I'm from DC, and whenever I'm bored or miss my family from Cali, I like to watch videos about driving to or through different parts of California. I got family both out in Pasadena and Thousand Oaks. One day I want to drive from DC to California.
The Arroyo Seco Parkway, once known as the Pasadena Freeway was the first portion of the vast Southern California freeway network to be constructed. According to Wikipedia it was opened in 1940 (the same year that the Pennsylvania Turnpike from Carlisle to Irwin opened). The turns are sharper than on modern freeways and there is limited space for acceleration or deceleration at the exits. I enjoyed seeing the classic freeway architecture. While it is outdated it is much more attractive than the modern architecture.
im from liverpool england and one day i will visit Pasadena...and why...cause im a massive fan of the big bang theory....sad i know...lol....by the way that must be the most hypnotic bass line i have ever heard
I enjoy this drive as well. Many years of driving this freeway. Now I live in NY and there similarities in the architecture of the highways here in areas. It is very interesting and exciting. Thanks for sharing!
Brilliant video - absolutely brilliant. I love driving and this video has such a hypnotic affect like staring in an aquarium. Great music too. What's the song and who's the artist?
For me this will always be the Pasadena Freeway. I don't care if they changed the name. It goes to Pasadena end of story. This road is old fashioned as can be, which makes it a fun drive. You missed the wonderful tunnels near Downtown LA.
As a longtime Pasadena resident, I am very familiar with this drive. Thank you for the video.
You are very welcome!!!

why? :)
@@sonicjet7759 Just a game I would play by myself. I was always kind of a weird kid lol
@@Caliknowzbest4u lol my dad and me would play a game where he would hold the horn and make it honk and echo during each tunnel, kind of similar haha
