Magnus, your right, a SII E type 2+2 with an Auto Trans is the least desirable of all the E's, not to long ago you could buy them for $5-10K now like Porsche 911's the rarest and best have raised the tide (price)for all. Oh and by the way it is NOT a GM sourced slushbox, it is a Borgwarner model 12, way worse than any GM auto box ever was. We should only wish it was a GM by product.
I’d be willing to bet that the round sidemarker lights from 1968 Mopars would look good on that Jag if you do hot rod it......and be fairly period correct too!
I'm no fan of the US Strombergs. I replaced the pair on my Series I XJ for a triple SU set from a MK X and it was like the hand of god picking up the car and tossing us down the road after that. Magnus, you might like an XJC if you haven't seen them. Rare 2 door pillarless coupe of the Series II XJ with either 6 or 12 cylinders. :)
I've always liked the e type since I was a little boy, I would love to own one if I could but instead I'll watch you build this one. Where are you going to get the 12 cylinder from? What 5 speed trans will you be using?
I have a 71 2+2 and I’m not seeing any differences between mine and your 69, inside or out (less the auto). I’m sure you know it to be a 69 so I’m curious as to what differences there were.
Do you know why the grill has 2 bars between the vertical parts ? I see some that have and some that don't ? Anybody knows when they fitted some and when without?
Magnus and Leno have got to be the most fun car guys to watch I’ve ever seen! Thank You Mr. Walker, much love from East Tennessee!!
I really love the roof line of the 2+2. It's cool. Nice purchase.
Look forward to the next jag video - former 1971 series 2 coupe owner
76 XJ6 SII here in Los Angeles. Love the purrrr!
I have relatives that live in the Newberry Park/Thousand Oaks area. Love the Jag!
Beautiful automobile. Great video. Thank you.
@4:50 nice to see the clean Fox Body (Appears to be a 93 Cobra) cruising...

A BorgWarner autobox originally designed for that hot performance car known as the Rambler.

Hello from Brazil.
Congratulations for the channel and videos.
Porsche is my passion and I will get there .
With my Best Regards.
Miranda.
Waiting for Magnus driving a Porsche Taycan .
No problems? Something must be defective.
I also like orphan cars. A second generation Corvair is one of my favorites.
You should get a 68 down manual so the rear lights are still on the body and it's fun to drive. Those trailer lights on the series 2 are tragic.
Ditch the Stromberg carbs for triple SUs , Fit a 5 speed manual gear box , hey presto you will end up with a great driving E Type .
Greetings from the international space station!

Welcome to the dark side Magnus !!

Why is Forrest Gump riding around in a Jaguar?
what a peach. I leave her just as is. Oh does the clock work

I'd leave it "as is" enjoy it as a GT. Does it have AC?

It needs a 911 motor to give it some character hehehe or even better a V8 from a 928
Привет Магнус , тебе интересны классические мерседес бенз ? Видел w 201 m119 at 5 speed ? У меня есть , могу поделится .
Magnus, I'm in LA with a numbered NAS Defender 110. Interested in a buy or trade?
❤️🔥
How about that 93 Cobra!
I wonder if he got a good deal on that '69 Jag...
Yeah that's cool I like it

I have one..... and no rust!
Hi magnus
hi magnus walker
ok magnus ...but this in not porsche
I think the e type is one of the most beautiful cars ever made , apart from the 2+2 , they totally ruined the lines of the car 🤮
