Chris, this was an awesome video. Really appreciate you taking the time to explain your side of the industry. The editing, drone footage, B role, and music just keeps getting better!!! Been trucking 22 years and ag hauling is my passion, hopper bottom to be specific. The equipment, the people you haul for and haul to are some of the hardest working and down to earth people you will ever meet. I hope to get back to it as soon as I can and get out of the heavy haul business. Thanks for another top-notch episode, and hope to see many more!!!💯💯💯
I was hesitant on making a video like this, kinda out of my norm 😂 Thanks for all the great comments triple L 🚛💨💨💨
Nothing second class about any of that. This video deserves a million views because quality counts. 🏆
Appreciate that Adco!!!! 💯💯💯
Good stuff Mr Chris. i love being in the AG business. I feel truly blessed to have been in & around it all my life. Be safe out there 806 & hammer down. Peace
Very blessed as well North Country! You be safe out there buddy 🚛💨💨💨💨🔨⬇️
New subscriber, I started hauling fertilizer last year and I really enjoy helping the farming community specially having a farming background
It is some of the best trucking out there for sure! Welcome to the channel buddy 🚛💨💨💨
Just a great video Chris, thanks for giving us ex truckers here in the UK the heads up about the AG trucking industry in the USA. It’s a completely different world to our AG trucking industry, it’s the same working / driving hours as general haulage, don’t matter what you haul you work under the same rules.
Always enjoyed the AG work although spent 26 years working on waste disposal, tankers, hazardous and general dry waste, there’s another set of rules to have to operate under but still the same hours etc.
You stay safe my friend, admire your philosophy about being home, family time so important. Over here in the UK I say keep well to the left hand side of the road, over there in your part of the world best you stay well to the right hand side..
I pull the same trailer as you do out of the Baltimore port to farmers Pa. Great video.
Thanks Roger!!! Keep them farmers moving 🚛💨💨💨
Great video and I agree, running heavy all the time is extra hard on the equipment .... grease those king pins and U/J's, check those brake linings and stay safe .... regards from England.
Yes sir Julian, got to take time to keep that maintenance in check!!! Hope all is good with you over there in the England!!!
Great video Chris. I've watched it several times trying to learn all I can. Thank you for going over some of the inside details. I'm looking to move out that way sometime this winter and want to get into ag work. Stay safe and keep these videos coming.
Glad it was helpful!
Plainview Texas here!
Been a pipeline welder for 13 yrs as well as a cattle rancher. Bought a semi, cattle pot and just bought a hopper bottom. Would love to visit with you about what route to take. Thank you sir
Great video and exclusive explanation of the AG life
Thanks buddy! Have a great day!!!!🚛💨💨💨

I hope to be hauling in the AG industry in the next year or so. I’m wanting to buy an older truck International Cabover to be exact. Someday hopefully. Subbed.
Another good one. Enjoyed the video and the knowledge and appreciate your help. Be safe out there!
Hope you are back up and running buddy!!! 🚛💨💨💨💨
Really enjoy this channel, this was a great video. Thank you for really putting the effort into your channel. ~ Michael
Appreciate that Michael!!! Have a great day 😎
Good video!!
Ran a couple Fertalizer loads out in California . Hauled diesel exhaust fluid the most did it for five months loved it man but it just didn’t pay .31 cents a mile
Man, we have really good rates out here in Texas for now anyways..
Keep up the good love the content
Thanks Riley!!! 🚛💨💨💨
Been there done that, and don't want to do it again.
You can be fine aking questions. Do your homework on the person you want speak too. It will make them at ease to answer you. They see you came prepared.
Your doing a hell of job When I get down your way I hope we cross paths
Heck yeah! If you do, holler at me on the radio buddy!!!
@@806Driver Will do Driver, I'm running a Rig that you'll get a kick out of
Great video, man!
