A character in this series that I am most worried about is Stefan, given that he was getting his taste of running in the roads by attempting to help his female friend in selling the gun she found. Although it is unlikely, he would last long enough in the roads since the deal went wrong almost costing his life if it weren't for his older brother Jamie stepping in. However, witnessing the death of Jamie and losing his best friend to roads is enough to drive someone mad. Both Jamie and Ats became a product of their environment costing them their peace, freedom, and lives and I fear that Stefan will also be headed into the same direction. Who knows what the final upcoming season will bring but one thing I believe we can all agree on is that nobody is safe.
What you talking about that scene was put in there purposely for the fact that it shows us rhe viewer rhat Stefan already knows how to cock a gun and all that, looks like he did it with ease when he pulled it on the man in the flat, straight out his pocket and pulled the hammer back no trouble, 100% wasn't the first time he tried it out. It clearly shows or tells us Stefan is going down that road, especially after seeing his brother die the way he did

The more I think about it, the more I understand why Sully said “Just because we didn’t lose, doesn’t mean we won.” That move Dushane pulled was basically him calling the cops on his competition. It was BS. And he got a 14 yr old killed because of it, which is a recurring theme with the Summerhouse crew, getting youngin’s caught up and killed in the game. That’s why I think Jaq took Ats death so hard as well, she knew the part she played in him dying.

I had a feeling someone was going to die immediately when they were showing the happy montage at the end and the only person they didn’t show was Sully. It basically confirmed when Stef went to answer the door but Jamie insisted. It reminded me of a scene from the original Dragon Ball where Goku leaves something behind at the end of the tournament and tries to go get it but Krillin insist on getting it instead and is ultimately killed by King Piccolo
Killing off Jamie was a bad move. He brought the young fresh vibe to the show and it was leading to a eventually showdown between him and dushane or sully. He reminded me of Marlo in the wire. Marlo was a young charismatic and smart and we rooted for him cause we could relate, much like Jamie. Instead they wrote Jamie into an overzealous ungrateful eediott which only justified his killing.
That's the thing about life in Western Society some people have good morals but they use their current environment to get what is needed. Jamie is one of those characters where he has no other choice but to take care of his brothers. In the most effective way possible. But then there is trying to be the Top Boy which can seem selfish. Especially if they are doing well not as the Top Boy.
Didn't one of the brothers have a job? Can't he contribute? Plus council flats do help with housing benefit and probably as he's a guardian for a child he'd probably get support for that either so that's aload of shite tbh now he ain't supporting shit cause he dead 😄

None of them are saints but Sully and Jamie definitely had a...better moral compass I guess?

I really wish they'd take more time to look at the lives of the vulnerable children that get groomed by these gangs and used as dealers and traffickers (e.g., on county lines). It's possible to have a bit of sympathy for Jamie given his family situation, but how can you think that Dushane, a man pushing 40 with an amazing flat and plenty of cash, is 'blurring the line between right and wrong' by being head of a gang that uses children to sell drugs? I also have no sympathy for Shelly, given she must know this but is still with him and brings her daughter to his house.
those kids also need money, you see how ats was struggling with money cause his mom was facing deportation and went straight to a hot boy asking for work when he was like 11 years old. its a crazy cycle.

