12:25 To be fair, pretty sure Matoya noted this back in Heavensward when Y'shtola was notably much weaker. Thirty more levels can do a lot for one's aether reserves :)
No it can't! Your MP is 10,000 at level 1 and it will be 10,000 at level 100! :p (Seriously, I can't be the only one that's weird to. The pre-ShB days made so much more sense with your MP and HP pools both increasing with levels...)
6.x was not MSQ. It was the Trial Series dresed up as MSQ. Pandaemonium and Myths of the Realm should've been the post Kinowalker MSQ. This post expansion cycle was a massive dropped ball.
I have friends ask why I avoid even the trailers for the game now. Because I don't want to predict that over arching story as easily as I have been. More so in patches.
It's pretty telling how you spent almost the entire video deadpanning a mockery of the patch story until Wuk Lamat comes on screen, your voice becomes (slightly) livelier, and you start summarizing rather than mocking. I really like her, and she fills a void in the main cast that's been empty since pretty much ARR. I hope when she gets sent upstate to the waifu farm like all the other non-Y'shtola waifus her ticket says "Ruler of a nation" rather than "Dies for Drama".
I'm not 100% sure, but basically if Zenos's voidsent partner was the Warrior of Light on the 13th, would that make Zenos a Warrior of Light on the Source in some way? ...that or that he secretly wanted to turn you into his sex slave...but that's an open secret at this point?
I don't fully agree. Oh, don't get me wrong, I found 6.2-6.5 kind of...bland. But not everything you ding on it is fair. I've been thinking since sometime in ShB that funneling the excess Light from the First to the Void would be a neat way to equalize the two and maybe restore the Void. It made me think of a sorta similar concept from the Wheel of Time books where a solution to a problem was basically pitting two opposite polarized evils against each other to destructively interfere. I felt it was just kind of a neat idea if there was a way to do it, and indeed, might be the ONLY way to restore the Void. I do agree that a lot of the character stuff was kind of bland, and the retreads of Zero figuring out like three or four times "Oh right, I can just trust these new friends", and it seemed like they rushed through 6.2 and 6.3's Fiends as these grand generals with armies that we...never bothered with...only for them to then DRAG OUT the last two. We beat Golbez! Now we need to run off and come back in 4 months with the patch because we have to have Zeromus as the final Extreme and can't do it just yet! I don't think it was bad, but I think the pacing was not well done. 6.1 I liked. 6.2 and 6.3 could have been done more logically (the "diversion" stuff was just stupid), build up the darkness army, then 6.4 could have been fighting them and 6.5 could have been going after Golbez and Zeromus at once as the big bads responsible for it all. And we didn't need dozens of scenes of people eating food. I did think the Garlean political stuff WAS well done - it fit the character of the Garleans to be proud, even to their detriment, as well as Vritra being a shrewd diplomat and understanding a way for them to save face. The concept is stupid, but have you seen politics and political leaders? It was true to life accurate as all hell. THAT PART made perfect sense. I also thought the part with Troia wasn't BADLY done, and the part with Zero's Domain was pretty well done. It was collectively the biggest lore dump on the Void and how it and its denizens operate we've gotten in 10 years. I consider that worthwhile and interesting. But from basically the end of the Barb fight on until the pre-DT stuff in this last patch, the stuff between those two points was just like "What? Why? Why even?"
Speaking as someone who paid little attention to story and only watches this to get a rough idea of what’s going on… is he being serious when connecting Zero and Zenos as the same person. Because that’s wild if zero is the WoL in the 13th while being somehow connected to Zenos…
I'm glad that I've read Nekopara now, and can understand all of the deep lore of the Misshapen chair channel. By the way: Coconut > Maple > Azuki > Vanilla > Chocola > Cinnamon. And you can fight me about it.
