    Hi Gene! I don't know how I missed this video, when you posted it. I'm glad I found it, this morning. The crusher looks so much better with your special touches. The gears look so realistic. Nice work! I'm glad the cbd oil is helping. I've suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for years and it got to the point where none of the medications doctors prescribed would help. One doctor suggested I get a medical marijuana card and try it. I was reluctant, at first, because I've never been into drugs, but I was at my wits end. So I tried it and it has helped immensely. I do it mostly at night, before bed. I used to wake up, sometimes 4 or 5 times a night in pain, but now I sleep straight through the entire night. I also recently have found that certain foods, chemical additives, and dyes in foods can trigger auto immune and neurological symptoms in some people. I began a carnivore diet, eating only meat and what a difference! I'm slowly reintroducing vegetables, one at a time, to see how my body reacts. I believe that I've narrowed it down to products made from wheat, but I still have some more experimenting to do. I don't know if maybe something in your diet could be triggering the tremors, but I wanted to let you know, in case it could help you. There's a doctor Shawn Baker, that has a UA-cam channel, where he talks about all the diseases he's helped people with. Sorry for being so long winded. I don't tell many people about me using marijuana, but if it could help you, it's worth putting my personal life out there. I'll be keeping you in my prayers. 🙏 🙂

      Oh my word! I swear we must be brothers from a different mother! LOL. I am going through some similar things. My wife has me on a Keto diet that is pretty much meat and vegetables. “ when she said I could have all the bacon I want, I was sold”. But we are talking about an all carnivore diet as well. I have been thinking about the medical marijuana too. The drugs that where prescribed for me had side affects that are worse than the tremors. Plus I just don’t like taking that stuff. I agree about the diet. All the process foods out there is slowly killing us. I am thankful that my wife studies nutrition and has really been a big help. How do you take the hemp? I glad it is helping and so glad you reached out. You and your family are also in my prayers. Thanks again,
      Gene

      @@DIYGene Wow! We do have a lot in common. Like brothers from another mother! I would like to take the marijuana in pill form, but it's so expensive. I don't like smoking it, but it's what I do, because of the cost. I can be so tense from the pain and stiffness of the arthritis and I'll get almost instant relief, when I smoke just a little. I'm hoping they legalize edibles, like gummy bears with thc in them. It would be so much easier for me. It's great that your wife researches and helps you. The diet has changed my life. I've started exercising and I'm more active. I want to get back into guitar building and maybe some small projects around the house. Good luck with everything and take care!🙂

      @@DIYGene There was another thought i had. I was just thinking about something you said. The side effects of the meds. That's what made me decide to use the marijuana. It seems like every medication the doctors prescribed, gave me side effects. The one pain medication even increased the swelling my joints! And one arthritis medication had me laid out on the kitchen floor and I couldn't get up without my wife's help. It was horrible. I've never heard about any bad side effects from marijuana, other than getting the munchies and eating a whole bag of potato chips!😂

      Suffering from the same thing as you. I’ve never been into drugs or alcohol. A few years back my doctor prescribed those marijuana pills and like you said they’re to expensive. I am from a generation that is not okay with it. I started to smoke it and my dad that is 88 years old disowned me….I’m heartbroken. Our whole family was close and now I’m considered a drug addict. I just wish there was a cure. But I read what you said about wheat…my mom was heavy into macrobiotic diet when I was younger and by my preteen years she switched to vegan…I was Vegan up into my 30’s and when my mom passed away at 49 I just started eating other foods. My mom was very witty…she would say things like if it has eyes and a anus don’t eat it! Or that Sh*t will kill you. I do believe that the processed foods are what is causing so many ailments and it’s hard because when you walk into the store your surrounded by all the empty nutrients. As far back as I can remember when I would go to the store with my mom she would have me read labels on products; she would say if you can’t understand the word in the labels it’s no good. Your comment hit home with me.

