to be fair there is sometimes something deeply unseltting about AI images especially when you let the ai create something itself just look at the loab phenomenon
Back in the day, I used to see a lot of "fake" trailers for forthcoming films. Now, some of these were fan-made, showing what they would like to see in the film. Take for example when _The Avenger_ was announced. I saw a fan-trailer made up of clips from _Iron Man, The X-Men, Daredevil_ and _Spider-Man_ edited together. That was fine, but on occasion you'd see a fake trailer made just for clicks the makers of which would insist was genuine. Recently, I did a bit of a search on UA-cam for the comic-con trailer for Marvel's new _Fantastic Four_ film. The first one that looked like it was the trailer and not just a pundit discussing it looked quite convincing at first glance. However, I soon realised that it was AI. They had took still images of Pedro Pascal et al and used AI to give them movement. In my defence, I had seen vids discussing the real trailer and from what I could see the maker of the fake appropriated stuff that was mentioned, specific scenes like Reed in a classroom and quotes from the trailer. It was also done in such a way, quick cuts _like_ a real trailer, that one didn't have time to linger on the images.
Monsters that aren't already in your bed tend to have enough manners to understand the etiquette of leaving you alone once you get into bed, it's like sacred ground and such, once the sanctity of it is defiled it's free for the taking :p
What would make the kayaking/giant person in sea one infinitely more scary is to just have the paddle slip from their grasp. No giant monster man needed. Being stranded in a kayak at sea is terrifying already, but with your only form of locomotion drifting further and further away from you as you desperately try to reach it using only your hands to try and paddle towards it is so much worse.
Week ago i had to put down my 2 years old kitty. All that time i was watching only your videos and you were the first and only person that made me genuinely smile for the first time in this week. Thank you, Greg

the water one reminds me of the godzilla meme going around rn where they try n rationalize how he’s able to stand in the ocean so they make his legs long 😭
The thing that always takes me out of these "giant person in the water" videos are that the proportions are all wrong. Its the middle of the ocean (why are they in a kayak in the middle of the ocean, by the way?). They would have to be waaaaaaaaay bigger to be able to stand upright at that point.

The father, smiling goes and checks. Under the bed is his adorable little son who says "someone's in my closet"

A father returns home and finds his baby crying in the crib. There is no sign of his wife. He cuddles the baby to comfort it and then hears the front door opening. It's his wife returning.
He confronts her "Where have you been?" he asks angrily "how could you leave our son alone?"

IMO, the original is more chilling. One _knows_ that one of the children is a shape-shifter, doppelganger, changeling, but _which?_ What do you do in that situation?
The one in which the baby turns into a monster loses that ambiguity. It's as if the makers saw the original video and thought that it needed a monster to be _really_ scary, but ended up "over-egging the pudding" and missing the point.
