Hi I got a message from you on a video I commented on 3 years that I won a prize. The part that’s strange is it was sent yesterday. Wants me to reply via “Telegram” just seems odd, wanted to confirm here that it’s legit.
Billy, terrific tutorial. But.....you neglected to disclose, from the two hyperlapse videos you showed, the interval, drone speed and shutter speed, otherwise there is no way to reference any of the rest of your tutorial for creating our own without us going out and up with the drone and making multiple flights with different settings. Your tutorial is suppose to eliminate that and use your info. We need to understand by referencing YOUR SETTINGS to understand a starting point.
I’m working on a hyper lapse video now. One suggestion I have is when you have your Waypoints set, I always put my drone into sport mode and fly back to the area of the first waypoint. If you let the drone fly back to that point on it’s own, it will take it’s time and ultimately eat up more battery. The alternative to this suggestion is have the drone begin at the last waypoint you have set and fly the hyper lapse in reverse so the drone is closer to the Home Point when the battery gets low. I haven’t tried course lock yet. I’ll have to give that a try next time. I’ve been using a 2S interval. What is a good interval to use to really have the cars flying by preferably during a night flight?
Love your videos if for no other reason, your fast speech takes me back home (Trenton, NJ). Admittedly you'd drive a native Californian (where I now live) crazy. Despite the 55 years since I left the Delaware Valley, it's great to hear speech in a tempo and volume I can more easily follow!
Excellent video with valuable information. I watched 5 videos on hyperlaspe and unfortunately I should have watched yours first and skipped the others. I really appreciate when creators put in the time to learn and experiment with what they are teaching and pass on knowledge and valuable tips. Far too many videos get published where the creator is using it for the first time while recording the video.
Billy, Awesome video. I learned a lot. Quick question. How to save waypoints when creating a flight path before you change the battery and return back to the path and execute? Thanks
Hi Billy, Thank you for the great video! Excellent information and tips on Hyperlaps! WRT the Waypoint Hyperlaps option, have you addressed the issue of the app not remembering the Height of the waypoints to DJI? It may be a bug that they are not aware of and no one has yet been addressed by anyone!
You can actually adjust the altitude, gimbal, and even the course slightly in course lock mode by using the controls during flight but important to be gentle, smooth, and steady or else the resulting video can look jumpy
With my mini 4, I can setup the waypoints from my home, without the drone, on a google maps map. start the remote -> right botttom corner: Connection guide -> right upper corner: Camera view. The Waypoints button is available.
I think your disappointment in altitude is by design. The drone's altitude reading is above ground level. so if you have a waypoint that measures 150m, if you select that way point from the ground and have the drone go fly it, it will measure 150m from where it took off, which may be 10m higher than the location of your 150m waypoint.
I like course lock as well, I haven’t tried waypoint yet, so thanks for heads up about the height issue. Great tutorial, and thanks for editing tips as well. Thanks for sharing.
Pretty good video but the toughest part of learning this stuff is learning to navigate through the menus. Almost all UA-camrs just flash from screen to screen. I would like to see more attention to allowing me to see the sequence of screens I have to go through to get to the feature I want to reach. Otherwise, I appreciate the way you covered all the options
Great content as always Billy! My wish would be upgraded batteries for the air 2s, also looking to add the DJI RC once it’s compatible with the air 2s, pretty disappointing a flagship iPhone 13 pro max is useless because of dimming issues in hot weather.
The tri directional avoidance system is sweet, but with active track its odd that dji missed sensors for sidewards movement considering this was a new feature. Just my thought.
Great video Billy. Very logical way of explanation. Here a year later, has DJI done any updates regarding Course Lock raising or lowering altitude or Waypoints remembering heights, or other help? New sub from the PNW.
Thanks for the great video. So can you explain how to get the drone back? How do you know when it is done? What happens if battery life is low and it's still not done? Sorry, that part is not obvious to me.
I have that same issue with the altitude and waypoints on my Mavic 3. I even try to launch from the same spot because the altitude it reports is relative to the launch point. No dice. It is still off by a ton.
Is it true that when you use the longer lasting battery that comes with the Fly More combo, it will make the Mini 3 Pro to be over the weight limit and you will have to have it registered?
