WE BOUGHT A $1,500 4WD from a bloke in the pub! Does it run?

- We've really done it this time! Shauno & Graham just bought a G60 patrol at a pub in Tassie - and you can guess what we're about to do with it! It doesn't get much better than wheeling the tough tracks of Tassie with your best mate, in an old bucket.
The old G60 is no show pony, and we've got our work cut out for us. Tune in for bush mechanics, dodgy roadside fixes, mechanical failures, old school 4wding and more!
The old rig wouldn't have made it much further without a suspension rebuild from fulcrumsuspensions.com.au/
Even old rigs deserve top notch tires, like our set from www.goodyear.com.au/
The G60 was brought back in to good wheeling condition with a handful of spare parts from our mates at www.drivetech4x4.com.au/
Don't go anywhere in a barn find without a good set of recovery tracks like ours from: www.maxtrax.com.au/
We only use the best oil, even in old junkers! Head to rego2oil.castrol.com/en_au/au... to find the right oil for your 4WD. - Авто та транспорт
If they end up keeping this Nissan then I would love to see an episode of the Nissan vs the Farm Truck
They better keep it, if we don't get G60 vs Farm Truck content, we will riot!
@@KarlEller I second that...
They should keep it and make it into the 4wd action comp rig/truck
@@ronaldodyra5799 I 3RD THAT!!!
Bloody Oath!
G60 and Hj47 to the simpson? would be a mad trip.
yes please
Great Idea mate👍
thats what i thought, the g60 was the first vehhicle to cross the simmo, after all
Do it
Good bloody idea
It's so good to see Shauno and Graham together again, they have the best chemistry
Sounds hell gay
@@bumndrass and that's a problem?
@@JohnErnstP76 not at all unless you have a problem with it 🤷 just calling it what it is.
@@JohnErnstP76 yes
@@bumndrass It felt gay to write but the heart wants what the heart wants
I love this type of content
And it shows people ya don’t need a 100,000 dollar rig
But if you have something like this you better know what you’re doing 😂😂😂
But you might need $100k to fix it so 🤷
I agree with you..however,i know luxury is not a must..but,whenever we can spent into luxury,is always appreciate...for our own comfort..
So true
No more sparesbox???
This rigs DEFINITELY found it’s way into Graham’s shed back home! If not surely Shauno gives his mate his dream rig.
And what a rig it is!!
I'd love to see Shauno give Graham his dream and see a shauno vs Graham toyota farm truck vs the patrol
When you put in perspective she’s a 50 year old rig which probably hasn’t been well maintained it’s done an awesome job
It's probably a cow cockie's round the town and farm truck.
When you think about how rough the Farm Truck was when Shauno first saw it, I think the G60 is in pretty good condition. At least it starts!
Damn need to wait another week. Never been so invested before in a single episode. Love that you blokes are showing yous can have fun without spending giant dollars.
They spent 3 days in the shop and lots of new parts and wheels were thrown at it.
@@Poppageno Yeah, probably a 10 grand car now.
@@Poppageno still cheaper than a 20 grand clapped hilux or their usual brand new rigs
We need to see graham build this up 😍
How good Would a restore then a Simpson crossing video be!!!
Got to love the old 3 speed manual, if I remember correctly 1st gear doesn’t have a synchro. Can’t find or grind it.
Graham so needs to buy it off Shauno, do it up, and take on the farm truck, would be an epic trip,
G8 vid lads
Great to see the old G60 out there roaring like they do.
Amazing how far it can go in those conditions, no centre diff, no diff locks or computer aided suspension control.
Just pure Nissan grunt.
You need to adjust all the brake shoes as close as possible to the drums to have a decent brake pedal. Regards Steve.
I love the geniune excitement Graham has when he walks up to that g60. Thats a bloke that loves his patrols and its not every year you get to see one let alone be able to drive it.
Ahh, Thursday evening with the 24/7 lads, nice one again from NZ.
+1 from NZ!!
They gotta do a trip over here
+2 from NZ
+1 from NZ
+3 from nz
Thats a old 4wd but it is still a Trooper!
Thats so awsome! Now you guys have to do a trip in just the old Girls, g60, 40 series and ponylux!!! Love your videos best reguards from Sweden
Shauno: I'll just back up
Graham: that would be more comfortable.
Oh man! Graham’s attitude throughout is hilarious! He’s so keen, I love it! Totally cheering up my Sunday morning! Cheers guys! KEEP ON ROLLING!
Brilliant! Love these sorts of videos. Bucket list stuff! Thank you for sharing
I’ve been waiting for this for a long time . Now let me grab a few colds ones and sit back enjoy watching this video of the old Nissan Patrol G60 😀👍.
You should give it graham , you can see he loves it , how cool both in the old trucks doing trips
The good thing on using vintage 4x4 is that you are teaching us to use basic truck to offset buying new 4x4 . That indeed is very helpful to poor viewers like us . thank you .
