found most KingsMill product are okay and super tasty

Make sure to check the labels of the frozen vegetarian patties :) A lot of them tend to contain eggs and dairy, though I've never shopped from Sainsbury's before so theirs may be fine

Love frozen veggies as well. And I like frozen cherries for my oatmeal. Yum. But you may want to check the veggie burgers. Here in the US many of them say vegetarian, but they are not always vegan. But you are right, when eating out you pay so much more. Shopping is so much cheaper. And having frozen veggies and some canned beans at hand makes it a bit easier on days when you do not want to cook. I also love coconut milk. Toss that in with some veggies and curry powder. Yum.

We shop at the same place, the Puree is very thick, also i walked into iceland today and they sell veggie and bean burgers for £1.00 a box, and aldi/lidl sell chick pea's for 35p a can and kidney beans for 23p..
could you do a tesco/poundland/99p treats run?? :)

Sainsburys stock pitta bread by a company called Food Doctor that is full of grains and cereals and super healthy. They are circular in shape so would be perfect for Pizzas. I believe they're vegan.

You don't get round pitta in Britain. I didn't even know it was a thing until you just mentioned it. In the same way that you can't get a square baguette, you can only get oval pitta :) (also, little bit of extra trivia, we pronounce it pih-tah instead of pee-tah)

Great video. The mini easy peelers are clementines, cross between mandarin/pummelo/sweet orange. The cabbage is Nappa Cabbage or Chinese Cabbage, believed to be a cross between Bok Choy and Turnip.

I love your videos! In a month I am going to move to England to start university (probably in London) and I am totally surprised! The prices are very convenient. I'm currently living in Italy and everybody is telling me that London is very expensive but I think the food is cheaper than here (specially the sweet potatoes and broccoli). Do you always shop at Sainsbury's or you switch shops from time to time? I've heard is one of the cheapest. Also do you ever shop at Lidl (is one of the cheapest here in Italy). I don't know what to say about the pita bread as I can't find it here but once I found it in Spain and it was just like the one you bought; maybe is European style pita bread ahah. Also I looked it up and wholemeal means that the whole-grains have been milled to a finer texture but still have their three layers intact.

Your groceries are far less expensive than in the United States and probably superior quality asfar as pesticide residue and GMO contamination goes. They deliver!! Do you order online or call in an order? How awesome, just wondering how it works.

+Cheap Lazy Vegan After accounting for measurement units and currency conversions, the same food in the US is about 3 times the cost at the least expensive store in the area where I live. Oh, and the only delivery available is pizza!! Yep, the system is totally bass ackwards. That's what you get when your gov serves special interests to subsidize meat, dairy, and pharmaceuticals.
