Impressive! Very Nice! You two have an unusually Great Chemistry! Lots of good comments and observations here! The Balkan music was very impressive on a number of levels. One intriguing combination was how the tuba would do a regular accent or push simultaneously with the cymbal. Though I am in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, I cannot remember that done so tastefully! (Usually the bass and the bass drum are one, etc.) Definitely added to a magical folk touch. The integration of Klesmer, Greek, Romanian, Bulgarian with western jazz etc. gets one thinking along the lines of a paradigm or "limited paradigm" to combine select nations. The universal becomes more universal. And what your guest said about writing music, for a heightened understanding and feel for the basics of a genre - or combination of genres - rang out with Truth loud and clear. And what was most delightful was the two of you playing together - a unity of what appears to be the two most humble virtuosos in the world. This was so unique and attractive to my western ear I was immediately addicted! I hope you two will do some albums together - at least Live Recordings - so I can feed my addiction!
Great video. For several years, I belonged to a folk dance group and we did mostly Balkan stuff. Your analysis was very enlightening.
Hey, I get to make the first comment. Cool! 🤣 I love your channel. A wealth of great information. Thank you. The music reminds me of some of the odd time signature stuff that Don Ellis did (like “Pussy Wiggle Stomp”), which was influenced by Balkan music.

Very interesting topic! @Booby you need to check Hora Staccato by Grigoras Dinicu. Basically it is for violin, but trumpet versions are much better! Greetings from Eastern Europe!
