Congrats! I literally got my first offer a day before my 1 year anniversary of being laid off. Got my second offer 2 weeks later. No referrals and direct applying on their careers site. I was in tech sales at 2 top software companies, so I wasn’t lacking in experience. If anyone else is in the same boat, please just stay diligent and know something is coming soon! Companies budgets are opening more and wanting to move quicker. Just research and prep for the interview. Good luck!
Hey there I really want a job that pays $40K I work minimum wage right now I’m struggling so hard because I dabbled in entrepreneurship for years so my resume sucks! My degrees in film! 😅 I’m 26. I’m in $8k worth of debt (I just bought a boat 😂) I don’t know what the heck to do would aiming for a tech sales job be too high? Should I search for less prestigious jobs
@@SaraWritesFantasy hey! Aiming for tech sales isn’t too high at all. Honestly if you’re aiming for $40k, an entry level role sales role will be just right for you. I’d recommend searching for roles under: Sales/Business Development Representative, Account Development Representative and Inside Sales Account Executive roles. They will be more likely to teach you thru the sales methodologies for those roles. Higher levels prefer you to have some experience. I’d say that you can start off in these roles around $45-55k. With a potential to earn more based off of commission. Apply to as many as you can find in your area and be open to hybrid roles! Good luck 🙏🏾
@@vivianobia9000Thank you you’re an Angel! I have been applying to jobs with some of those key words (sales) however there are so many scams on indeed plus I don’t drive and they keep asking for a drivers license for the jobs that are based on commission. I think applying directly to the website + looking for jobs with the titles you suggested will help lots. Thxthxthx
@@python3240 unfortunately I have a mortgage. I kept paying on it for 7 months and went into forbearance for the last 5 months. But I had over $20k in savings still shortly after purchasing my home so that kept me afloat. Plus a little bit of unemployment for 6 months. It wasn’t much at all but better than nothing. I didn’t do a bridge job mainly bc no one would hire me, even for part time retail. So I basically did job searching as a full time job.
@@mjlambie_ciq Thanks Lambie! The algorithm is eerily good at pushing out my content to people I know in real life including past landlords 😂 Hope all is well with you
I am so happy for you! Congratulations on the new job, I hope everything goes well from here on in. You deserved something good happening for you, your patience in waiting even when you felt like giving up is admirable. I hope more good comes your way!
Idk you. But this video put a smile across my face. Congratulations man! I am also job hunting for 10 months now with no previous experience; tough it is to push through.
First off congrats on the new position. I can relate myself just landed a job after not working for 269 days. Relief is the word that I would say best describes how I feel too. I am so happy not looking at any more job descriptions and checking my email for potential interviews. Hope you do well in your new position and stay positive!
Congratulations 🎉 tech seller here who was on the bench for 16 months…then back in March I was in 3 interview cycles concurrently! 1 referral, 1 recruiter inbound, 1 recruiter outbound. 2 offers out of the 3. Back at it since April and the workload has been insane! Happy to be selling tech again for sure. Definitely bring the good, positive vibes to interviews-it makes a huge difference and recruiters and hiring managers will notice. Your number will come up. Keep going!!!
Congratulations Jeremy, I just watched your video some days ago, where you explained that you had applied to hundreds of positions and were still unable to land a job, and that helped me not feel alone in this process and continue to apply. Your persistence paid off. Wish you a lot of success in your new position. All the best.
Thank you for being so open. I just watched your video about submitting over 1500 applications and the emotional journey. Congratulations on getting the job! I’m getting a Bach in cyber and I’m hoping to finish in a year. Within that time, I’m putting emphasis on getting internships to get my foot in the door, fingers crossed. I’m a little bit older, but I’m hopeful. I look forward to more updates on your journey sir.
Loved this update! Congrats on the new role, and this is definitely proof that not giving up + self-confidence makes a difference. i appreciate you sharing the not-so-great parts of the job hunt, puts things into perspective.
Great!!! I seen your depressing video on 1500 job applications. The sad thing is that it's so hard to get a job is because there are so many embellishing on people resumes. The networking is the main reason why it's trusted in getting a job. I hope this makes you and everyone appreciate their current jobs. Five of years ago when there were so many workers that felt entitled in pay and benefits in their current jobs. Layoffs provide a reset on workers expectations.
I am happy for you bro!! 6 months in I stopped searching for now. I don't think im done looking for good. But i dont value a W2 like I did before now a days. These last few months have been very eye opening.
Oh my gosh congratulations! I watched your intiial video about losing your job? I think... and really resonated because as you said this job market is bonkers. To see your resilience and determination and use of rationale, research and even the importance of using body language and instinct to land this role is nothing short of inspirational! I understand having a need for caution even after the official job offer but You did it! Dont forget to take the time to celebrate this Win for yourself. If you're comfortable and If I may suggest I would love a vid update like your 1st 30 days or a day in the life of vid of your new position. I think its motivational for those of us still on the job hunt and could provide just tips for starting a new job too cause thats a whole nother bridge to tackle. Anyway Congrats again this is absolutely well deserved!