Awesome video Chris! This is exactly what I want to get into. Just hard to find a spot with no CDL experience. I’m an hr from Tulsa so you was pretty close to my neck of the woods.
I would probably bite the bullet and get one with anyone I could ie Prime etc. Get your experience 6 mos or so, then start looking, If I lived in that area Oakley would be at the top of the list…
@@806Driver I was under the impression that Oakley was only owner op pulling there trailers. I’ll have to look into that. Yes I’m starting to think I’m just gonna have to bite the bullet and get on with a big company for a bit. I appreciate all the advice and the videos. It keeps me motivated and pushing to my goals. Thanks Chris! Hope to see you around sometime!
@Benny Whited thanks for that Benny! I know there out there just a lot harder to find lol. Good luck with your new adventure!
@@dustin4992 yes sir!!! That is true Oakley is strictly O/Os you could go sit at the port and see who all is coming in and out, find a local one that way. Good luck Dustin!!!
@@806Driver that’s a thought. Take a couple vacation days and go spot large cars. Been on a farm my whole life and currently in the oilfield just ready to get back to my ag roots. Can’t wait for the next video! Keep the hammer down!
Great informative vid for anyone looking to get into the AG trade. When you become an owner operator, will you be staying with the boss man or is there another side of trucking you'd like to jump into? ✌️🇬🇧
Great video Chris!! How do you go about finding loads? I am looking into getting my own rig and I live in Tulia Tx. All I've hauled is mainly ag commodities but seems like it's more about who you know when looking for loads. Is there a broker i should probably start with or do I just start making calls to plants and feedlots?
What’s up Luis! Man, you are sure right about the who you know thing, but Jaybee uses some 3rd party hauling feed out of Lubbock, just takes 90 days before you start getting checks rolling in, Gavilon and Atterbury are good sources to get started with until you can make some better contacts.. Good luck bud!
I like the information and I have a lot more questions about the ag side of trucking
Shoot them at me, I’ll try to help all I can 😎
Love the videos. I’ve had a cdl for 3 years but never drove for a living because I’m a heavy equipment mechanic. Looking to get into driving instead of wrenching. I got a 359 right now. Looking to move from Wisconsin and move to southern Oklahoma. What’s the best way to get started for someone in my situation?
I pull the same trailer as you do out of Baltimore port and deliver to farmers in Pa. Need twic card for this port
Heck yeah! No Twic card needed here though!
I’d start looking on the internet for the area you are moving to? Indeed, Craigslist jobs, Facebook etc. Oakley is also a good spot to check with, but I think they only lease on truck that are 10 yrs old or newer,, love those 359’s 🚛💨💨💨
I love the vids! I want to get my own rig and haul hopper bottoms. I haul sweetbran cattle feed out of bovina tx...what are the good load boards for grain, soybeans etc?
Bulkloads is a good place to start along with Oakley, also good to get in with Atterbury and Gavilon 🚛💨💨💨
@@806Driver thank you !!!
I just bought a truck looking for some work . Live in amarillo also looking to lease on. Do you know any where i can may be get on board?
Open deck, ag, and oversize have a LONG way to go before automated trucks happen. Won't be in my lifetime (1990)
I enjoy your videos some day maybe I can buy you a cup of coffee I run up and down 287 sometimes. Be safe
Look forward to it Bob!!!
Do you guys run off a load board ? Like could you find loads on load board if you get a bottom hopper or you have to have your on customers
We have dedicated customers. Try to stay away from load boards if at all possible.
Do those tables have baffles in them ? And how often do u run into rattler snakes ??
They do have baffle’s.. These trailers pull very good!!! Rattlesnakes and west Texas go hand in hand 😂 🐍
And do u have a hazmat too ?
No Hazmat
Do you think that driving a stick makes you a better driver. Do you think that driving a stick is fun. I call a automatic transmission in a vehicle a rolling recliner.
What size hydraulic tank do you have?
30 gallon with a inline cooler
