- Hi I've been playing a lot of Marvel Rivals and really enjoying it! After editing I feel like maybe I didn't go over the positives enough, but I am REALLY liking the game and see myself sinking hundreds of hours into it. The artwork, animation, and combat all feel amazing to me and with a bit more polish, I think this game could really be a homerun. But yeah, been playing and hope to play a lot more with Cozy & friends!

I don't think they Hate the game, but the Studios backing it. Netease has a track record isn't Too great when it comes to Playing.

I think I understand why they don't want any criticism/comparisons to be made from the content creators.
The publisher of Marvel Rivals is NetEase, the same chinese company that for years partnered with Blizzard to distribute WoW, SC and OW in China. This partnership ended in January 2023, leaving mainland chinese players unable to play on local servers.
This can only mean to me that the similarities between the games are intended, almost like it's gonna play the role of a "OW substitute" for China's playerbase.
And of course comparing these two products would be bad rep for NetEase, "copying" a game that they had to pay a license to distribute
Do you know the difference between copying and inspiration? This game a TPS game, there are structures that can be destroyed and renewed in this game, there are synergies between the characters in this game. Can you tell me what this game needs to have in order for you not to call it a copy?
@@aquadactyl136 have you taken a look at the menus (notably the Stats page or the one that comes up as a tutorial for each hero), the icons for the abilities and the overall aestethics/design (maps, character icons, even most abilities)
I'm all for taking inspiration but some things are 1:1 copied and it feels cheap. It would be sad for this concept to become a mere cashgrab, that is all

bro i'm big into marvel and this is definitely a copy of overwatch and not just an inspiration. The difference simply isn't drastic enough to say it was "just inspired" by overwatch. Doesn't stop the fact that i'm genuinely hyped for the game but it is what it is.
While not perfect, the game has been a ton of fun for me personally
How do I play it?
This game is fun, but there are a few issues that really stand out. They'll add more flyers, and they have characters that can't really interact with them.

The contract aside, as well as the _alleged_ investigations internally that are looking into said contract supposedly not actually meant to have that "no criticism" thing (which I'm skeptical but open minded about), the game has a lot of potential and already seems really fun. There's a couple of problems here and there, but those can be fixed later. This is, after all, just the beta. What game doesn't have issues when it's starting out? Remember when Bastion had a Brig-like shield while in turret form?
I am skeptical because Netease is involved, but I'm also trying to keep an open mind, partly because I feel like some folks within Marvel games has to have seen the failure of the Avengers game and think "We need to redeem ourselves for our multiplayer audience, we can't mess this up!"
But also because I genuinely hope this game can succeed. It doesn't have to be "High level and high paying Esports" level of success but enough that it will have a consistent and large amount of players playing every week and gets enough updates to satisfy a majority of it's player base
But that's me trying to be optimistic because I love Marvel characters
they just shot theirselves with that contract, but good thing is they didnt force it on everyone on the CAT - its a very good game and fun
Thankfully, that contract clause is getting revised and creators are being unbanned. That kind of response and transparency is honestly refreshing to see

You guys do realise that nearly every company have NDAs that don't allow you to full on review the game. This clause was to stop clickbait content farmers from calling it an Overwatch clone, killing the game on arrival.

Still haven’t gotten a alpha code but from the gameplay it looks fun and I’m hoping they have a release date out after the alpha is over
I think the presentation and art style is really cool. If the game remains not P2W and if the devs can balance the characters a bit better, I would say this game's got a chance to attract lots of new players or even OW2 players who are looking for something fresh.
Yeah I think even if the game is decent it’s taking a chunk of overwatch players with how blizzard treats them. I have high hopes the more I find out about the game and it’s only an alpha
p2w in an arena shooters .. didnt see it though not once ... Even in ow2 they locked a hero behind paywall ... even if the hero is broken as f ... doest change anything .. people are going crazy wit the p2w bullshit

if this captures the magic of OG OW1 when that first came out i am all for it. these day OW2 doesnt feel like it has the same fun factor anymore it just feels toxic...
I think the ults carrying over adds a whole new layer of complexity to the game like in overwatch you just ult dump last fight but in this game you still have to worry about your teams ult economy because if you over ult you will get rolled the begining of the next round.