I can’t wait to see the next part of this adventure. It looks intense!! Love the idea of buying something sight unseen and taking it on an adventure. Great video boys!!
Hand it over to Graham mate… the look on his face when he seen it was priceless …. Can’t wait for the next one
YES! Been keen for this one
I had a 1980 G60 that I took to many places the most memorable was driving it to the tip of Cape York including driving across the Jardine River up and back. Did Gunshot as well. Your G60 deserves to be sorted and preserved, great video, bought back memories!!
It’s a non synchro 3 speed. That’s why it doesn’t want to go into 1st while you’re moving
just gotta give er a big rev she'll go in
@@victor22366 that particular box won’t go into 1st while the vehicles moving.
Clutchless shift, you have to manually sync the RPM's to the gear speed.🤣🤣🤣
Learned to drive in an old Holden with three on the tree and no synchro on 1st. Simple double clutch, no issues.
@@rickfletcher8422 it will if you can drive non synchro ,it wont go in at thirty k an hour as you cant rev match it ,spent a wasted youth ina g 60 and bloody land rovers ,they dont have synchro on first either
I'll tell you what...you guys know how to have an adventure!
Can't wait to watch the next episode and I've all my toes and fingers crossed along with anything else I can find in Suport of you two Guys.
It’s good to see a more mechanical side of the show, on older rigs too. The off-roading is also brilliant. Need to get Jock back too.
These are the type of episodes that I love! More budget trucks and different old school 4x4s please.
You would never have this much of a pearler of a time and such a great laugh in a 200 series. This G60 was a great find. An absolute Hooter.
Shauno, give the G60 to Graham. Make sure you guys get it in a comparable condition to the HJ47, then show us how capable 2 stock Relics are. The fact the G60 survived this long means it deserves to be kept in running order, will make far better viewing than 200 series Computer controlled 4wd.
That is a good idea mate👍🏻
And bring jocko with the red lux
G60 40 series Milo V2 and jockos red lux
I'm stoked to see they have another G60 on the show after so long.
Makes me look forward to picking my MWB up in a few weeks time and see how she goes.
Loved this. Brought back lots of memories of doing similar things when I was younger lol
Yes I will tune in next Thursday! Can’t wait!
Thats awesome! Huge fan love your videos keep it up legends🤙
Wow. This is my dream rig. What a find and what an episode!
Loving the content fellas. Binge watched this the last few weeks and was inspired to sell my xr8 and buy a fourby. Keep up the good work
Josh and the boys at Eurotech are bloody brilliant, highly recommend them for all your servicing and repairs
G60 was my first Fourby back in the 80's. It was a beast to drive and I certainly wouldn't want one for a daily driver today but whenever I see one now it makes me happy.
I like to watch Shauno & Graham doing anything , 4WD driving , cooking , fishing , working on their cars , or just talking , doing a travelling vlog , they are entertaining no matter what they do !!
I have been waiting for this one. Keep it up boys 👍👍
This is one of the most fun videos you've done. Enjoyed every minute of it.
this is by far the best one yet had a good time watching thanks guys
Blows my mind the content you guys put out for free. Thanks guys
A lot of nostalgia in this one for me. I learnt to drive in my grandfathers G60. No power steering, 3 on the tree and a quarter turn lag in the steering wheel. Drove it home from vicroads after getting my learners permit with the little straight six screaming its head off topped out at 90km/h on the highway!
Great episode. Looking forward to seeing the tassie trip
Wow! This channel has really grown. I remember waking up in Florida and there'd be only a couple hundred views. Today there's a couple of thousand. And for good reason. Great content guys.
My first Nissan was a G60. Loved it! No aircon, couldn’t hear the radio, and drank fuel like I had shares in Ampol, but I loved it. Had to get rid of it when pieces of the body and the chassis started falling out on the road. But it was a tractor and went anywhere.
I still love my Nissan’s , on my fifth one now. A 91 GQ
Absolutely love it! Love the vids 👍🏼
We have some cool barn finds here in the US, but that’s a awesome find. Love the whole process from purchase to wheeling.👍🏻👊🏻🙌🏻
I’ll never forget the time I replaced the rear brake shoes on 79 Nissan Patrol G60 only a few hours before an 800 km drive out bush on a hunting trip , I had to pump the brakes a bit before they worked just fine . I think the 4wd store gave me the wrong brake shoes . I quickly got used to the brakes and left them as they were , I just wouldn’t let anyone else drive the G60 . Shauno you’re not supposed to put it in 1st gear when the vehicle is moving, only put in first gear when completely stopped . I look forward to next weeks video.
Love it. Now I know where the ‘spontaneous’ directors from Top Gear found a job. 😄👍
of course the exhaust came off sounds like every other patrol now
That was a brilliant episode guys! Can't wait for the next one.
How good is it to see 4wd247 getting back to it original platform that made so many of love this show
I recon this will now tripple the value of the old G60's... so glad i have one here in the process of resto modding it.
This is such a good video they just keep getting better
YesSiRr!! Awesome stuff Fellas!! Love yah Work!!
