  • We've just finished installing a new roof for a customer and we used a fairly new roofing material which we believe is the best choice for homeowners in Colorado Springs. But this roofing material is great for use in any location.
It has all the benefits of asphalt shingles, metal, and tile but without any of the downsides that all those other materials have.
The product is called F-Wave and it comes with a 5-year hail warranty from the manufacturer.
Homestead Roofing, Inc is a licensed and fully-insured roofing contractor in Colorado Springs, Colorado and serving homeowners in Colorado Springs, Fountain, Falcon, Peyton, Manitou Springs, and other surrounding communities.
Visit the Homestead Roofing website for a lot more information, education, scam alerts, and tips at homesteadroofingcolorado.com or call our office at 719-433-6991 if you have any questions about this, or any other roofing-related topics.

I have updated information about this as of yesterday. I would strongly suggest you do some research on failures on this product. I plan to be making a new video about it.

To whom it may concern, asphalt shingles are recyclable. If your community is dumping them they are wasting valuable previously extracted resources. It can be ground up with machines engineered to process out nails with magnetic capability. Its used in road based applications eventually maybe more we were recycling it in California years ago. One roofing company i was at tracked the material they recycled because at one time they only had dump options for old shingles.

Although the product "can" be recycled, companies in Colorado are not allowed to say they recycle shingles because the "green" state of Colorado has determined that there's not enough of a demand for it, so it's illegal.

@@homesteadroofing so nobody can because there isn't enough demand? Or you can if possible & available but nobody can advertise doing it because its not available everywhere because rural low population areas?

@@woodpeckerroofing93 There are no recycling centers here because they can't do anything with the end product. A roofer here in town got into the recycling business and it was great because we could all take our loads there and only pay $50 to dump instead of $200. But when Colorado passed the law about shingle recycling, that all stopped and we had to go back to paying $200 to dump asphalt shingles into the landfills. Since then, that roofer grinds his own shingles, and his shingle mountain is almost the size of Pikes Peak, but he can't do anything with it.
It's typical of Progressive, "green" legislation. They claim it's beneficial for the environment, but in the end, it always is more destructive.

How does the F-Wave hold up to the UV Rays in Colorado?

    • @homesteadroofing
      @homesteadroofing  10 місяців тому

I'm not sure how it holds up to UV rays.
We actually now don't recommend F-Wave due to product failures we have discovered on a roof we installed.

Can you please explain why you don't recommend these? We just got samples and we don't want to shell out a bunch of money and have it fail, we are on a fixed income.@@homesteadroofing

a question to what extent do you mark each line to go straight

    • @homesteadroofing

That's more important with the ridge. The field is pretty easy, like asphalt.
Just be sure to use blue chalk, not red. The red won't come off and the home will be left with red lines on it.

I have no idea what type of plastic this is…I’ve seen numerous synthetic type roofs come and go…
