Made in America, Or Not Made At All. - Розваги
A lever gun with a box magazine. I like it !
How long before someone offers magazines in capacities guaranteed to set hoplophobes to screaming?
Savage made lever guns in model 99. They were very popular but Savage discontinued making them in the 90's. Too bad. They are really sweet weapons. They were unique in that the bolt didn't come back toward your nose when working the action. The short bolt dropped down into the back of the receiver. Winchester also tried their hand at the detachable magazine in their model 88. If you find either the Savage 99 or the Win 88 you will find they are generally pretty expensive if they're in good condition.
@@Mark-uq9km Yep, the Savage model 99 was made for 100 years. From 1899 to 1998 I think.
My Winchester 303 has a clip that you top feed, yes it's a lever action,
Different. Like my bolt actions
When my son was eleven (he’s 22 now) we had a HENRY, 22 Lever Action that the Magazine Spring Tube failed. HENRY called when I was gone, they asked my son for the Serial Number, he said the firearm is locked up and he was not allowed to handle firearms without supervision. The HENRY Representative said THATS right and got the address and sent us the part! I have told this story before, I think both sides handled the situation perfectly. My Son at Eleven conducted his first Business Call and did not violate Safety Teachings and HENRY was Great and I believe complemented my son on his conduct! Thanks HENRY, I’m looking at a Large Bore in the near future! God Bless HENRY Firearms & God Bless America!
That's awesome 😁
Henry handled a warranty issue for me perfectly. Nobody is always perfect the first time. They made absolutely sure they got it perfect the second time for me. I'm a big fan of Henry.
Henry is a TRUE, typical American arms maker. I have a couple of Ruger revolvers that had screw heads that looked like they were put together with someone that doesn't know how to use a screwdriver. I also had one set of wood grips that were damaged near the screw. A call to Ruger got the parts shipped out right away at no charge. After purchasing a Boyd's stock for my Ruger American Rimfire rifle, Ruger sent me the bedding blocks at no charge, even though they were not a warranty replacement.
There is nothing better than dealing with a true American company.
"MADE IN AMERICA, OR NOT MADE AT ALL."
@@arrlmember so why tell a Ruger story??
Bought one for my first rifle. Action is smooth as silk, walnut is bloody beautiful, and it shoots 1" groups with Hornady TAP 60gr. Can't fault it, what a rifle.
Been trying to buy one for a year. Can't find any. Have only found scammers.

Build in a Ruger 204 cal. My go to for woodchuck hunting !!
That is a really nice setup.
My .243 is Bolt Action accurate. Just love it.
henry is probably the smoothest lever action out there. started with a 22 cal and one of the most accurate and smooth rifle i ever shot. the quality is hard to find. i may have to purchase me this 223 rifle. looks nice.
Welcome back sir & thank you for taking your time on reviewing HRA's rifles! Keep em' comin'!
Well done Henry
thank u plinkster. as of a month ago i am a proud owner of my 1st Henry ever chambered in 22lr carbine. I have several rifles and this one is my favorite. now I want a big boy!!
Love my Henry Long Ranger in .308 Winchester!
Yep
Thanks a lot... now you got me thinkin'!!!
Good hunting rifle
Nicely done. As always, great video.
Great video. Thank you
I am extremely impressed by that performance. I was surprised that the 50 and 62gr performed about the same, so that's great for an all around rifle for hunting, plinking, and a defensive rifle.
looks and shoots great!
That's a slick rifle
Didn't even know this existed until last night, I've never seen one in stores.
I just found out about them and I want one!
You keep costing me money Plinkster!!!
kalel01a Lol, sorry!
Yeah but how does it compare to collecting stamps
great video sir and a awesome rifle
johnny kirkland Thank you.
Next purchase
Henry always comes out with new lever guns that I want to have. I'm going to have to look into getting one now.
WOW . . . what a rig , and beautiful too ! Leave it to Henry . Thanks be
Very versatile carbine.
Thanks for sharing
Beautiful shooting ..these Henry rifles really shoot well I guess ..worth every penny
I like all, I mean all and every Henry's guns. I would like to see Henry make a brass 12 gauge double barrel coach shotgun just to get involved with side by side's. They can go stainless too.
Beautiful rifle!
Great video review.
Now the question comes up of who will be the first to come up with a 10 round magazine
The world may never know
I just picked one up, I’m excited to take it out soon.
Luckyyyyy
Made in USA. That's apply to and for everything 😃 (and the products of America's partners Mex/Canada). Thanks for share
I want that rifle!
I ordered one in 223 a month ago. Cant wait to get my hands on it :)
I own two Henry's, and love them, but there is something strange about a .223 lever action. LOL, just realized, I might be getting old, and set in my ways a bit. If it from Henry, it's gotta be quality. Great review.
There has been the Browning blr for decades now
I'm 22 years old and I feel the same way... Knowing Henry, its gonna be high quality, and it seems pretty accurate.