Billy - Great video, thanks! Thanks especially for the altitude warning. That triggered me to do a test flight, designing a flight plan with different altitudes at each waypoint. Though the Mini 3 Pro was at the correct altitude on the waypoints themselves, it wandered up and down to potentially dangerous levels. None of the waypoints was below 150', but the flight log shows that at one point it descended to 106'. I was ready to terminate the flight, but it climbed back up to safer air. It also deviated on the high side. I hope DJI will correct this flaw!
Thank you very much for enlightening me with this video. I did enjoy just one thing could you just slow down a little next time. I found ive had to watch it over a few times as you seem to talk quickly.
Billy, there is a scammer responding to people leaving a comment's saying you've won 2 mini 3 drones and wanting delivery payment in advance. I can forward details
I swear I heard sub-$250 GRAND drone the first three times. 🤣🤦♂ Living in the states, I forget about the weight restrictions.... Just got a mini 3 pro last night and can't wait to do a hyperlapse!!
Great Video Billy, but I thought i was watching another hyperlapse! How do you breathe? Everything seemed so fast when you talked. I had to go back a few times just to take it all in. Sorry for the comment, keep up the good work and I like your work.
Thanks for describing the fact. That altitude cannot be key framed, into any of the moves? That's kind of a dealbreaker. But for an entry-level drone? I guess you can't have everything. Perhaps a feature available in the, premium priced fare category? One might hope? I do love those, Hyper Lapses. People tell me I frequently have, lapses. But I've never had a Hyper lapse, before. I don't think? I can't remember? Maybe I was asleep? As a videographer. I'm very appreciative as to your explanations. How to do that fabulous looking kind of shooting. Where time stands still at hyperspeed. That is just so cool looking. Who doesn't love that time-lapse stuff? I like shooting a lot of SloMo. So, 120 and 240 FPS a, plus. 60 FPS doesn't do much for me. I mean it's better than nothing. No I don't possess anything that will do that, yet. I'm just an accomplished, photographer/videographer/cinematographer. And 20 years with NBC-TV as a Senior Engineer. And you get to know what you need and want. And how it must look and sound. And so I think somebody needs to come up with some, fast drone passed by's. To use as a sound effect insert. Like the, Woooshing. For the Starship Enterprise. And so on those cut edits. It quickly zooms by. In 1-2-3 second durations. It would be awesome! A little more of that, Network Television, background I had for my career. I mean where are the sound effects? These things don't have onboard sound recorders, you know. So we have to manufacture the sounds. For Wide Screen, reproduction. It's really not hard when you get the cartoon sound effects package. And also making your own, Crashing, sound effects. That's even more fun. Especially with the sound of, screeching tires and glass breaking. Which I was known to play on the air at NBC-TV in Washington DC. The morning Princess Diana died. Don't tell Billy or Harry I did that. They were just little kids. Everybody got really upset over that. All I did was play the sound effect we didn't have to go with the still pictures. Good thing I was a union engineer. Otherwise that would have been my last broadcast. For that one little whoops. Just trying to add sound where there was none as the audio engineer. I mean what else was I supposed to do? Just sit there? They were paying me to do audio. So I give them extra audio. From our digital sound effects system. Yes way back then. At my fingertips in my control room. At NBC-TV. It's very funny and it's true. But they only heard that at NBC-London. It didn't really go on the air I don't think? But some British guy has a copy of that. That worked for NBC News London. Because I know they recorded it. From my NBC-TV control room to theirs. And it might surface one day? And everyone will wonder what kind of horrible person inserted the car crash sound effects? It was me. I probably shouldn't have smoked a joint at the commercial break. And I was a lot younger. I wouldn't do that today.. And of course there are, Firmware Updates, to come. They already know what their altitude is. Now it's how to write the code. To program your altitudes during a preprogrammed, waypoint shot. That's the missing piece to the puzzle of, that recipe. Preprogrammed altitude selection. In a waypoint move. Now that would give you another Vista altogether. To repeat the same move. At different times of the day or night. And the shots would overlay and match. To, cut, dissolve, fade, to another. And to be able to repeat those shots. By saving them in memory. Even after changing out batteries. Repeatable computer programmed shots. With varying altitudes. And it's not there yet. I've been waiting. Before I purchase my first real, Cinematic quality shooting drone. To enjoy, using in my retirement. And perhaps supplementing my income a bit. Since I really can't make the, ROCK 'N' ROLL VIDEO RECORDINGS. I used to make. Four to 6 or more cameras gets to be a bit much. It would be more fun to play with the drone and feel, senile! Yeah doggy! Woo hoo! Am I going to have a heart attack? I sure hope so! Then when I draw from a cardiac arrest. Wherever the drone is? It'll just hover for a while. Then it will come back to find me dead. How cool is that! And it would all be on video! Awesome! I want one! Drone like that! I have to learn how to drone better. (cough) mememe… Aum Aum Aum. How's that? RamyRAD
As a Mini 3 Pro newbie, I found the video interesting but your references to the controller settings were too brief. I had to keep stopping the video to see what you were selecting. Otherwise, I found the information very useful.
