Music video by Nirvana performing On A Plain. (C) 2009 Geffen Records
Introduced my kids to Nirvana just like my dad introduced me to the Beatles. Life comes full circle
My dad got super excited when he heard I listened to them 😁😱
Just make sure they don't introduce their kids to BTS or 1D
I get it lol although not an equal image or feel. Kinda like saying, here idolize drugs and depression, and by the way dont let the pain and suicide creep in lol shew. I love nirvana, but it's not the message I want my kids to adopt, even though I dont think it translated negative to all. The Beatles were a stretch for role models at times but for the most part conveyed happiness and peace, nirvana not so much, self loving, and push back against norms, at all cost, just very depressive in all the best ways if you can understand it, many didnt.
@@idontwantahandle436 uhh, kinda scary.
@@jeremywall7206 maybe just a little lol
Had this song stuck in my head while taking a test earlier. Geography tests are much more fun if you sing the answers in your head to this tune.
Hahahhahaha i'll try that too
WHERE IS BEY
JING LOCATED ?
IN CHINA
IN CHINA
*me in the class during the test*
Fuck that’s genius I Wish I would have thought of that when I was taking my shit
I did this in like 5th grade with sweet home alabama. "Sweet home Alabama-- MONTGOMERY!"
I just have all possible nirvana songs I can remember stuck in my head
Dave was a damn animal behind the drums! Wow!
Dave sure did bring a lot of energy to the band
There goes my hero...watch him as he goes.
He inherited the rock grunge love and kept it live.
@Goggle products go away troll
@Goggle products no it's genuinely a FE song
I can't get enough of this guy.. always will be in my heart..rest in peace
Goggle products you’re ✈️
This is seriously one of my favourite Nirvana songs.
The fact he played guitar as lead and sang on pitch always surprises me . He is a legend 🙌
Rithm guitar... but yeah he was a great vocalist
JIMI did it in the 60's
@@matt-SonsofLamechnope he was both rhythm and lead
@@gitarcikaii he dont have such a lead parts in his songs, they stand perfectly with just the bass and one guitar even if they later bring Pat to the band his work was more to give strongness to the kurt parts, there wasnt a real lead part going on
@@matt-SonsofLamech First, if you’re gonna have a fair argument and you wanna seem like an individual who knows what he’s talking about, have some proper grammar and punctuation man. Like the lack of apostrophe at don’t, and the fact that don’t is there at all instead of didn’t, you seem like someone who knows nothing. But that’s besides the point, you don’t need to be a fancy solo writer to be considered lead. I don’t know where you heard that, but that’s not what lead is. The fact that the majority of their career didn’t feature another guitar player, and Kurt did play solos (though quite mediocre), means he was the lead guitarist.
Man this song takes me back. Kurt was a genius in how he wraps the guitar and emotions of his life in his songwriting.
Yall realize these lyrics r all pulled out of his ass right?!!
@@darrylatkinson6007 even though this song is one of the more simple ones out there by Nirvana in a lyrical sense, the effortlessness, even unconsciousness with which he still makes beautiful puns and contradictory statements is fantastic. and even then there are subtle hints hidden about heroin: "I got so high, I scratched 'till I bled" (heroin makes you itchy), "I'm on a plain" (pretty self explanitory), "my mother died , every night" which may be a reference to the worries Kurt's mother had for him (or vice versa).
overall this is a song that is much more lighthearted and relatively optimistic, with Kurt showing self love while also feeling guilty about it. you'd almost say he wrote this while high, but we'll never know.
You learn a lot about who Kurt was from the lyrics in this song. What an incredible writer.
+Brim Fyshin you're right!
Its funny how people try to make a meaning out of nothing.
It's funny how people try to make a meaning out of nonsense from his head.
+xMrCory I get that and know he said that but he also essentially hated himself meaning he hated compliments and brushed them off, at the induction into the hall of fame his mother said "he would say he wasn't proud but he would be in truth" I think his mother is a reliable source for this 😂
Earth is a flat plane.... Kurt was right and sending you a secret message to go. :) Cheers! Look into Flat Earth.
Nirvana...best band ever!
@Ray yes!
ok EVER? nope. krist, kurt and dave would tell you that they wernt the greatest
@@anonymousgoat2837 so what.. that doesn't mean anything. It's still his subjective opinion. So, Oasis is the greatest band just because they themselves say so?
There's no objective answer to this anyway.
@@MrShahid0072I know there is no answer, but i am stating my opinion on this topic.
@@anonymousgoat2837 but you said even Kurt wouldn't have said that they were the best. I thought that was irrelevant to whether someone else might feel about Nirvana being the best band ever.
Epic bass line. Krist is awesome!
Timon!!! i love you, dood...
Kurt wrote every part to this song
@@delinseurn and managed to rock the world, unlike you

Nirvana were fukin awesome! always will be. I just haven't found any band I've got into as much! so many great tracks not just one or two.

Still probably my favorite song on this album.
This song always touched me the most on the Nevermind album, something about it, very moving.

