We lost the first 3 games and did not know what to think about it. Once you accept the instant death possibility its ok. Its quite an achievement to steal from the dragon chamber and escape from the board alive :D
If you can actually make it to the dragon lair and get some loot…. ESCAPING the dungeon at near death and racing against time is some of the most intense moments in all of board gaming lol
Great guideline ! I did not know how to start. I would definitely fall into the following combo: systems (I'm not keen on working with tools), structured play (the journaling exercise is not what I like, I prefer rules for combat, hp, character sheet..) and sandbox (so I really feel I can choose where I want to go & what I want to do.) Time to find the grail!
Love the new format. You packed an incredible amount of info into a short video. One question remains: Can you find loot that improves your character in some way? I might have missed that part potentially.
Hey! This game was originally released -85 in Sweden as Drakborgen. The manufacturer Alga is making a -23 edition in Swedish avail for preorder now. I know some people place an order and then play with the english rulebook, or you could learn some swedish:-) Keep up the good work!
Of all the games you've played so far, which ones do the best job of randomly creating a dungeon? Also, which games are the best solo experiences in your opinion?
@@TheDungeonDive It's still top 5 for me. Just so cool. Do you plan on writing any adventures for it for Patreon? I vaguely remember you mentioning it on a video, and that's something I can get behind :D
I know it's possible to make WHQ, but do you know if the files for Dungeonquest are somewhere as well? It's silly expensive at the moment and I don't know if trying to use the 3rd edition to play it would be as good an experience. The rules seems very different.
DungeonQuest, Warhammer Quest & Space Hulk are all well loved and it seems crazy that GW has not capitalized on the nastalgia by releasing these games again. Given the success of HeroQuest by Hasbro you would think at least one person from GW would look at that say, hey, look at all these old and loved games, we can do that but better. Instead they focus all their energy on suing indie UA-cam channels and raising prices while giving you less content and developing seasons and dripping out content that should have been in the core box to begin with. I love DungeonQuest and it should be reprinted for a new generation to also love.

definitely enjoyed the new format! i feel like a mixture of your extended discussions and some quick hit videos is great
Thx for the review! Really love this short format to get a general idea about a game!

I have played hundreds games of dragon quest, I love the complete random nature of it, but you have to play it with the correct group of people...

I agree with the others! This new format is great.

Thanks! Not really a loot / character progression game. There are a few one use items.
Couple one use items but you also can find amulets that grant the wearer magical abilities or possibly curses.
One of my all time fav games!!!!!

Yeah! That new version looks super cool. Thanks for the added info! Appreciate it.
My favorite dungeon crawler of all time
Good stuff!
yeah really liked the format of this video.
Thanks!
I've got the FFG version but I far prefer the charm and aesthetic of the original.
Good luck finding this game.

Secrets of the Lost Tomb.
LOVE this game - maybe as much as Talisman!
Both in my top 10. :)
@@TheDungeonDive and Dungeon Degenerates? You could be my brother from another mother! :D
DD is on my top 50.

Great video Dan!

I do not know. 3rd edition is a perfectly fine game. If that's all I had, the game would still be in my top 10.

I love the new WHQ games. Silver Tower is one of two games in my masterclass series. GW continues to make good board games.
I was under the impression this game was out of print. Has someone heard if it's coming back into print?
It's out of print. I think there is a new Swedish version coming soon? Someone mentioned it in the comments.
What do you think about the third edition?
Thank you.
It’s great.
@@TheDungeonDive May I ask what are your thoughts about Nemesis? Thank you for your interesting content!
Never played.
rubber bands?! Sinner!
And I don’t sleeve most of my games, and I riffle shuffle!
Is this game still in print anywhere?
No.