Think there is an older one from Savage 99 also. I prefer a good lever over a bolt action. Problems with one hand make bolt actions kind of risky for me. Actually a struggle. I didn't expect the accuracy. Good to know!
Savage does make a 223
@@stevelucier8346
I own a few lever action rifles made by Marlin, Savage, Marlin/Remington and they are all pretty accurate with a scope on them. Groups at 100yds range from 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches on all of them.
Although on the Savage model 99 I had to put a stock cheek pad on it to raise my head to the proper height for the scope. It shot very well after doing that.
I get 1/2” group w my Henry 22 lever at 70yards. Many times same hole. W Simmons scope I took off my air gun.
That beautiful ball of fire love it!
Damn it another one I need
I need this in .300 blackout. This would be the perfect suppressor host for me. Just my opinion lol
I want a 350 legend version with iron sights.
Its weird hearing the hammer click then hearing the round
Geez Louise, Plinkster. Another one to add to my need list! :(
Weird how the groups tended to go lower and to the left each round of shots.
That is what a rifle should be, well made, good looking, and most importantly accurate.
Thanks.
How about a 16 or 18 inch barrel with an 8 twist
.338 Federal would be great!
Three shots are three shots groups are five shots.
Yeah, on my list !
your target PIP is spot on. There are a couple other channels I wish would copy your set-up
Good video; am impressed with Henry's products. Have an ar 7 which also is very accurate.
For those who haven't seen my replies below, the twist rate for this .223/5.56 Long Ranger is 1 in 9. The .243 and .308 versions have a 1 in 10 twist, according to the information found on the Henry Website.
I don't understand why it isn't a 1 in 7 or 8 twist rate?
that would definitely explain why it likes the lighter loads
@@webmastercaribou7570 Because 1in 9 is a good middle ground. He just shot 50gr, 62gr, and 69gr. It may not like the 40gr or 75gr, but the 1:9 is a good middle ground twist.
I want this rifle pretty bad for my kids to deer hunt with. Wish it was a 1/7 for my Frontier 75g Hornady BTHP. Hitting the same hole at 100y with a dot sight from my ar
Yesterday here in Northern Wis. it was 40 degrees and windy and I hit a 16 oz bottle at 100 yards with my Henry Big Boy in .357 with the buckhorn sights on my first shot. Next month for my 60th birthday I am getting the .45-70 H010. Can't wait. Love my Henry.
That .357 Big Boy is a beautiful rifle.
The concept of Henry TV, narrated by Plinkster, talking about Henry rifles is an incredible idea. I can't think of a better way to feed my gun fix need. I have three Henry's and getting ready to order two more from my LGS as soon as hurricane Irma passes by. Thank you sir........on to my next Henry TV video.
I have two 22 rifles. One came with a small problem. I sent it back and it came back better than perfect, fast. I am a fan of Henry.
I have this gun but I have a Skinner peep sight. I got a 2 inch group at 75 yards using some steel ammo I had while resting it on the deck in the backyard. I'm no professional but I think that was pretty solid. I'm definitely happy with it.
Should offer an optional 10 round mag
Ten round mags when!?
Now imagine custom loads tuned to the rifle. Wow.
I love my Henry’s! About to purchase number 6!!!
I also have six. Three Big Boys, a Golden Boy, a H001 and a H001T. I love them all. My only complaint is that the Golden boy should have the receiver cover drilled and tapped for a scope mount like the Ruger 10/22. I guess I'll have to take care of that myself since I don't like their current method of scope mounting.
You do great reviews. I just ordered one, and I'm going to put an Arken SH4 Gen II 4-16x50 ffp.
good job.
That is one nice rifle.
WOW. And there are shooters who claim lever actions are inaccurate. An out of the box lever action that rivals custom rifles for accuracy. INCREDIBLE. Proof that Henry builds a superb product.
mmm, always been regretting selling my BLR in .308 but now i can get a .223 in this Henry. i just love my lever guns..got a Marlin 336 in 30-30 and a lovely little .22 Magnum Wichester that is a true shooter. I had always hoped another company would bring in another removable box mag lever action. If it is over a grand in the USA it will be $1500 or more in Australia....save pennies i must. very nice.
Appreciate the video, and obviously a great gun. I'd suggest you also do a segment on the Henry Single Shot rifles in centerfire calibers. It would be nice to see them in action. And the pump action .22!
I am fixing to buy one just like this
Ever herd of a Browning BLR have one in 308
It sounds like a nice rifle I do like my mini 14 too
Damn nice rifle
Love my 308 with iron sights!
I want a 5.56 with iron sights.
I thought it was a blr at first,on definitely going to check them out
They should have made this one with iron sights.
My wife saw me watching this video....and is giving me the evil eye. I just bought my Henry 45/70....so I may have to wait to get this one.......maybe.
Bradbo3 - Aw go for it man... never try to live someone else's dreams.