I didnt take that serious post endwalker so in a way enjoy it, but dawntrail its just bad, all the relevance that was given to wok lamat could have been shared with Eren and Kraile, but no, its all wok lamat
9:05 --- "Xwitter" XDXDXD 12:45 --- Yeah, upsets me everytime... only to then learn recently: its a translation "oopsie" and the draining isnt as serious as we are let to believe... So that whole plotpoint is moot - if it ever was one: after all, except for that one (ONE!) time Matoya mentions it, it never comes up again - and we are three expansions in without anyone else speaking of it. So, yeah, if they bring it back in DT... ... that would be lame. 36:25 --- No, its not: the switch was obvious when we got the blue crystal flashback... 48:50 --- Whats your point? YoshiP already said, unless you pay for the skip, there wont be any. Whether thats good or bad you'll have to decide for yourself (I think its good), but going on a tantrum that DT is where new and veteran players have to figure out stuff... There wont be any new players in the DT zones - except the skippers that dont care for plot anyway. I wasnt too happy with post-EW, either... I liked the dungeons and trials that came with it, and I do believe its a setup for later (just like the Warriors of Darkness back in HW), but as Alisiae said: I would've liked if our adventures would've stayed "closer to home" after saving the Universe. Still, totally hyped for DT so there's that.
oh okay i feel super validated to hear you sum up your thoughts about these patches. i completely quit after 6.1 and recently marathoned them when there was a free login period and hoo boy. these patches felt like the devs were asleep at the wheel and going on autopilot with the indulgent references.
Really starting to get tired of the "Bad guy is actually just a good guy that had bad stuff happen and it's really tragic please feel bad for him" trope in every single piece of media from the last 20 years. Sometimes people can just... Be evil. Doesn't have to have a half-assed tearjerker stapled on to the last 10 minutes. It's just a tactic to make you feel _an_ emotion near the end of the story so you remember it being better than it actually is. But hey, people keep eating it up like it's the best thing since sliced orgasms so it'll keep happening. My money's on this war mongering asshat in Dawntrail is just an ambitious yet misguided warrior who wants his country to be strong and prosperous. There's no chance he's going to actually be evil.
I commented on the Sea of Stars video and the vid blew up. Hope it works again. If not I'll take it as a sign that your non-XIV content is what true Gamers want.
12:21 Matoya's whole spiell about that is actually just a mistranslation the original JP version only implies using her Aethersight is tiring and not some sort of life-threatening consequence 🤓
12:21 was this not some kind of translation mistake? like "You need to use Aether to see!" but in the end you restore your aether by eat some stuff etc

"She's here! BARBACOA" that caught me so off gaurd 😂
(Seriously, I can't be the only one that's weird to. The pre-ShB days made so much more sense with your MP and HP pools both increasing with levels...)
@@SubduedRadical no one said that her aether reserves equated to MP though.
Its kind of crazy to me that they introduced the idea of Dynamis in endwalker and it was mentioned, maybe once in the patches?
That Vergil edit was immaculate, absolutely wild. 🎉
6.x was not MSQ. It was the Trial Series dresed up as MSQ. Pandaemonium and Myths of the Realm should've been the post Kinowalker MSQ. This post expansion cycle was a massive dropped ball.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who absolutely hated this storyline, thank you Chair, the jokes and gin helped me finally finish it.
Rofl all the paladin jabs, chair on fire as always no matter the content he covers
The RE4 joke....*chef's kiss*
"There's more to life than rent" - words to live by.
you are my favorite FFXIV ASMR sleep videos
Damn I missed these MFSQ vids, great work as usual chair.
😂 I always wait for your story synopsis. I can’t believe how hard I laughed at this one.
This whole rent bit had me dying
How did you make a Code Ment reference on the one fucking day we get a new Code Ment?
Have you ever considered I'm just that good?
Wait that's a thing??
WE GOT A NEW CODE MENT?
Tripple communio under pot! My only weakness!
As a rpr main who basically never does tripple enshroud cause I'm a fking casual, I liked that joke
sounds implausible, but i literally had the thought that chair was my favorite ffxiv content creator before i went to sleep. nice surprise
This is so much better than the actual patch lol.
I have friends ask why I avoid even the trailers for the game now.
Because I don't want to predict that over arching story as easily as I have been. More so in patches.
Yay, another of the series!
zero was my most hated character right up until dawntrail
the chapters being "five point one" when its 6.x has sent me into hysterics
It's pretty telling how you spent almost the entire video deadpanning a mockery of the patch story until Wuk Lamat comes on screen, your voice becomes (slightly) livelier, and you start summarizing rather than mocking. I really like her, and she fills a void in the main cast that's been empty since pretty much ARR.
