The VR sequences in the Lawnmower Man film were amazing for the time.
Yea it really reminded me of Max Headroom.
Carlos Peralta teenager... lawnmower man... acid... yup lol
AllHailBoognish m-m-m-m-max -h-h-h-headroom m-m-m-m-must be D-d-d-d-destroyed
I disagree for the fact that FPS games back then were a lot better than those sequences..
Better than the PlayStation VR tho
Looks like Mike had more fun with this game than he likes to admit.
Honestly, the game looks pretty decent for what it is.
yes i think so 2 and one i would like to try
yea i like some kinda challenge and as agamer this sure is a gme iwouldlike to figure out lol idont totatly hate godzilla for thenes
i played the hell out of this game back in the day .. it's a great game
@@seriousstuff8887 i loved the SHIT out of this game, as well as the minigames where you have to match the patterns.
No, it was bad.
Those 3D segments are kind of impressing me graphically tbh
"One-hit deaths, those are always great games"
I know, right? I was playing some game called Contra and I couldn't stand how shitty it was because of that.
To be fair, how many shitty games do they play with James that have that mechanic?
Dark Souls and Bloodborne walk through the door.
You guys are out of your minds. This game is phenomenal.
Mike had more fun with this game than he cares to admit.
I actually loved the movie and this game!! The virtual reality parts blew my mind as a kid and the movie is delightful cheese
The Lawnmower Man was one of my favorite movies growing up, still gotta be Top 25.
This game was so much fun! Remember seeing my cousin playing this all the time back then.
I don't think it is really that bad. If you like hard games it is quite a feature rich game for its time.
I actually think this looks pretty cool.
I actually quite enjoyed the movie and think it's relevant today concerning augmentation and virtual reality.
Seen the movie as a kid and I remember it freaked me out a lot. Especially the "VR" bits near the end.
The 90s was a great lost era when R-rated movies were marketed to kids -- including toy lines based on R-rated movies.
Nowadays, Aliens, Robocop, and Terminator are PG-13...
That is true, plus parents were more tolerant to what kids could watch as long as the parents knew that the child could distinguish real life from just a movie. I grew up watching this, Puppet Master, and one of my all time favorites Toxic Avenger haha. My Dad had an awesome VHS collection of cheesy horror/comedy movies.
Same with me, I remember watching it on tv, the scene where Jeff Fahey who mind controls his lawnmower and kills his friends abusive dad
I havent seen this movie since the 90s but I vaguely remember a scene involving a microwave that freaked me out.
The game actually doesn't look that bad. It has a lot of variety, that's for sure.
So we watched the movie to get a better understanding of the game.
But actually it made us even more confused.
Good logic by them, no? So that means I can go watch the Mario movie to understand the Mario games...
These are the kind of people that have never seen an episode of Mystery Science.
where did you learn to fly?
lol
Cyberspace,mostly
Mike was too hard on this one from the get-go. Like, sure it's not a great game but how many super Nintendo games have all these different modes and it looked challenging as fuck.
Challenging? Son, I didn't beat this game until I was 20.
Didn't ever get around to playing this but I remember the cover and seeing it back in the day
if you think The Lawnmower Man movie was bad I dare you to watch the sequel!
@@anidolinteal3132 I have to disagree with that
this game wasnt that bad... i enjoyed it a lot
Does Mike dislike games because they're bad or because they're hard?
Can't speak for him but I'd say both are valid reasons to not like a game anyway, right?
Paul Knight i have this game, Ive gotten it to the part right after they left off, game is literally unbeatable.
Paul Knight DK tropical freeze is a hard game but I love the challenge
The game looked like it had a lot of work put into it.
Agh, you guys undersold this game *so* hard. It's actually one of my favorite SNES games. I still own it, too.
the game's soundtrack is cool though
I rented this game at the time, and I still have no idea what the game is all about xD (yes, I have seen the movie).
The Gaming Ground see my comment
Which comment?
4/10 at best
For the Sega Genesis, the soundtrack is awesome.
the graphics are pretty good.
i would play it
its a lot better than they make it out to be. so is the movie. you should give it a shot
Yeah, I haven't played the game but the 3D parts look pretty cool. Especially the later ones @14:15
Just dont play this game which was also released for PC, its one of the worst games I have ever played. This SNES version us actually really decent.... the movie is , I agree to a degree mot the best.
So Pierce Brosnan, by some crazy technicality, was in a game before his likeness was used in GoldenEye 64.
To be honest, those Mode 7 effects in the last part looked better than everything in Starfox.
Maybe I'm blinded by overwhelming nostalgia but I fucking love Lawnmower Man. In a way, it was my own personal introduction to monster movies before I watched any Frankenstein or Dracula movies.
Lawnmower Man was a great movie back in the day.
I played this game when it came out as a kid. I got it for a birthday or something. Loved the game honestly. Super fun. There are all kinds of power ups and stuff. I'd seen the movie. So wasn't sure what to expect.
It was a pleasant surprise
It's been awhile since I've seen the movie, but remember watching it several times as a kid and really liking it.
well... every Contra game has one touch deaths..