This season for me just wasn’t as good. 1) Season 1 ending with the undercover cops leading an investigation to take Dushane down was a great twist to end the show but in this season they were pretty useless and they gave their identities away whilst Dushane was in court and that was it. Nothing at all really considering how much of a vital role they could’ve played especially the fact they were undercover the whole of last season. 2) Sully seemed like he was done from life and I remember seeing a lot of rumours that he may have left Dris to flee rather than killing him especially given the fact that they both know how it’s like to have a daughter so maybe that could’ve been a reason. Also the fact that it showed Sully struggling to pull the trigger. But as season 2 went on it gave the impression he did kill Dris and this was affecting him being with Dushane etc especially because he was the one that gave Sully the order. But we find out in a later episode in season 2 that Dris was shot 20 times. That must mean that Sully is actually crazy crazy in the head and no other explanation. So him being all depressed and hiding out just seemed stupid. 3) shelly Being harassed by a women that nobody even knows was just annoying. Yes the directors are tryna give a bit of backbone to her character and show even the so called “good” people have a dark past. Imo it was just a bit pointless and lead to crappy dead end. 4) Lizzie who played a big part in season 1 was understandable because she was the main supplier but in this season we didn’t even need her. She was just a link maybe to the whole “Moroccan Spain” thing that wasn’t even major come to think of it now. She was just already telling Jamie to snake Dushane when he gets there. Just a stupid move. 5)BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Killing off Jamie of course. His whole character was just poorly written. Was a proper small fish in this season which is understandable coz he works for Dushane now and was kind of under his thumb. But him trying to snake Dushane in the same season that Dushane helped him avoid prison was just crappy writing. I get it that the whole show might be about “Sully and Dushane” but come on. His whole persona was ruthless in a smart way in season 1 and always being a step ahead in the game which made him on Top from Season 1 straight away. But even we know that this was a schoolboy error and just stupid. The only thing that makes sense how the writers portrayed him in this season was to not give him that vital type of role and focal point because they were gonna kill him off anyways and plus maybe the actor in real life Michael Ward who plays Jamie is moving on to other things. That’s the most logical explanation because why would you get rid of a cast member who was bringing a lot more light to Top Boy for the good.
100% with Shelleys annoying mate, Lizzie and the under covers. Should never had any air time any of them. I think we have to remember this isn’t Hollywood and stays true to real life and Jamie’s killing was a portrayal of that. A little illogical, human, no Forgiving. I even go as far to say the whole Curtis storyline was pointless too. Jamie going wasnt a bad choice. I think they could have impacted it better in season 5. But as I said no fairytale needed. Ideally they would have dropped stories and focused more on Spain / Morocco / Jamie’s character. At end of day it’s one season out of 4 soon to be 5 really, so sometimes used for character building. Talk of unpredictability, Like Game of thrones, This series was one of the best story lines I have ever followed and watched. I would rate this artwork an 8.5 or even a 9.
Sounds very cool and philosophical, too bad that ain't the truth. We do have choices. But it takes some guts to do the right thing. @@yhwhal this isn't true. A lots changed and welfare benefits have been slashed even for the most vulnerable. A lot of European countries have more caring social systems than Britain. A lot of people are really struggling and it just takes one bad situation for you to be pushed into choices you wouldn't make if you weren't struggling so badly.
That last episode was Stefan's villain origin story. There was a lot of foreshadowing of Stefan heading towards a path similar to that of his brother. But now we know he's definitely about to turn for the worst.
Jamie was killed because he was a rat. 1. Sully and Dushane see things differently. Dushane thinks by killing Kit that Jamie is Loyal. Sully see’s it that if you can kill your best friend, a someone you have been with since day 1 then your not loyal. Sully actually says this to Dushane when Dushane say’s he’s loyal he killed Kit….. Sully says yeah he did that for you!. 2.Jamie tried to screw them over Morocco. Sully knows that Jamie can’t be trusted. 3. As much as Jamie did what he did for his brothers, Sully doesn’t know that!. We as the audience see a softer side to Jamie. We know the backstory of his parents and how he’s trying to raise his brothers the best he can. But the streets don’t know that. Sully doesn’t know that. 4. Sully doesn’t want to be Top Boy so it’s not over jealousy. In many ways Sully is already Top Boy. The youngens all look upto him, and he answers to absolutely no-one. Dushane might very well be Top Boy in terms of business, But Sully is Top Boy on the streets 5. The whole Dris thing is different. He betrayed Sully. Kit didn’t do anything to Jamie. He actually looked after his Brothers when he was away and was always their for him
So basically.. Pebbles is the reason why Jamie died and why Sully lost like 4 seasons of growth and character development. I really don’t know how to feel about that..
@@arancienne Sully almost died trying to get Pebbles out of the situation with Cyprus and Kadeem, while he was moving away from the roads. Dushane had to step in and save him, and then Sully owed Dushane. That’s why he went to Spain to deal with the Juan El Bueno situation and found out Jamie was snaking them, which led to Sully deciding to Kill Jamie. Had it not been for Pebbles Sully would’ve never got back into the life and Jamie would’ve still Been alive, it’s all one big domino effect

And yes Jamie died cause he snaked but had Sully not gone to Spain he would’ve not found out and Jamie would still be alive. It ALL leads back to Pebbles you see?
Jamie was just a young man taking care of his brothers the best way that he knew how. Unfortunately, we have to face some of our wrong decisions in the worst ways. Very sad to see him killed that way and choking for breaths.
This breakdown is great because it mentions that a lot of what they did was wrong but it shows their reasons why they were in that life. And these are just people just trying to survive!

