I too loved the live version. But people have to understand this lad is a musician and not a karaoke star. As an actual musician he can adapt, change and create. This shows a very smooth, relaxed and restrained side to his talent. If he picks his songs wisely he could be terrific. I would love to hear his take on some of the less known Pete Townshend stuff like "No Road Romance" or the Beautiful "Brooklyn Kids" or maybe some Donny Hathaway covers would be nice. Hopefully he will take good advice and hook up with some great song writers who will give his voice and musicality the vehicle it deserves.

I know nobody is every supposed to say anything bad about Prince, and I won't, he was a talent like we will never see again. I just happened to land on this page b/c I was looking something up. Purple Rain was never one of my favorite songs and I only like covers when then stand on their own and not be like an imitation of the original. Then there's Jolan. I have never fully understood this song until just this minute and I from the first few bars Jolan gave me goosebumps that were playing king of the hill on top of my other goosebumps. Best cover I've heard this year, or maybe ever. Wow.

Very nice rendition. Most people try and 'sing' the song and it mostly doesn't work. You have to feel, you have to emote.... so good job. 1985's Syracuse concert rendition is the song I've listened to most often in my life. Good job.
