Thanks for addressing this! My sister had an overly tight pelvic floor and I didn't know any better so I just told her to do kegals... Luckily she went to a pelvic floor specialist and got real help. 😅 But seeing the symptoms I wonder if I've overdone it with kegals myself! Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing! It's so important women know they don't have to live with symptoms from pregnancy. It's common to have those brushed off, not just by doctors even fellow moms.
Thank you for this! I'm so happy you've updated your revised post-pregnancy plan to include this info. I have a hypertonic pelvic floor and luckily I went to Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist shortly after starting your older plan. I left out doing Kegels during any of the exercises and would do a round of pelvic floor breathing exercises at the end of each video and that helped me a lot to relax my pelvic floor. I just finished your plan and my core is much stronger. Thank you.
Big yes to the cooking chat video!! I found this video so interesting as I have been reading a lot of research lately saying to lay off kegels while your pregnant and just focus on squats!
Ashley, this is gold! Thank you so much for the time you've put into researching and making this video. This is the clearest explanation of pelvic floor issues I have come across - will definitely be sharing with my prego/mum friends! Regarding the next video, I would happily watch any of them, but would particularly appreciate the cooking or gut health suggestions. Thank you!
This was so helpful! 4 months PP tomorrow and on day 2 of week 1 of the 12 week plan. Very timely video with great visuals and teaching! Will start my kegels today🤎
I wish I had known that c-section mamas can have pelvic floor issues after my first pregnancy. I know now that I had a hypertonic pelvic floor after my first pregnancy (carrying around over 12.5 lbs. of babies!) and I can tell that I do again this time (one 9 lb. baby). Rather than suffering from all of those terrible symptoms again, I will be seeing a pelvic floor therapist and taking the time to heal.
Aw man I wish I would have seen this 6 years ago before my first was born! 🤦♀️ but thanks so much for sharing! This is crazy helpful! Also, your little one is adorable 😍
Thank you so much for this video! I had a hypertonic pelvic floor after delivering my daughter. It took awhile to figure it out but I did eventually make my way to a pelvic floor PT ( which I never knew existed). I hope this video helps many women! I love your videos so much! I would love to see a cooking chat video! Honestly would benefit from all the ideas you mentioned! Do you typically drink kombucha when pregnant, how about when nursing?
Super informative video!! Love and Appreciate all of your videos! I would love to see a cooking video! I am on my 7th pregnancy and this is definitely the most fit and best I've felt in any of them. Thank you!
So helpful! I need to get in to see a specialist after this second baby. Also how did Ava get so big?!? I love her little chair and giant baby with her snacks.

@@glowbodypt your videos have made such an impact on my life! I’m on my 3rd pregnancy in 6 years and my first 2 I gained 50 pounds each time and had a slew of health issues. This time I’m weighing in at 135 at 23 weeks and feeling great!
@@eliseramos8849 woooah Elise! This makes me so happy for you to be having a more fit and healthy THIRD pregnancy than your first 2-- that says so much about the deliberate effort you are putting it and I'm really glad you shared this w/ me so I can celebrate with you!
@@glowbodypt I'm looking for ways to incorporate fiber in my diet. If you have any tips on how to include fiber in meals or snacks and how much to have in a day or week, that would be helpful :)
Thanks for this video. I'd love to see a video of how to minimize the impact of Diastasis Recti during pregnancy. I didn't know during my first pregnancy that working the rectus abdominals would increase the severity of DR until almost third trimester. I know there are other women out there who don't know this. I was always told (including by my doctor) that I could keep doing the same exercises I was doing before pregnancy. Except to not lay on my back, so I was doing hanging leg lifts for a good part of my pregnancy. That and having a large baby led to severe DR. When I got pregnant with my second it seemed like my abs just moved right over again and I got severe DR again. I'd like to know if there is anything I can do to reduce the severity if I become pregnant again.
Hey Ashley, i remember you mentioning in this video about feeling a heaviness in your pelvic floor and I cant seem to find that spot of the video again. I am 6 days post partum and I had a 2nd degree tear thats recovering. With the weightiness/heaviness I am feeling in the pelvic floor. What does that mean exactly? Thank you again for all this info sis!
Thank you so much Ashley; this video is helpful, especially your “Ashley Keller-ism” ratchet kegels. I do have a question regarding the use of a Jade Egg during kegels and whether or not you’ve heard of that practice? Any comment or feedback you have would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
@@glowbodypt Jade eggs have not been recommended by most Doctors I know of. Dr. Jen Gunter, an OB/Gyn has written about this. They are potentially dangerous.
Within 14 days you will notice a difference if you do it every single day! Please set reminders on your phone or alarms to go off -- consistency is the KEY here. These are not hard but they make a huge difference.
No, you should start it! Phase 1 is super low impact and you can repeat it for longer than 4 weeks if at that time you feel you need to. Phase 2 and Phase 3 are pretty darn low impact too-- the only thing I recommend modifying is instead of easing into walk-to-jogs/stroller jogs each week, instead stick to LONGER DURATION walks (I'm talking 40-60 minutes walking instead of attempting til jog til you're feeling really confident in your pelvic floor!) Or, you can sub in one of the 2 Bonus Cardio at home routines you get instead of walking too! I designed it to get the same caloric burn, without having to go outside if you can't/don't want to due to weather.

@@sandyt8633 Thanks for your insight. I've never spent time researching them.
I also feel that kegal is nt good for weak pelvic floor muscles
Why do you say that?
How long after you start doing kegels should you notice a difference?
Within 14 days you will notice a difference if you do it every single day! Please set reminders on your phone or alarms to go off -- consistency is the KEY here. These are not hard but they make a huge difference.
Should we hold off doing the post pregnancy plan if we still have some pelvic floor weakness?
No, you should start it! Phase 1 is super low impact and you can repeat it for longer than 4 weeks if at that time you feel you need to. Do Kegels still work 2 years postpartum or should I adress this to a specialist?
YES!!! Start w/ kegels on your own, then see a pelvic floor board certified women's health specialist if you have unresolved symptoms.
