Fans in both the AtGames and Arcade1Up camps seem to have some concerns over a few issues so today we are taking a look at some community speculation about Pinball FX games coming to the AtGames Legends Pinball HD and Is Arcade1Up Done In Canada?

Hi Michael - love your channel, big fan of the Super Gameroom Dudes. I feel like you may be defending AtGames a bit too much with how they've handled the ALP HD. While I don't (and never did) expect that they can bring Zen tables to the ALP HD without offering that upgrade board that was supposed to come out, it's unreasonable to make ALP HD owners wait for a year for ANY native to the table releases. Sure, OTG is an option - but it's always been an option (and an inconvenient one for many). It's presence doesn't negate the fact that AtGames has largely abandoned the ALP HD (even with the handful of upcoming releases). Even if they finally do release the tables in the future, a year is way too long to wait for a native table release for a unit they are still actively selling for nearly $700.
Re: your comparison to iiRcade - at least iiRcade kept releasing games for the og cabs without waiting a year in between releases. It would be like if when Sony came out with the PS5 (while still selling the PS4), they said they would actively support both platforms, but then only released PS5 games for a solid year. It's just unfair to those who invested in the platform. If the chipset in the og ALP is that much of a dud that nothing is suitable for release for a year - AtGames should be honest with us about its status. Let us know that with the exception of maybe four packs over the next year, the platform is dead - then offer a buy back or trade in program so ALP HD owners can get a (large) price break on the new platform (i.e. half off retail).
Also, if at all possible, it would be fantastic if AtGames would release a firmware update that made the ALP HD buttons Nintendo Switch compatible. Then at least those not wanting to deal with the time, effort and expense of running a PC would have an inexpensive, supported option for running games OTG.
I predict AtGames and the Zen partnership will fizzle out before the end of 2025.
I think FX3 would run better on the HD, wish they would bring FX3 games to AtGames.
Now that would be an interesting conept, I wonder if AtGames have broach Zen about this or does the Arcade1Up relationship make that difficult
Pinball FX games were meant to be playable via the HD upgrade PCB (everyone's already forgotten about it).
I don’t remember that but it entirely possible, do you have a link or something I can confirm with?
That was never announced. In fact, I believe they had a note claiming it would it be compatible with 4K content.
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie I've got the URL but the page has gone, Bill's retro show did a video on the upgrade PCBs.
@@jtbrunick Watching Bill's video they were saying the upgrade PCB wouldn't be capable of outputting 4K, if you also wanted to upgrade the monitor. Looking back it looks like Zen was announced the same time people got their upgrade pre-orders cancelled, but the new PCB was meant to have the new interface and be on parity just (obviously) not 4K.
Understand that’s what Bill said it might be able to do, but AtGames never announced or advertised it that way. I also believe there were follow up videos from other creators that denounced this idea.
That is funny that people believed the ZEN tables would come to the HD. The FX3 might be able to work on the HD but definitely not the Unreal Engine Pinball FX/M. Even PC players are having problems because of all the system resources FX/M require.
Also, just want to remind my fellow Canadians that The Shopping Channel still has some A1Up cabinets for sale and if you are someone who cannot afford the cost in one lump sum, TSC does have a monthly payment option.

Give the HD pinball owners the new branded tables! I didn't spend $800 on the HD machine to play 3 versions of a made up zaccaria table with bad voice acting. We want real tables for the HD and we're willing to pay for them. Also a feature to adjust the ball physics would be nice. On a lot of the tables the ball feels like it's bouncing off rubber bands, the gravity physics feel light or too bouncy.
Wayfair has had phenomenal sales last holiday season. Keep an eye out.
I don’t want them to close, but they definitely need a restructure. They’re way too expensive for the equipment that they provide. I get that the licensing is expensive, but it’s hard to justify $500+ for 3 games and mediocre deck buttons and joysticks.
How many more units would they sell at $300-$350 range?
What ever happened with the atgames Microsoft/Rare partnership weren’t the HD owners suppose to get a KI and battletoads table ?
Zen could get tables to the HD if they ported FX3 tables over, on FX there is no way.
I don’t know if its possible but Atgames should find a way to put the zen tables on the ALP HD through the pinball net . This way they could pay for it on their server only. And everybody is happy

I seem to recall that AtGames was going to release an updated motherboard pack for the Pinball HD but this was later scrapped (I think you covered this) - do you think this is where the confusion over Zen Games support for the HD comes from? (Potentially the new Rockchip in the HD may have assisted the old flipper lag).

This is a joke. If A1U can put out Zen tables this is unacceptable at best.
I'm pretty happy with what I have, but this NOD kinda sucks for people wanting to buy accessories or cheap pinball packs.
If HD owners were getting Pinball FX games for their machines you'd just have more people complaining about lag.
Yep, I got rid of my HD pinball in hopes of getting the 4K later on once the bugs are worked out. Carpal tunnel played a role as well, 20 minutes of Space Invaders was about a week of worse hand/arm pain, which is always present 24/7 anyways. Aging is a trip!!
I don’t get the lag issue still! Been really wanting to get one of these machines, but every video I watch, without fail, says the lag is awful! How can a machine specifically designed to play pinball have a lag! I can play pinball on my PS5 with zero lag but a machine made just for pinball, I can’t?? It makes no sense!
When will they announce some new 4k pinball machines I really want one but have been holding out for either a Star Trek tng or maybe Jurassic park or jaws

Mike I don’t think anybody wants A1up to go out of business (except Rexer). It’s just that the radio silence and lack of new products only fuels speculation of their demise. We are all frustrated with the company. We want them to succeed but they have done nothing to give us hope or anything to look forward to.
Every physical brick store has these on clearance. No one wants them anymore or they made too many and the market is oversaturated.

I run pinball FX on pc - i'm not left out
Companies always need to move forward. Just like consoles bring out new hardware so would a company like AtGames. I'm sure in the future if AtGames is still in business they will bring out something to improve on the 4K Pinball machine. I will say that with the 4k pinball machine I'm wondering if arcade packs or something will be available to use with the control panel I spent extra on for the 4K pinball machine. It makes working through the menu much easier but it's awful expensive if it's used just for that.
Atgames blew it by going 4k 60hz with that chip set. The gotlieb and Zacharia stuff will be fine. But the Zen stuff will be a struggle on that hardware. 2k 60hz or even 120hz on that chipset would have worked better. Or go with beefier hardware. I know it's expensive already, but a little bit more $$$ in hardware or going 2k would have made a huge difference.
I play on pc (no cabinet) and steamdeck. I can adjust refresh rate and resolution on my PC setup. At 32 inches, 120hz at 2k or even 1080p is a much better experience than 4k 60hz. At least it is on my set up. VERIFIED! I would say 4k becomes more important for larger screen sizes.
Love getting this videos in the middle of the day. Help breakup my workday. I feel sorry for those ALP HD folks that can't get those Zen games but I also understand there are limitations to those machines. As for 1up, with them being so hushed and not saying anything it only is making everything worse! If they would just come out and say...hey, we are having some struggles and are working our way through them, I think most people would understand. Just tell us something...anything!

I honestly think its bullshit that pinball fx isn't on the hd machine yet, it runs perfectly on a crappy 1up pinball machine. Also the 4K is like 2000+€ in Europe, if you can get one that is.
Don't know what your'e talking about, no one wants Arcade1Up to go out of buisiness, but they haven't released a new title in a year. They need to sh!t or get off the pot, either produce new cabs, or sell the company to someone who will

That was a Shop Hippo Exclusive originally so I am not sure. I know they weren't with the last distributor but I'm told things should be better with the new distributor