I hope when she gets sent upstate to the waifu farm like all the other non-Y'shtola waifus her ticket says "Ruler of a nation" rather than "Dies for Drama".
You're going to have to explain 40:33 and the Zenos thing.
I dont get it either
I'm not 100% sure, but basically if Zenos's voidsent partner was the Warrior of Light on the 13th, would that make Zenos a Warrior of Light on the Source in some way?
...that or that he secretly wanted to turn you into his sex slave...but that's an open secret at this point?
Yo. The bit about changing to Canticle meaning fetch-quest fully laid me out on the floor.
1:21 ok I’m really digging the voice acting in this one
I cant tell if that’s a real name or not I’m so behind 3:20
Skipped all the patch content after 6.2, after watching this I'm glad. the MMO parts of Endwalker and original story carried hard
As someone from Ohio, I am not understanding why Ohio has become the Raid Boss of the United States. But I still laugh every time.
thanks I got hit with dementia and extreme sleep for post endwalker
Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe for Kaiten.
lets gooooo new chair video!!
Yoshi did Golbez dirty fr
Gaia being about 1000 years old is always a blessing
April fool's day? The perfect day.
Why? Why even?"
Dude, the post patch story was very well, stop being a contrarian. No way its going to be on par with 6.0
@@fredy2041 Huh?
Did you...watch the video? I was somewhat countering his point that it sucked.
@@SubduedRadical Your contradicting yourself a lot
@@fredy2041 Can you provide some examples of this contradiction that's happening "a lot"?
@@SubduedRadical Kid, the 2nd patch was well, done, Zero's character was also well done. There was never a moment of why, what, when
Speaking as someone who paid little attention to story and only watches this to get a rough idea of what’s going on… is he being serious when connecting Zero and Zenos as the same person.
I love chair
I didnt take that serious post endwalker so in a way enjoy it, but dawntrail its just bad, all the relevance that was given to wok lamat could have been shared with Eren and Kraile, but no, its all wok lamat
Obligatory algorithm comment for an awesome video! The rent jokes were too real 😂
I didn't see this video in my feed at all time to consume
Another masterpiece :3
masterpiece
Oof the Barbie EX trial
9:05 --- "Xwitter" XDXDXD
12:45 --- Yeah, upsets me everytime... only to then learn recently: its a translation "oopsie" and the draining isnt as serious as we are let to believe...
Genuine banger
Here we go!
😂 laughed so hard. 🤣 ty. Can't wait 4r more
oh okay i feel super validated to hear you sum up your thoughts about these patches. i completely quit after 6.1 and recently marathoned them when there was a free login period and hoo boy. these patches felt like the devs were asleep at the wheel and going on autopilot with the indulgent references.
No, the post story was good, your a contrarian, move on dude.
Kururu is a character from the Air Gear series, Mr. Misshapen Chair. Unfortunately, is not a catgirl.
Best summary
Thanks for shortening the story for me, now I can skip cutscenes.
So Gaia did appear? I never finished the Eden raids so I didn't knew she appear
wake up babe, new MFSQ dropped
map of ohio lol - best content
The unregistered hypercam. like how in the world..
wait this game has a story?
I just thought it had parts you mash trough dialogue boxes and skip cutscenes.
Deadass?
Заставил нас подождать.
12:21 Matoya's whole spiell about that is actually just a mistranslation the original JP version only implies using her Aethersight is tiring and not some sort of life-threatening consequence 🤓
So about that Dawntrail video...
Gigachaden Chair, Strikes once again.
I died at triple communio XD
Man you really love code ment
ugh 6.1 and 6.2 bringing back the 00s was great
How much dignity did you lose replicating Y'shtola's familiar mantra.
Did I hear a rock and stone?!
12:21 was this not some kind of translation mistake? like "You need to use Aether to see!" but in the end you restore your aether by eat some stuff etc
Solid Barbacoa editing.
Top Tier Comedy! 🤣
His right hand comes off ?
i cant stawp laughinnnnnnnng lmao T w T
chad
Surprisingly, no furry joke
FFXIV: quality whiplash
Wrong, grow up.
As someone who absolutely hated their time with EndWalkers story, this just seems like the exact same problems I had with it but shorter and with less genocide apologia.
i like u man
dynamis me with that gay shit is a bar
Ohno! Not Canticle!