I forget the names; but pebbles for sully, the white woman got Jamie done; the lil girl got Jamie killed, bc he thought he was her at the door, the white lady making this girl dig up a body n sht. Dushanne n his moms, he got out the deal n now is forced to stay in longer which by all means will lead to downfall. Sht even the Spanish dude w his dying wife which made everything shaky to begin with. This show has a lot of layers once u start thinking n it’s why I like it!

The more i watch this show the more i love sully and his development/arc. Seeing him go from leaving prison to be back under dushane, to losing jason and himself. Finally he steps up to his position, goes to spain to embarrass jaime and ultimately takes him off the board

Sully's character confuses me so much. He just got done trying to fix his morales with Mandy to help her get Erin back. Then he goes and shoots Jamie right infront of his brothers knowing thats hes all they have. The character development on this show is weird and I hated that they killed Jamie for shock value and with no clear motive.

Killing Jamie is the equivalent if game of thrones killed off Jon Snow. Ned Stark of course was the first shock cause of the way we've been formated into following characters assuming they'll carry on for long periods, after his death then Rob was gone, at that point he was supposed to be the hero but at least the lead of the show was pretty much spread around multiple characters where Jon Snow was the most relatable to the audience, so you really really couldn't touch him,

This series is about the egos of Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson, as they put themselves front and centre. I'm old enough to relate to the first generation of Top Boy, but I still respected the addition and development of the new characters, led by Jamie. This season wiped out EVERYONE who wasn't Dushane/Sully or Dushane/Sully underling. There was ZERO character development, and ZERO plot. Even the inclusion of the undercover detectives and Ruben was pointless to the latest series. Lastly, all the hype about Steph and Aaron 'taking over' - WITH WHAT CREW? Jamie killed his #2 and there will logically be no loyalty shown to Jamie's brothers by the ZT leftovers. At best the writers will have to redo all of season 1 with new characters. This season was a total mess, and screams of a mid-season re-writes and a disappointing lack of commitment to the project by both the actors and the producers.

Great point. I end up siding with none of the main characters, they all deserve to go IMO. The heroes are the people like Ats' Mum, just trying to get by and live a good life with a load of roaming maniacs as neighbours.
The more I think about it, the more I understand why Sully said “Just because we didn’t lose, doesn’t mean we won.” That move Dushane pulled was basically him calling the cops on his competition. It was BS. And he got a 14 yr old killed because of it, which is a recurring theme with the Summerhouse crew, getting youngin’s caught up and killed in the game. That’s why I think Jaq took Ats death so hard as well, she knew the part she played in him dying.

I had a feeling someone was going to die immediately when they were showing the happy montage at the end and the only person they didn’t show was Sully. It basically confirmed when Stef went to answer the door but Jamie insisted. It reminded me of a scene from the original Dragon Ball where Goku leaves something behind at the end of the tournament and tries to go get it but Krillin insist on getting it instead and is ultimately killed by King Piccolo

Killing off Jamie was a bad move. He brought the young fresh vibe to the show and it was leading to a eventually showdown between him and dushane or sully. He reminded me of Marlo in the wire. Marlo was a young charismatic and smart and we rooted for him cause we could relate, much like Jamie. Instead they wrote Jamie into an overzealous ungrateful eediott which only justified his killing.
No one liked Marlo. Jamie became a likable character. Everyone wanted Marlo dead.

None of them are saints but Sully and Jamie definitely had a...better moral compass I guess?

