- Lever-action rifles aren't typically chambered in full-powered rifle cartridges like 308 Win, but the Henry Long Ranger isn't your typical lever-action rifle.

For hunting rifle I see no need for extended mags. I much rather have that flush mag for ease of carry.
Well you can use the flush mag if you want, but they should still have larger mags available. Personally, if something has detachable mags and you can't get mags of at least 10 rounds, I would rather have a hinged floorplate because there is little point to the detachable mag. It is just one other thing to get dropped in the woods. Replacements are always stupidly overpriced too.
@@MegaAppleshit They could maybe make it into a drum mag so the bullets are positioned to the side instead of straight down
Totally agree
I have the Henry Long Ranger chambered in the 243 Winchester. I absolutely love it !
I have this gun and I love it. Just took my biggest Wa State Blacktail buck with it.
Nice review. Thanks.
I have never been surprised the butter smooth Henry-even my first ,a "Walmart special has a slick action .
Very interesting. I like it. I'm a big fan of lever guns.
I love my Henry long ranger in 308. It’s a target rifle for me and though the recoil is manageable I had the barrel threaded for a muzzle brake for faster follow ups. Time to go slap some steel.
How much did the threaded barreling cost you?
For some reason this would be a little cooler if it were 16”. Also just noticed that the Tikka Arctic 308 is gone, that was on my radar as well. When are you gonna do a live chat, shoot the sh?& about the WWSD carbine, the lefties etc.
Henry actually offers 4 calibers in the long-ranger series 223/5.556, 243win, 6.5 creedmoor and 308 win.
I have the Creedmoor and I love it
I have a Henry long ranger 308 that I bear hunt and deer hunt with I love it
One problem you can’t find the 308 and if you do it’s 1500 to 2000 dollars
I like it...The mag feed needs a redesign...maybe a short action that does not go as far down so a longer mag would be possible. An 8 or 10 round mag would be fantastic imo.
Its a .308 so it is a short action
It is a short action in 308
Beautiful 😍
Comment for the 308 algorithm 😊
That's the rifle I want!
I love my Browning blr 308 my magazine is aluminum made in Japan. Its light and very accurate.
I prefer the Browning BLR when it comes to fit and function.
The Henry sure looks way better than the Browning and the lever action looks better as well on the Henry. Would love to see a side-by-side on the two.
Can't wait to get mine in 308
If they made a mag fed pump it would be great.
I love my long ranger 308
Wouldn’t mind a 16” 308 Lever gun with threaded barrel to suppress. It seems like that involves reliable gunsmith though.
I have been trying to find the Ranger 308 with sights for 3 years now
Does this guy realize that back in thee 1950’’s & 1960’s the M-14 (.308) could hit a target at 500 yards…? I mean he said the .308 was only good to about 200 yds.
My blr 308 was over 1000 and it's made in Japan I kinda want the Henry don't know if I want 6.5 or 308 yet
THAT is what I/m talking about, beautiful rifle, great caliber. sorry about your acciodent.
That rifle is all you need for hunting!
The henery is worth the wait
I've still never seen one in person. My son wants to hunt with one.
308 is the best cartridge for this gun for sure.
Nice video and information!! 6 round mag would be better.. would sell me!
Also comes in .243 Win
That’s the one I got in 2020. I was hesitant to believe the sub-moa claims but across two types of ammo it is giving 1/2” groups at 100yds. Out of a 20” barrel, more than I’d hoped for, even with that $1300 price tag
@@cvisenti Out of curiosity what loads were they? I've only ever shot Norma 100 gr. Soft Points through mines. Decent grouping using a red dot though.
@@richardgarrison3085 some 95gr Hornaday SST polymer tipped stuff & also a couple boxes of 90gr Scirocco bonded spitzer boat tails. Both grouped super tight & the Hornadays were striking actually slightly higher but within an inch of the others.
@@cvisenti Thanks man. I'll have to give those a try. I love Hornady products as I usually reload with their products.
I've watched several review videos. It seems that the action is kind of stiff and clunky
especially when ejecting the spent cartridge. Looks like ejecting is almost a two stage deal.
lever goes about 1/2 way and stops or at least slows down and then continues the rest of the way.
Anyone with a Long Ranger notice this? I have two Henry's, a golden boy, and a 22mag version. The action on them is smooth as can be.
May I ask what material the receiver is made from? Thanks! Great review.
Aluminum
A short stroke kit could fix the mag issue
Whaaat! No 30-30 or 30-06?
Like this gun if the engineer wanted to he could flatten the front part of the trigger loop so it wouldn t run in to a longer magazine marlins have smaller loops . Pass it along
Comment for the Algo! Lets go Brandon!
vortex still have life time warrenty?>
Yes
… 308 win is a long range cartridge … it’s SHOOTERS that aren’t long range … a poor workman blames his tools
I dislike pressed checkering... looks so cheap.
It’s cut
If any manufacturer does do it then they all do it
Good for you , the Henry has cut checkering
How soon you Soyboys forget about the 45-70 Govt - not quite a "Revolver Cartridge" is it? I guess that's par for the course from folks that don't like that kind of recoil and need a Salon Pas after a shooting session. Oh, and I own Henry Rifles - have for 20+ years, to include the 45-70 Govt, Henry Big Boys in .45 LC / .44 Mag/.357 Mag - as well as the Big Boy X Model...in any case - Jim must appeal to the softer side listening to his comments about the weight etc.
So like, do you use a glass to collect and smell your own farts? Or you you have like a fishbowl helmet with a hose connected directly to you ass?
terrible review. The rifle weighs 7lbs and you're comparing it to a 9.5lb Garand? The checkering is laser cut, not pressed. Lazy, lazy, lazy.
Stopped watching, checked don't share content from this channel again....
Get over yourself buddy nobody gives a fuck whether you watch or share or if you even get up tomorrow morning or not. Maybe if you didn’t have the attention span of an ant you would have heard him say kind of like an M1 Garand but not quite so heavy. There’s nothing wrong with that statement, all the man was saying is that it’s a solidly built rifle that has some heft but not so much heft like the 9.5lb Garand. If anybody is lazy here it’s the guy who doesn’t bother to listen and understand before they start talking shit and passing judgement on others.