AdlerSchwadron and most shooters
AdlerSchwadron Nice Starcraft profile pic
Most "bullet hell" games like Gradius and Ikaruga have one-hit deaths as well.
Yeah, worst complaint ever. -_-
This game is amazing. It has modes up to and including SEVEN!
I loved Lawnmower Man when it came out, as did everybody I knew at the time. The effects definitely don’t stand the test of time, but it was a unique story at the time, before the theme was done to death.
Used to play this all the time at a friends house back in the day. Very rarely did I make it to the second VR sequence.
Hickory Dickory Dock! make your own joke, OH!! - DICE
I beat this game back in the day. It’s obviously growing on the guys the more they play it.
I thought the movie was alright especially for the 90's when I originally watched it. I would say the same for the game too. It really looked like no matter what you hated this from the start.
I saw the movie and played the game back in the day. I think this was an appropriate reaction.
I disagree with the guys here. Really liked this movie and game as a kid, maybe its just sentimental I don't know.
3d enough. Like Star fox. It's a dated game none the less. I'd rather play Star Fox and skip the pew pew parts
I didn't care for part 2, but I remember renting the original several times.
I was a teen in the 90's and I remember the movie sucking so much I didnt even bother touching the game to even rent. Also I think the game mags gave it a shitty review.
Yeah it's just sentimental dude..
Ryan Aguilar star fox wasn't mode 7 it was super FX
the 3d effect in this movie reminds me of the real adventure of Johnny Quest (Quest World)
sorry i mean virtual reality
That game has two player simultaneous play.
It wasn't a horrible movie, just the script was unbearable. The effects were fun.
True, it was a decent movie considering it's budget.
honestly the premise of the movie was quite good. some execution was bad but saying it was a stephen king film ruined it.
They could have called it anything..... "Curse of the Dimwitted Landscaper" and it would have actually been a good movie at the time.
Guy uses new tech to turn a mentally slower person into a dangerously intelligent digital demi god.
The ONLY things that really irked me was him bringing VR stuff (oh god the bees, not the bees) and his body physically shriveling when entering the VR world.
yeah I don't remember the movie being as bad as they are making it out to be
Ho, and on the top of that, somebody gets kill by a lawnmower, and that's fuckin' cool!
I loved it at 12:30 where Pierce Brosnan vs. The A-Team
the Lawnmower Man movie is fuckin great. good cheesy sci fi goodness. you guys are nuts
Lawnmower man was great! It even has aged well.
That Gas Station boss holy fuck it just wouldn't end. Just when you think its dead boom fireman WTF.
Don't diss the film it's a good movie.
>"Let's see if the game is just as bad as the m-ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
total 'son victory
For a SNES game, this looks interesting actually.
I still like Lawnmower Man. it's cheesy as hell, but it's a fun movie.
I had a substitute science teacher and instead of teaching she made us watch lawnmower man.
for sure not a "bad game"
the directors cut was awesome!!!
Next week play the game based off the movie Warlock :)
John Hunter I havent seen Warlock since it was new, I might have to check it out again sometime
John Hunter yeah I was talking about the 89 movie, dont remember if I watched the sequels to it or not
KingHenryVR4 Warlock was a fairly good game. I remember renting it back in 1995. The Super NES has so many great games. They should play Stargate too.
gedaman I had the genesis version is was dope
i liked the game back in the day, the movie was awesome too. the game was hard as hell as far as i can remember.
says "one hit death those are always great games" sarcastically. "Contra is one of my favorite NES games." ok.
it seems like this game would be infinitely more playable if the enemies didn't take 27 hits to kill
I liked this game!!
Titanic 2? I have no clue what happens in titanic 2, a new ship, dino's???
Jack came back from the dead and fought an alien invasion that was cooking within the debris of the Titanic before he had to come back to the future.
Something like that happened in the 2nd titanic's movie.
Two brothers. In a van. And then a meteor hit. And they ran as fast as they could. From giant cat-monsters. And then a giant tornado came. And that's when things got knocked into twelfth gear...
A Mexican...armada shows up. With weapons made from to- tomatoes. And you better betch'ur bottom dollar that these two brothers know how to handle business.
In! 'Alien...Invasion Tomato Monster Mexican Armada Brothers...Who Are Just Regular Brothers Running...in a Van from an...Asteroid and All Sorts of Things: The Movie'.
Hold on! There's more. Old women are comin'! And they're also in the movie and they're gonna come...and cross...attack...these two brothers. But let's get back to the brothers because they're- they have a strong bond! You don't wanna know about it here, but I'll tell you one thing.
The Moon. It comes crashing into Earth! And whaddya do then? It's two brothers and I- and...and they're gonna...it's called 'Two Brothers' ...'Two Brothers'...it's just called 'Two Brothers'!
thomas tp Titanic 2 is a real movie? The movie "What's The Worst That Could Happen?" Has a joke about interviewing Leonardo DiCaprio for Titanic 2.
Is Titanic 2 worth checking out?