Krist Novoselic is the most underrated Bassist ever!
Matheus Scher he's also a politician now I think
Matheus Scher ur so right
It’s not that hard to play nirvana songs(except for drums) especially on bass
@@johnharris2947 yea but he does an excellent job of sitting in the pocket and never messes up. Which really lets Kurt be Kurt
When I think of him I always remember when he tossed his bass way up in the air on stage at the (I think it was called) MTV Video Music Awards show and it came down on his face. The camera cut away really fast. I called my friend and asked “Did you see what I think I just saw?” He had 😂! Ouch! ... gonna have to go find this on UA-cam now...
Reading has gotta be one of their best concerts of all concerts. Miss you Kurt & 1992.
I'll start this off without any words
I got so high that I scratched 'till I bled
I love myself better than you
I know it's wrong so what should I do?
The finest day that I ever had
Was when I learned to cry on command
I love myself better than you
I know it's wrong so what should I do?
I'm on a plain
I can't complain
I'm on a plain
My brother died every night
It's safe to say, don't quote me on that
I love myself better than you
I know it's wrong so what should I do?
The black sheep got blackmailed again
Forgot to put on the zip code
I love myself better than you
I know it's wrong so what should I do?
I'm on a plain
I can't complain
I'm on a plain
Somewhere I have heard this before
In a dream my memory has stored
As a defense I'm neutered and spayed
What the hell am I trying to say?
It is now time to make it unclear
To write off lines that don't make sense
I love myself better than you
I know it's wrong so what should I do?
And one more special message to go
And then I'm done, then I can go home
I love myself better than you
I know it's wrong so what should I do?
I'm on a plain
I can't complain
I'm on a plain
I can't complain
I'm on a plain
I can't complain
John G my mother died
Nirvana will always have a special place in my heart but the live version of this song is on a whole different level. Live at Reading was one of the most influential pieces of media I've ever consumed as a teenager. Thank you Kurt,Krist, and Dave. I'l forever be in debt to you.
If I had a time machine the first thing I would do is see nirvana live! Wish I could have but I was 2 when he died. R.I.P
I was born two years too late to see Nirvana live...
2:05 love krists bass there
This is undoubtedly one of the greatest bands and one of the best songs of all time.
My favorite Nirvana song.
Amazing how much legendary music came from this trio. Nirvana -the best rock band of the 90s, with the greatest rock album (Nevermind) ever released.
was there that night - just an incredible performance
that sound just touches my soul, tank you Nirvana
I'm confident that Nirvana is the best, and most important rock band since Nirvana. Other, perhaps more impacting acts in rock history exist (e.g.; The Beatles, Elvis, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeplin, Eagles, Credence, etc.), but you have to go back to BEFORE Nirvana to find them. Since Nirvana, we've had nothing of this magnitude.
5 years ago and this is still true af
Probably one of my favourite songs of all time
this song makes me happy :)
Nirvana forever
Can’t believe his voice and guitar tone so clear and heavy at the same time. Can’t stop watching this time to time.
God, Im adicted to the songs of Nevermind, specially this one
The man is still alive in our heads and in our hearts. In my headcanon he is still alive somewhere enjoying being left alone.
this is one of my fav nirvana songs
First song I love from Nirvana. Sounds so punky.
Nah... Punk is usually faster, still one of my favourite songs tho
If you love punk listen to Buffy's Pregnant. That's an absolute 100% punk song.
Canadiana O territorial pisssings sounds really punky
Speed it up to 1.25, it sounds very punk.
This has to be one of their best shows
"I love myself better than you"
If Kurt actually believed these lyrics he would provably be here today
I'm 4 years late but this song is about doing heroin so it's means he's in a euphoric state Rather than sober
@@bigdawg6308 There's more to this song than just being in a euphoric state. Love myself better than you in particular
completely underrated
Nirnana The Best 👍
his eyes are closed most of the time, which shows that he was still very nervous of crowds, and afraid of rejection. man i wish he was still here :( he is my biggest influence when it comes to playing guitar.
I have a theory on why so many people dislike this concert. 2 actually. 1. Kurt seemed super focused and because of that the songs sound so much like there album versions. ( With exception of Love Buzz ) 2. They just don't like Nirvana and love to thumb down and talk shit about them. Me personally I love this concert, but it's not in my top five favorite Nirvana concerts. It's no where nearly as nasty and raw as Rome91, The Paradiso or the Paramount just to name a few. And those raw, nasty and energetic live performances are what I love most about Nirvana. To me that's what set them apart from everyone. But this is still absolute greatness. Fuck they played Lounge Act. That's reason enough to love this concert....Hardcore fans will understand where I'm coming from. ( I hope)
Stephen Hembree I understand man 😥
Stephen Hembree Who the fuck dislikes this concert? 99 perfect have said this is one of nirvanas best gigs.
Lee McQueen I'm not sure who they are but there are 128 of them for certain....No, i really didn't mean dislike. I love this Concert. It's not my favorite Nirvana concert but they're all fuckin amazing. Without this concert we wouldn't have imo the best live version of Lounge Act. I like it much better than the studio version. My favorite is at the Paramount.
Stephen Hembree 152 people on a UA-cam video is not a lot of people. Stop trying to make yourself feel special.
John Jacob Jingleheimerschmidt Yessir. I'm on it sir.
Always loved this song, it's perfect.
Kurt's genius is some piety from past lives, so the level of Nirvana cannot be repeated, just like other great groups. Great music cannot be compiled mechanically from a set of some terms; it, like beautiful flowers, always arises unexpectedly where it was not expected.
Technically, many can play the same way as Nirvana, but almost no one is able to compose and perform such songs. They are both melodic and powerful in presentation and filled with great sadness. Another distinguishing feature of great talent, when he plays, it is clear that he is completely immersed in music, he does not think about himself or the public. It is impossible to learn this self-forgetfulness, this is talent, it either exists or does not exist.
Such a happy vibe with this tune. Such a sad ending. 😥
I miss this type of talent, are we devolving?
Yes.
This crisis Will reach us to another kind of talent
Yep
In the worst way possible.
This was the performance that made me like nirvana
That Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion pedal gnarl, Yeah I'm a total nerd for guitar gear and that pedal is THE live nirvana distortion.