I really wish they'd take more time to look at the lives of the vulnerable children that get groomed by these gangs and used as dealers and traffickers (e.g., on county lines). It's possible to have a bit of sympathy for Jamie given his family situation, but how can you think that Dushane, a man pushing 40 with an amazing flat and plenty of cash, is 'blurring the line between right and wrong' by being head of a gang that uses children to sell drugs? I also have no sympathy for Shelly, given she must know this but is still with him and brings her daughter to his house.
those kids also need money, you see how ats was struggling with money cause his mom was facing deportation and went straight to a hot boy asking for work when he was like 11 years old. its a crazy cycle.

This season for me just wasn’t as good.
1) Season 1 ending with the undercover cops leading an investigation to take Dushane down was a great twist to end the show but in this season they were pretty useless and they gave their identities away whilst Dushane was in court and that was it. Nothing at all really considering how much of a vital role they could’ve played especially the fact they were undercover the whole of last season.
2) Sully seemed like he was done from life and I remember seeing a lot of rumours that he may have left Dris to flee rather than killing him especially given the fact that they both know how it’s like to have a daughter so maybe that could’ve been a reason. Also the fact that it showed Sully struggling to pull the trigger. But as season 2 went on it gave the impression he did kill Dris and this was affecting him being with Dushane etc especially because he was the one that gave Sully the order. But we find out in a later episode in season 2 that Dris was shot 20 times. That must mean that Sully is actually crazy crazy in the head and no other explanation. So him being all depressed and hiding out just seemed stupid.
3) shelly Being harassed by a women that nobody even knows was just annoying. Yes the directors are tryna give a bit of backbone to her character and show even the so called “good” people have a dark past. Imo it was just a bit pointless and lead to crappy dead end.
4) Lizzie who played a big part in season 1 was understandable because she was the main supplier but in this season we didn’t even need her. She was just a link maybe to the whole “Moroccan Spain” thing that wasn’t even major come to think of it now. She was just already telling Jamie to snake Dushane when he gets there. Just a stupid move.
5)BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Killing off Jamie of course. His whole character was just poorly written. Was a proper small fish in this season which is understandable coz he works for Dushane now and was kind of under his thumb. But him trying to snake Dushane in the same season that Dushane helped him avoid prison was just crappy writing. I get it that the whole show might be about “Sully and Dushane” but come on. His whole persona was ruthless in a smart way in season 1 and always being a step ahead in the game which made him on Top from Season 1 straight away. But even we know that this was a schoolboy error and just stupid. The only thing that makes sense how the writers portrayed him in this season was to not give him that vital type of role and focal point because they were gonna kill him off anyways and plus maybe the actor in real life Michael Ward who plays Jamie is moving on to other things. That’s the most logical explanation because why would you get rid of a cast member who was bringing a lot more light to Top Boy for the good.

Morals are NOT open to debate. Also strictly talking about the UK, the UK government is probably the best out there to help the people with no income or low income. @@yhwhal this isn't true. A lots changed and welfare benefits have been slashed even for the most vulnerable. A lot of European countries have more caring social systems than Britain. A lot of people are really struggling and it just takes one bad situation for you to be pushed into choices you wouldn't make if you weren't struggling so badly.

That last episode was Stefan's villain origin story. There was a lot of foreshadowing of Stefan heading towards a path similar to that of his brother. But now we know he's definitely about to turn for the worst.

1. Sully and Dushane see things differently. Dushane thinks by killing Kit that Jamie is Loyal. Sully see’s it that if you can kill your best friend, a someone you have been with since day 1 then your not loyal. Sully actually says this to Dushane when Dushane say’s he’s loyal he killed Kit….. Sully says yeah he did that for you!.
2.Jamie tried to screw them over Morocco. Sully knows that Jamie can’t be trusted.
3. As much as Jamie did what he did for his brothers, Sully doesn’t know that!. We as the audience see a softer side to Jamie. We know the backstory of his parents and how he’s trying to raise his brothers the best he can. But the streets don’t know that. Sully doesn’t know that.
4. Sully doesn’t want to be Top Boy so it’s not over jealousy. In many ways Sully is already Top Boy. The youngens all look upto him, and he answers to absolutely no-one. Dushane might very well be Top Boy in terms of business, But Sully is Top Boy on the streets
5. The whole Dris thing is different. He betrayed Sully. Kit didn’t do anything to Jamie. He actually looked after his Brothers when he was away and was always their for him
Jamie owes Sully no loyalty plus you act like Dushane and Sully didn't snake Jamie to get to the top. He was supposed to kill them for that you know