These guys have the juice!!!!!!! 🍻 Cheers boys good luck with this one! Wish I was there! 🍻🍻
Love the Show, watching from South Africa you boys sure know how to 4x4, thumbs up
Mate what a find 🤤 one hell of a rig
the best type of 4wd 247 vid. bloody love it
In 1980 we use to get around the Top-End in one of those old bangers& it was very capable off road, back then it was nothing fancy but it was a bloody tough rig.
The only drawback with the old 60 was the three speed gearbox, good down low off-road but a real pain on the highway if you wanted to get anywhere the same day.
Hey this is the best episode ever. I tell u what. When u guys are done with this rig I wanna buy it. I’m love with the g60s. My husband had one when we met. It was the first thing we ever did together was go 4wding in his 79 g60 mwb 😍
Now Jocko needs a series land rover to complete the trio
Or convert an old Toyota stout to 4wd being that he is a hilux boy 👍
Just needs the old red lux
Yup sounds nice, throw a Willys CJ in that mix and it will be The Battle of the Legends :)
Or an original Jeep
Old land rovers need to be forgotten about ...
They were fragile and abysmal
I speak from first hand experience
Stick with the old Japanese
They might have been prehistoric but they were tough!
Shauno's first decent purchase! 👌 lol
Glad to see you blokes in Tassie. The best State in the country.
I had a G60 many years back - put a good carby, suspension and tires... couldn't stop it - 3 speed no syncro manual - so much fun - did the cape in it in 1984. not much comfort but hard to stop it in any conditions.
Had a ball on Jeffries Track myself over Christmas. The 105 did it easily but it may be a different story in the wet. Cant wait to get back on the boat with the car in the winter and try out some of these Tassie tracks.
Brings back memories of 4wding with my old man in Tassie in our G60 Wagon in the late 70’s. They really are a beast!
really enjoyed this thanks chaps
You guys put on a great show.
Hello from across the big pond! I have been watching your guys videos forever! Been trying to get my dad to take the Jeep on an overland expedition! Maybe someday he will and we'll video it! Keep up with the awesome videos!
My old man had one of these and it’s what got me into 4wding. He drove from Darwin to Melbourne towing a tandem axle Millard. If u use the choke it acts like a cruise control
Guys, what an awesome episode, thoroughly enjoyed watching this 🤙🏼
The best youve guys have done eva!! Loved this episode...
Awesome epp guys!!!! This has me keen on an adventure!!!
Woo a G60 after the HJ47 !
Even if I'm a 40 series fanboy I have to admit that it's so rare to see those old Patrols detailed like that on UA-cam that this is very very cool !
CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT EP!!!!!!
cant wait for the next episode that was awesome!
Absolutely love the cheap truck challenges. It’s so much like my weekend trips.
Great episode guys can't wait for next week !
Most entertaining show to date! It so much more relatable.
The absolute best 4wd content on the tube. Love you guys!
The first crossing of the Simpson desert was by the Leyland Brothers in 1966 in two "Land Rovers"!!!!!.
It began May 3rd 1966 at Steep Point near Shark Bay WA (the most western point of the Australian mainland -Indian Ocean). It finished on August 20th 1966 at Cape Byron NSW (the eastern most point -Pacific Ocean).
Waypoints along the 26th parallel included Meekatharra, Wiluna, Carnegie, Gibson and Stony Deserts, Giles, Ayers Rock, Finke, Andado, Simpson's Desert (crossing took 22 days, 1105 sand ridges) Birdsville, Windorah, Cunnamulla, Goondiwindi, Lismore.
Not a Nissan!!!!
Aaaaarrrgh I have to work now. Looking forward to this best wishes from Blighty!!
Wd-40 under the distributor cap she would have fired right back up. I always keep a can in my Jeep. Love to see both of you guys on an adventure with a classic. I am sure Graham has that one parked in his barn, before it is all through.
weld a nut to to broken bolt sticking out and back it right out...looking forward to seeing this and the old yota on a trip! 👌
Always crackin up watching these vids!
Really impressed that old Patrol drove for 2 hours running on steam for coolant! Old cars rule! Great video boys was a hilarious one to watch haha yeeeew!
Have a MWB softy with a 265 hemi swap. projects stalled as I'm still looking for front fenders.
The grinding gears is because they don't have a first and reverse syncro, double clutch with a throttle blip it will go in like butter
thank you for sharing great joy video see old nissian
I love this machine and so eager to see coming video, from Saudi Arabia
Love this “in-the-midst-of-an-adventure” style!
Keep the fun coming guys
Yes! Love the truck. Have never seen let alone heard of one b4 (American. We didn’t get the cool trucks). Can’t wait till next week.
About bloody time! And go the old datto!!
I've never seen Shaun's face like that at the end of the video.... Godamn wow 😂... Awesome video!
Ending on a cliff-hanger! Next Thursday can't come soon enough!
That's the coolest moter shaun has ever got he should give it to Graham to keep and repair nice one boys