Haha I feel your pain😂
@@grumpysquid Bradbo3 is no longer with us. He bought the rifle and now he's buried in the backyard.
And his wife can be heard mumbling how that 45-70 really does pack a kick!
Buy it for her?
When's the 7.62x39 version coming out?
Put me on the list! LGBFJB!
Omg....gotta have it.
Need to try the basic military 55 grain and the 62 grain green tip
I like this rifle, and they did it right by using a box magazine. I have a real tack driving Marlin 336SC in .219 Zipper, but I must consider it to be a single shot. I'm not too comfortable loading pointed bullets in a tubular magazine pointing directly at the primer of the round ahead of it.
Make in 300blk, 300hamr and 30 carbine please
I love this gun. Would buy one in a snap in .260 Rem with a 22" BBL.
Plinkster, there are ZERO reviews for single shot rifle. Want to see one before I buy one. TIA. Keep up the great work
The fact that it doesn't take ar mags takes away from it a little bit.
It would just have to have a short throw kit installed
Great groups with all three, couldn't help but notice the posture change with the supposed better ammo. I believe you would've had tighter groups as well with the first two types if your holds were the same.
If its not made on America its not going to be made at all.
I agree whole heartedly!
Nice
Do know the 5.56 / 223 caliber is great caliber for like home protection, self defense and coyote, fox, raccoon etc... round. But out of all the 100's of different great deer calibers, why would anyone would want to use this 5.56 or 223 for deer hunting, when there is much better choices for deer calibers ?
Nobody uses a 223 for deer..LOL.....it isn't even legal in many states.
@@chadhaire1711 Don't think 5.56 or 223 not legal to use in my state for deer hunting either.I have to check this out sometime. In my state its split up, depends on what area you hunt in,to determine on what is the biggest or smallest caliber your legally allowed to use, like what's the urban population is in that area etc... In the southern side in my state we are restricted for only using straight wall calibers from the 357 mag up to the 500 S&W. From the central to the Northern side in my state we are basically are allowed to use up to any caliber we want, even if its like a caliber like the military 50 cal Browning machine gun round, which is originally designed to take out tanks, planes, sink ships etc..., which most hunters will not do, cause its way overkill for one. Biggest caliber I ever heard any hunter using in my state is the 338 Win mag or the 375 H&H is way overkill for deer hunting. In my state think the smallest calibers in my state to legally use for deer hunting is the 357 mag or the 6.5 or the 243 Win. Do know the smallest straight wall cartridge we are legally allowed to use for deer in my state is the 357 mag, which I think even the 44 mag is on the weak side for deer. Maybe its in the southern states on were the deer are much smaller deer then the deer in the northern states. Like Florida, Georgia etc... don't think I never seen a deer down there, that I can remember, but people down there told me the average adult deer size is like the size like of an adult German Shepard dog.I have been reading and hearing some hunters in other states has been using 223 or 5.56 for deer, but not sure if they are in the southern states or maybe both.
If your gonna test a gun chambered in .223 and 5.56 you need to show it being shot with both .223 and 5.56
Twist rate should be 1in 9, 308 Winchester I think is 1in 10 ?
I love my Henry in 22 mag. And I am looking at another Henry or 2.
Or 3
Nice!
I got to get me one of those tripods!
If it’s anything like the Bigboy, it’s gotta be good. 👍
Deer Boar? With a .22?
Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of Henry, but choosing the right caliber is as important as choosing a quality rifle.
Will there be a youth model anytime soon?
Good looking rifle. I think I would want a faster twist rate
3 rounds isn't enough samples for a given ammo type and i would say that 100 yards is also not far enough to express the variability well. A 200 yard indoor range would be ideal (as rare as they are). This is necessary because the precision of even cheap modern barrels is very high, so you need more sensetive measurements to determine their differences.
Amazed how little recoil from this awesome rifle!! I had a Remington 30.06 growing up as my center fire main rifle and it had a very vicious kick. My best friend asked if he could shoot it? I warned him, but the scope hit him right between his glasses. I felt bad. Later we laughed, but these days, I'm considering a Henry lever action .243. Do they make it in that round? Lol, but for just plain fun, my next rifle is a Henry lever action .22mag. Thanks for a great review!!
They make it in 243,308,6.5 creedmore., I have the 223/5.56, love it.
I* want one in .308 so bad, just can't find one!!!
Looks great, looks like some coyote medicine
Sweet BUT will it REALLY handle the 556?
Just bought this rifle in .223 here in australia
What did it set you back $ im looking at the same and im in Syd
Hey mate, not sure what the rifle cost me all up as i bought it with a scope which effected the price... i layed $1,300 with a 3x9x50 scope... and yeah that price is the rifle and the scope... i dont know how much the gun costs alone....
Mad gun man i hope you get it... it will be my number one in all my guns now!
Yeh ok thats actually not to bad. Thanks for getting back to me mate , ta
@@samsmith7157 anytime mate! No worries
