On March 25, 2018, shortly after sunrise local time, Ryan Sandes and Ryno Griesel touched the border of Nepal and officially finished their Fastest Known Time (FKT) attempt of the Great Himalaya Trail - smashing Andrew Porter’s 2016 record of the same route by three days. Running a total of 1,504 km in a total of 25d 4h 24m, Ryan and Ryno set a new FKT record.
Over the course of 25 days, the two runners battled and overcame a mixture of challenges including frost bite, injury, sleep deprivation, and, in the last days, a violent gang. That said, together they pushed themselves forward, brought together by their equally fierce determination to power through and complete the epic run.

Hey, just curious what you’ve been working on athletically in the couple years since you posted this?
@@Maniac45864 well last year I got far enough to compete in my school's cross country team and was able to get a sub 22 min time on a 5k actually!!! This year I'm pushing for a half marathon by the end but, realistically i have a LOT of work to do getting anywhere near
My main push is just distance running, but overall just to be a more healthy person
@@protical261 Well nice job. That's a good time for your 5k! Hope you're able to keep accomplishing things. I'd definitely encourage the half marathon. Personally though I'm finding a lot more fun and interest going on trails and some bigger mountains in the cascades near by. The roads now feel pretty boring lol. Have fun!