I've been enjoying snap as my phone game as someone who has never really been into the marvel scene but I'm about 90% sure i would rather pull my hair out than play another arena shooter
Im a little concerned about character unlocks with the current hero balance in the heroes menu it lets you toggle unlocked but they’re all unlocked for the alpha
some nerfs and buffs i think that is needed
scarlet with ultimate nerf, its basically a bomb in an area which practically one shots everyone and is very op
nerf damage of starlord but keep shooting speed same
peni parker definetly needs a buff
punsher is balanced ig but his shotgun is just crazy good
characters like black panther and namor need some advantage over others cause specially black panther cant hit flying targets at all and his attacks based upon hitting the spear first
most support are completely balanced but expected rocket racoon to have more damage based on his marvel character like explosives grenades or anything
Magneto definely needs an ult buff , his ult hardly does any damage, the prob is some characters ults r like super op and then their is magneto and black panther so yeah

People saying its a clone of overwatch powers when the powers are literally just "aoe shots" is ridiculous.
Zarya gives people shields = anyone who gives shields is zarya clone
Man has shield = either rein or sigma
Duel pistols = tracer.
Like are these powers so unique that they cant be used ever again otherwise its a clone?
The game is really fun, but do not stay optimistic.
The reality is: they’re the same creators of Diablo-Immortal (or at least they helped with the development). So I’m just praying that I can play the game before they screw it up.

My biggest issue so far would be that I'm not a huge Fan of 3rd person pvp shooters despite it making so much sense here
In my opinion Iron Man and Namor need to be buffed in the game Iron Man needs double health and damage also faster flight speed Namor needs to be able to fly im disappointed he can only hover in the game he also needs his bubble ability reworked like maybe after you use it you get triple health and damage for him

If they listen to the community and reward the player base well and bring good heroes, they will 100% surpass OW2

This game seems really interesting, hopefully the don’t just copy + paste Overwatch because I would just prefer a new unique game. Unfortunately a lot of the abilities I have seen so far is just straight up rip-offs lol. But I still have hope
Overwatch does not own abilities like roots wall is like meis but other games can have walls that you can put to defend your team

I hope it would come to PS4 but I feel like it would struggle with the action and the SEAMLESS portals
If they dont launch this game simultaneously on consoles and PC, then i expect it will die. A game like this needs to feed off of the casual console playerbase to compete. If it does launch day 1 on console, I think it will succeed off of casual console players alone due to the Marvel IP. Especially if the gameplay is solid.
I hate Overwatch and the direction they went , the game just became less fun. I’m glad this is coming out so I can get into this genre of game again

Can someone help explain what's so different about the NDA that people are signing with this game from other ndas when a new game comes out because it seems fairly normal practice to have a stipulation that stops you from critiquing the game in a disparaging way. The whole "this game is gonna be ruined by microtransations" is ridiculous to me, the game is gonna be free to play so whats the issue with microtransactions. The only issue i could see is if the hero's are paid for but even then that isnt a big issue depending on price.
It matters if they have engineered legendary gems system to a overwatch esque game and paying for each time you play a mode to gain loot which is only playtime of 15 mins. .... If not maybe netease knew that Dimmortal was lightning in a bottle and can't be replicated

It looks clunky as all hell, I miss quake. Watched about 7 characters and I just don't think this is a good fps. But ppl who like it seems to like it a lot. I think it says more about love of superheroes than this being any good

It definitely looks like worse Overwatch, but that's kinda to be expected. You can't just roll in with a new game that will measure up to one that's had significantly more years of development. It'll definitely catch the attention of the huge group of gamers that like/liked Overwatch but need something just a little different to liven things up. The question will be can they retain the audience, or will they ruin their one big shot with poor balance or monetization.
Um actually 🤓 overwatch devs don't listen their players and they greedly monetize their game they also cant balance their heroes. But their game still alive. So you are wrong. And are you from Earth or you playing Overwatch since yesterday?

Fans are fickle and once they replace you they replace you for good. It's why dera kinda took over the #1 streamer spot already. Now putting rivals content on your snap channel.
