In my opinion The Rock of Chicago jingles were the best set of jingles ever made for a radio station! And of course, one of the best stations during the 70's!

@Gary Heath I agree - but I also liked Super CFL's jingles as well! As a kid in Michigan, I would switch between the two, to hear songs I liked.

When I lived in southwest Missouri as a younger man in 1989, I loved listening to the Phyllis Levey show on WLS as I would fall asleep.

There was one WLS, Chi-ca-go, but not the one I was waiting for. Early 70's I think. Can still hear it in my head.

That's the Class Action Jam jingle package that Landecker "hosted". That package is hilarious!!

Back in the 60's and 70's when all the local radio stations signed off at dark, WLS would turn up the power to 100,000 watts and I would go to sleep with my one ear phone plugged in to my transistor radio. I live in South Carolina. AM travels.

Wow! This brought back memories. I used to lay in bed at night when I was a kid, living on a farm in rural South Tennesse back in the 1970,s listening. I could only get it at night. I was always so amazed when they gave the weather which the winters were brutal back then, they would announce. " currently in Chicago, we have light snow and minus 5 degrees." Good days!

I lived in the Chicago suburbs and I used to pick up WSM in Nashville late at night. 😊

Not so rural SW Tn here, used to lay in bed at night also tuning in. Imagine to my surprise being 13 and the jingle kicking off the opening of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and actually knowing the station.

In 1977 when I was 13 We drove to Chicago for a vacation from MPHS TN. I listened to wls all the way home to Memphis, amazed I could pick it up. I listened to the station every night. A big city radio station. Wls played a better mix of the hits than our local stations. I liked the big city sound. I used to do my homework in my room listening to it and I LOVED THE JINGLES, especially when Chicago was part of the jingle. The station helped me survive that part of my youth. I new In my heart I’d move to a bigger city when I grew up. I moved to San Diego in 1987.

I used to listen to them as I was doing my homework in Baltimore. They came in like thunder in those days, not so much anymore but they're a newstalker now.

@The Real Dan Levi Garcia these jingles are all from WLS-AM during it's musicradio years. None are from WLS-FM.

A similar radio format existed in the Philippines from 1992-2007 under the moniker Campus Radio in the Philippines from a radio station Owned by the GMA network under the FM frequency 97.1 with the call sign DWLS, hence it blended with the station branding when it existed. On-air it was branded as “Campus Radio WLS-FM”

@@radiogroupie2397 Some are from the 60's, some are form the early 70's. I listened from day 1 but gave up in the 80's. The fun was gone. How many of you can name the original Jocks? After all these years, I don't think I can anymore. I have a personally signed copy of Clark Webers book. I heard he recently passe away. RIP Clark, the memories live on.