I would think not slice it was made by the same assholes that made "transmophers".
+gedaman It's set in 2012, 100 years after the original Titanic. Someone decides to make a ship called Titanic 2. And it suffers the same fate. There's also a "romantic" storyline similar to the original. It's very low-budget, made by Asylum.
I used to love lawnmower man on SNES. haha love the part where you fight the gas station
gem of a game
I remember seeing this movie in theaters when I was like 7 and having no fucking idea what the hell was going on.
Not a big fan of this back in the day, but I found the soundtrack was pretty good!
Wait what, Titanic 2? Glad i`m living under a rock..
The VR shooting and driving parts were the best (especially the music). This game had a really creepy aesthetic to me as a kid, and it was really hard near the end. I enjoyed it though. Also, some of the VR segments have pillars after the Exit signs, and if you fly through those, powerups may pop out when you spawn in the next screen
It's that game leafy plays all the time
Dylan Santa clause leafy is trash
lol I don't even like leafy
Leafy plays HalfLife 2 with a mod.
Fuck leafy and anyone who likes him
It was a joke
Is it two player? There is space for another players score and meter?
it is 2 players ... but they actually suck hard. as an infant i beat them by a mile xD and we're talking about 2 adults here. maybe they suck on purpose
Exactly my question here. If yes, why they don't play it together for more fun?!
Its two player and you get to play at the same time not turn based except for vr parts
Mary Blue
I just picked that game up and played it and was not that bad. And the instruction manual would not help at all. What it would tell you Y is to shot and B to jump. They should know this.
Dementiablack3190 oh really
DON'T GO THROUGH THE RING lmao. I loved this game as a kid. Hilarious to watch you guys stumble through it
Also why didn't you guys play multiplayer? It's simultaneous multiplayer...
I remember seeing the cover of this game once. I forgot what the game was called and now I know what it is. Thank you so much.
They didn't do a Lawnmower Man 2 game based on the film, but there is a game sequel to this game called; Cyberwar.
love this game!
a friend of mine in the 90s played this game live on a British tv show called games world live.
sure enough he won a lawnmower man bomber jacket and cgi cells from the film.
the next episode a week later was filmed live in his house lol
NO WAY! A boxed copy of this is in the background of every one of my recent solo lets plays. I loved this game when I was a kid and I loved the movie much more. I think I had a bias toward the game though, because of the movie.
I agree; I loved this game when I was younger. Still do. The only real complaint I have about the game is the final boss; who the fuck is Doom Player? Ending it at Jobe would have been far better imo.
That plot sounds like a bad version of Flowers for Algernon
I like the graphics of that shooter stage.
it looks like a game where you go to the office but yo realize it's sunday and go back home to watch tv
The game looks pretty impressive for SNES game.
This game looks good actually and I love the movie!
they said they didn't like it and weren't going to go back on there word. they had fun playing which means they liked it
fun fact: the peter jackson horror movie Dead Alive (or Braindead depending on region) was released as "The Zombie Lawnmower Man" in german
5:38 Looks like the logo for the Joe Rogan Experience podcast on the bottom screen.
1:50 mikes face made me laugh so hard.
Can we expect a new Lawnmower Man now that VR is "cool" again?
The lawnmower man is one of those rare films that has a directors cut and theatrical cut and if you watch both, you get completely different films. In the theatrical u feel for Brosnan more as his wife's left him etc, in the directors cut you can see he only cares about himself (and his drink problem). Watch em both.
The 3D section reminds me of the recent game "Race the Sun", for PC (great game!). So that's good, but the platforming levels damn... Is this game related to Warlock? Looks like the same engine.
"Instant deaths are always great" ...you mean like Contra?
Oh, and there's a Mega drive version that gives you extra hitpoints in the VR sections.
I actually played this on the gameboy and it is one of my favorites. I had no idea there was an snes version.
Always loved the music in this game.
i had beaten this back in the days, and died countless time lol
The game's cover gave me nightmares whenever I passed by it in a retro video game store my city used to have
I have an old Game players lying around that tells you how to play the game.
Always wanted to play this, since the walkthrough made it sound interesting.
I remember loving this as a kid
Oh man, I remember I used to play this game with my cousin back in the day. I really liked it but we could never beat the end boss.
YOU HAVE TO PLAY IT 2-PLAYER, C’MON GUYS
Will never happen
I haven't played the game in 15 yrs but it was fun as hell back then.
This is one of the trippiest games I've ever seen!
I'm sure I'm not alone here but that face on the cart/box always freaked me out.
Oh i've played this game a lot, it's actually pretty fun but the final boss and some of the enemy placements are bullshit. I can't believe they didn't do 2 player co-op.
Great film, it's quite amazing how technology has finally caught up to the movie.
I love this movie and game
Actually I think this looks kinda decent, decent graphics for SNES like the VR stuff, seems to have a 2player mode too. the one hit kills seem to be the biggest flaw.
"One hit deaths, those are always great games."
Yeah, like Contra, Metal Slug, 1942, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Jackal, etc.