@@arancienne Sully almost died trying to get Pebbles out of the situation with Cyprus and Kadeem, while he was moving away from the roads. Dushane had to step in and save him, and then Sully owed Dushane. That’s why he went to Spain to deal with the Juan El Bueno situation and found out Jamie was snaking them, which led to Sully deciding to Kill Jamie. Had it not been for Pebbles Sully would’ve never got back into the life and Jamie would’ve still Been alive, it’s all one big domino effect

And yes Jamie died cause he snaked but had Sully not gone to Spain he would’ve not found out and Jamie would still be alive. It ALL leads back to Pebbles you see?

Jamie was just a young man taking care of his brothers the best way that he knew how. Unfortunately, we have to face some of our wrong decisions in the worst ways. Very sad to see him killed that way and choking for breaths.
This breakdown is great because it mentions that a lot of what they did was wrong but it shows their reasons why they were in that life. And these are just people just trying to survive!

I forget the names; but pebbles for sully, the white woman got Jamie done; the lil girl got Jamie killed, bc he thought he was her at the door, the white lady making this girl dig up a body n sht. Dushanne n his moms, he got out the deal n now is forced to stay in longer which by all means will lead to downfall. Sht even the Spanish dude w his dying wife which made everything shaky to begin with.

Sully's character confuses me so much. He just got done trying to fix his morales with Mandy to help her get Erin back. Then he goes and shoots Jamie right infront of his brothers knowing thats hes all they have. Killing Jamie is the equivalent if game of thrones killed off Jon Snow. Ned Stark of course was the first shock cause of the way we've been formated into following characters assuming they'll carry on for long periods, after his death then Rob was gone, at that point he was supposed to be the hero but at least the lead of the show was pretty much spread around multiple characters where Jon Snow was the most relatable to the audience, so you really really couldn't touch him,

I'm old enough to relate to the first generation of Top Boy, but I still respected the addition and development of the new characters, led by Jamie.
This season wiped out EVERYONE who wasn't Dushane/Sully or Dushane/Sully underling.
There was ZERO character development, and ZERO plot. Even the inclusion of the undercover detectives and Ruben was pointless to the latest series.

At best the writers will have to redo all of season 1 with new characters. This season was a total mess, and screams of a mid-season re-writes and a disappointing lack of commitment to the project by both the actors and the producers.
Sully is coward. Couldn't handle Jaime on the roads. So had to get man in peace times. Coward move. Jaime had him and Dushane on the ropes last season. He was pissed cause he knew he was nothing compared to Jaime. And knew he couldn't take him on the roads so made the coward move and took man out while.all the beef had died down. Sully Will lose respect for that decision.

Jamie was planning on having him and Dushane killed eventually man when he spoke to the fed in Morocco he said that dushane won’t be in charge much longer because he was going to cap him. The guy even said before he died that Jamie said they had big plans and sully heard that, is sully supposed to hear he wants to take over then see he will even cap his best mate and trust him? It wasn’t an ego thing Jamie would snake any man to be on top even his best mate and he tried killing them last season and tried snaking them again. That should of been the exact time he should.put a plan in motion to.kill dushane and Sully with Kit and get the rest of the fields mandem on it. But instead he kills his right hand. Jaime made the wrong choice dealing with dem man cause he put his guard down.

the only thing I didn't like in this series is Dushane. his character was crap he should've been killed in this season because he doesn't play a boss role the guy has made money and then says fuck where I come from and joins forces with people no one likes and that's so deep. sully has one of the best characters. he's really the topboy his characters actions speak volumes and I feel his character was written and played so well and the build up has been crazy. second to sully is jaq the character is sick. its so London but yeah they gotta get rid of Dushane or actually do something with his character that really signifies that man is from ends but the real ending will show that there's no out of the life the character has to die.
