Love the G60's, they were good in there day, back when 10mpg wasn't a issue.

Mechanical fuel pump was the first thing to go on ours when we converted to dual fuel.
We ended up adding a blanking plate and electric fuel pump so that it wouldn’t strain itself when switched to LPG.

Great underrated trucks, rare Long Wheel Base model, any updates? Worth big money in the USA. Keep it as original as possible with sensible mods I reckon.

Haha thanks mate but we'll keep the factory motor at this point. Down the track its definitely an option.
Hey mate, you could couple a small generator head to the PTO drive. It would fit perfectly within that section under the seat.

Mate my old man has one of those beasts that he just sold off his farm. Great old vehicles. Go forever. I do miss the series 1 landrover he had though. Wish that one never got sold. :( Admittedly it did have the rings on top of two of the 4 pistons. But it still ran with 25 PSI in 2 cylinders. :)

The other day I was grinding, with my chainsaw face mask on (mesh). I felt a pain just beside my eye where a chunk hit my skin. Lucky it wasn't my eye. I forgot my safety glasses under the guard!

I had a 78 model for a fair while. Take the cap off the back of the transfer case and check if the main transmission single nut wut puny lock tab is loose. I locktited mine and smashed it right with a cold chisel. They won't flex much and if you have the HWA model the back diff is bigger than anything I've ever seen. They are rough ..thirsty..slowish..brakes optional..but when in the shit you will easily crankstart the bastard and get home. I never had an issue with going off-road in places people would not go into and the best bit is ya stick a hose inside to clean up for next time. I'd buy another one tomorrow for local bush and beach but no money
Awesome work boys - the crossmember under the gearbox rotten? They all go that way - poorly designed to scoop mud in from the sides.
I used to own one of them, the motors are rock solid. 33 inch wheels would be good enough. Bigger will make it gutless.
Interesting project, surprised you're persevering with the factory engine and not committing to something else up front.
What's the plan? Going to take it on an epic trip or just restore it?
Worth getting on the car builders website now, even pulling the engine and gearbox for a proper clean and replace seals and wiring looks cooked
Going to stay with the original motor for the time being. The plan is to get it on the road and take on trips for sure.

Am chasing a g60 tray back ute body to do a cab swap on a coil td42 chassis if ya know of one?