    I haven't looked at all the comments but if you put the glue on one piece and spray the activator on where you are going to place the glued piece it will work better than spraying the activator on the glue itself. I like how your steam punk art turned out. My wife has essential tremor too.

    We had one of those can crushers when we were kids. I like all your videos! I’ve been watching your vids for quite a while and I’m in the middle of painting my shop around the garage doors to look like wood planks.. I am so close to finishing! I bought some of the supplies for the next project which is your steampunk garage doors. By the way I have bad hands and my doctor recommended cbd cream…I don’t like getting cortisone shots, but my wrists and hands swell from doing just about anything so it takes a little longer to complete whatever I’m working on…. They are coming up with great products to alleviate pain but I hope someday they come up with a cure for conditions like what we suffer from. I tend to overdue it just to try and complete a project and suffer for a week or two afterwards. But I get real excited when it’s completed! You are a big inspiration to me! Thank You!

    You did an amazing job on this DIY with those gears. Awesomely done my friend, so realistic! Now that CBD...you need to try some vape stuff. Appears as though its a nerve thing and when you put pressure on your hands like using the muscles in them to put pressure on squeezing some glue or whatever. I might suggest a keto or even Carnivore diet and see how you do that but I am sure some vegan somewhere (maybe even yourself) might not appreciate me LOL but the CBD oils I've tried were ineffective and the vape stuff can contain more of what really is what helps you relax and your muscles and nerves benefit. Thanks for another great DIY Gene!

      I have what is called Essential Tremors and I wont take the prescribed meds because the side affects are worse than the tremors. The CBD oil really hasn't done much. @@DIYGene I caught that early on in the video. Your honesty about the product you were given to try is also appreciated. I had done Keto for about 5 years and then was more carnivore before my mom got diagnosed with illness and I use it as an excuse but I fell out the wagon hard. Notice I didn't say fall off...sorry my sick humor makes me feel better bout that fact, however for health reason I am trying to get myself back to that way of life. It was amazing for so many things as I had experienced and that good feeling I didn't have otherwise is what kept me going and even when I would fall off and eat some garbage I would get right back into ketosis by making my next meal keto. I feel I have severe arthritis in my hands. knees and hips. But a bit more than a year ago I was at least 30 lbs lighter if not more and I didn't hurt all over. Anyway I love your style, the videos you have here on your channel are right in line with things I collect. I happen to have a real 1930's Railroad Telephone that looks a bit like the one you made from scratch you made a hidden cell phone charger from. That awesome steampunk fridge video you have is how I found you and I thought cool I might try that look with these shadow "risers" I've been thinking about making to house each of my 4 guitars I have collected. Then I see you have guitars also and you just so happened to have made those mounts to replace the crap ones you had yours hanging from. I'm hooked! So thanks so much for putting out such awesome content! Not sure if you do your editing but you really have a great HGTV or better worthy presence.

    Where did you get this idea? I love your videos, You're pretty ingenious / artistique. I have ET as well. I used Propranolol. Side physical effects can be brutal for the first 3 months(vertigo, tiredness, weight gain) it also change your brain chemistry, which also takes time to manage. It was a though decision to make but it has reduced tremors by 50% - 80%. depending on the day. It looks like CBD had some positive effects on you . In the past year I tried micro dosage of mushrooms. You should research that. I don't use that often but I find it helps (also for clarity, PTSD etc...) good luck and continue what you're doing!

    • @DIYGene
      @DIYGene  2 роки тому

      Paul, Thanks so much. This idea kinda came as I went along. It was fun making this one without a real plan. I’m sorry you suffer from ET too but it is nice to talk with someone with the same affliction. I also tried Propranolol and hated it. I felt listless and even depressed. I told the doc I would rather have tremors. So I am looking for a more natural remedy. The CBD oil might not be the answer but I think I helps some and I don’t feel any side effects. You said after about 3 months your body adapted to the drug? Maybe I didn’t give it a good enough chance. But I just wasn’t me. Thank you again for the comment and for watching. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
