I am glad to have seen this old Marble's knife. Whomever makes the Marbles knives of today makes some great knives, even if they are foreign made. Their fit, finishing, and sharpening is supurb!
Wow Kevin that Marbles folding hunting knife is sweet and haven't seen one yet, Marbles Gladstone factory is a few hours north of me and what I love about the blade on this knife your fixing has the patent Marbles Fuller they started that all knives with a fuller on the blade have on them now! The Fuller was designed not as a blood groove that people mistakenly call it now but a groove to put your right hand if right handed on and your left hand on the handle to aid in sharpening there Scandinavian style flat edge blade quickly in the field another design they started at Marbles, the Kabar was designed and so was buck and case off these principles of the fuller Marbles designed, try sharpening one of these knives on an oil or wet stone with the fuller and see how easy it was for Soldier's and hunters to sharpen them quickly in the field !! Sweet Knife indeed!! Marbles started it all the king of the fixed blade!! even the stacked leather handles where spun off of Marbles inventing it as well true Iconic American Cutlery Company!!! Hoorah!!!
Hey Kevin, I have never heard of marble knives! That is very cool knife and your friend really struck gold. Some of those knives sell for a lot more money and that would be something to add to your collection!
That's a carving of a wolverine Kevin a State animal there! The Michigan Wolverines College football team ring a bell?? And the other carving is a reindeer, middle carving appears to look like a Doe Reindeer with the Buck behind it, both animals are seen and Iconic to the State of Michigan!!
Your fiber wheel was red today. Excellent job with the tip of the knife that cleaned up great. Awesome video as always. What a cool knife I have to find me one like that. 🙏🏻
What's up Doc! I cannot believe it sometimes the funny coincidences. I was in my favorite pawn today and I just sent you some photos of a Marbles No. 5 Safety Axe that they had, and here you are once again blowin' my mind Doc. God bless and thanks for another informative and great video. God bless and prayers going out to all. -Dave from Eureka
I got one in stag handles about a month ago the owner had no idea what it was so I gave him what he wanted. 😅$20 ill send you a picture I knew about the marbles safety ax so I was familiar to them. Worth about $750 or more. Be safe and GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸 🙏
I subbed at bubbas ! But I already was subbed to Carolina knives . I watch him been watching him the last month or so, been watching you for along time now! Winning a knife from you would be cool but i still watch if not, thanks for the video Doc!
That’s a very nice knife. I always enjoy your videos. I think that’s an otter or a fisher on that knife. If you ever get time, let me know about them horns. Thank you.
I saw a variation of this Marbles knife in the same time period, and it was bobcat stalking quail on one side. The bobcat looked similar to the unidentified animal on your knife.
I’d like to know the manufacturer, composition, and purpose of that wheel, Kevin. I’m learning that the choice of wheel can be important when it comes to cleaning and buffing a knife, especially when you’re concerned about not damaging the polished surfaces. Thanks.
love yoru channel I watch tons of your videos. I have a USA made Colonial Flding buck knife Ive had for 40 years. about 38 yrs ago one of the nikel end caps came off and its driving me nuts. do you do repairs for people of something like this? I can send pics.? Let me know and your price. thanks

That there critter is a wolverine. Art in those days was no where near as detailed and accurate. Plus jst look at a photo of a German Shepard from the 1930s and then look at a current German Shepard. Jst imagine what a hunting knife will look like in 123 years.
My girls use to remind me of the boy Scout rule about never cutting towards yourself when we use to process walking staffs … I use to tell them :’do as I say not as I do’… I do apply painters tape sharp to old style hunters blades when cleaning .( one got me good)

Hello there I was the first one here lol
I wonder if HT has that one? That counts as a folding hunter right? Kind of looks like a weasel or dog or wolf. They drew them different back then.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Is the red fiber wheel a different brand and what abrasive grit is it?
Hey Doc...could it be a bear or mountain lion on the knife handle?
$500.00 plus for a used knife in that condition could fetch a $1000.00 the right buyer who wants it!!
Looks like a giant cheetah
How much$ for the Ellaville K Show knife?
It says $69 plus shipping and taxes
Id say caribou and wloverine on handle
What's the red wheel on the grinder Doc?
It’s another fiber wheel. Maybe a little bit softer.
@theknifedoctor gotcha 👌🏻 👍🏻 😉
Where did you get'em?
Why is he always looking at old value guides? Aren't there current guides with today's pricing?
I haven’t found any worth buying.
I'd say it's worth 150 or so

I've watched a lot of your " restoration job's " apparently people have low expectations.
👍🖐️✌️👌🫶♥️🇨🇦
I just hate when you push open a knife with the sharpened edge. One of these days you're going to need stitches.
He loves stitches
