The Takeya and others with hinges will break. I didn't see any video coverage of the gaskets and how easy it is to clean these lids. If the gasket is too recessed or difficult to remove, then bacteria is going to build up in there and cause health issues. That's more important to me than any of the stuff mentioned in most lid reviews.
For those who are wondering, The spout cap is not attached to the lid to prevent breakage over time from frequent opening and closing, especially for heavy users. The size of the spout is intentionally big, as a small one would limit the amount you can drink at once. Overall, this design effectively addresses several issues.
True, it does help with a few issues. It's not our favorite lid, but it's grown on us more since we made this video. If we made this video again today, we'd have a more positive review. We still wish the spout was a little smaller diameter because it feels like it lets a little too much water out, but that's just our opinion. Other people have commented that they like it that way.
The Flex Chug should be a little smaller. I just measured the Flex Chug inside diameter, and it's about 1-1/8" across. I don't have a standard mouth Hydro Flask in front of me right now, but I believe it's closer to 1-3/4".
Takeya = the bottle "sweats" from condensation and everything around it also gets wet. Hydro Flask = cheap lid/handle, the handle on the cap broke off.
If the vacuum seal is still intact, then theoretically it shouldn't sweat. But thanks for bringing this up. This is something I've wanted to test more in our next big comparison video. Will try it with our takeya.
If you're strictly looking at cost, then you could say the same thing about the bottle. But branding is an amazing thing, and a lot of people still want the authentic product. I wish I could figure out how to make such amazing brand loyalty with our BottlePro products!
i love when companies put the cap threads in the mouth piece so mold can grow in the nooks :)

"you might end up drinking too much water"
😂😂😂
Is the opening of the chug lid the same size as a standard mouth hydro flask bottle?

Hi
Good video
🇬🇧
Thank you!
That y its called a chug not sip 😅
There are enough aftermarket lids that nobody needs to buy a Hydro Flask lid of any kind.