I saved a mission. Then I switched batteries and load the mission but it doesn't fly the exact route it's way higher (almost 5meters)than before as I saved the mission. What could that cause?
While recording a waypoint hyperlapse, if in any in between waypoint is set with camera pointing 90 degree down, my Mini 3 Pro is getting stuck there and keeps on taking photos at same point instead of rebounding the camera up to continue the remaining way points - Did you try this or faced this issue ?
Hey! Great video! Question, is there a setting to turn off the creation of the automatic videos when shooting hyperlapses, so you only get the raw pictures? The automatic rendering at the end of hyperlapses causes a delay to start a new hyperlapse waypoint mission in reverse
I like a good hyperlapse but in truth they're kinda complicated to create! To be fair though, the whole activity is a lot easier on my Mini 3 Pro this time!
felt like you skipped over a lot of stuff for this to be a "Full" tutorial ....example ............ how did you get the drone to repeat the course you created via way point once you land? is there a option to save the flight path? if so where , how? " what exactly did you push? ....what is the camera rotation angle that keeps showing up when you are setting up the way points??
ok i thought it wasnt working, but i also tried to adjust the camera while flying and it didnt seem like it as doing anything? is it the lag that caused me to not see the effects of my joystick control?
Hi Billy, quick question when I record video I save in MOV but when the drone does a hyperlapse the drone saves in MP4, is there any way to change this to MOV? TIA
Once I hit lock, I then rotate the camera to face a building and create a side to side hyperlapse. However, my drone will just move forward when I'm using course lock. There is no line on the map on my drone controller.
I dont get the love for hyperlapse vids tbh. Its kinda cool the first time you see it but after that ive got no interest in it. Good old fashioned video and pics for me🙂, simplicity is making me think the mini 3 base model will suit me better. The last dozen or so flights with my mini 2 i havnt even snapped a pic of video. Just love explorering around checking stuff out.😂
How to turn off the fuckin obstacle avoidance in hyperlapse waypoint Mission? It always stops or doesn't even start the mission because it detects something, but there are no obstacles in a 10m radius
Battery life isn't that good tbh. They're great drones. But the theory I've heard to be true is whatever they say the battery lasts. Divide it by 2 and add 6. So they say 34 mins. Which is wrong. 34 divided by 2 is 17 plus 6 is 23 mins. That's about how long it lasts. About 19. 20 in high winds
This is the first video shot in the new studio! Still tweaking some things, like audio, so bear with me over the next few uploads!
Congrats on the new studio! Make that money, Billy!!

Thanks for getting down to the nitty gritty of the process! It's always fun creating hyperlapses on the Mini 3 Pro more so when its on portrait mode

Excellent Tutorial Video On Hyperlapse! Thank You Billy.
I’ve been watching your channel for a while Billy I think you do an awesome job!
Thank you.
Where do people like Billy come from? This is a very thoughtful and generous instructional video, plus plus. Thank you!
thank you, was just trying this last night.
Hey Billy, after watching this tutorial, I captured circle and course lock videos of church construction site! Great results
Awesome! I bet it looks great.
Ok nice hyper lapse of downtown Baltimore 👏🏾
THANK YOU FOR - AWESOME VIDEO
Well done Bill. I really like that Courselock. Loved the information. Thanks for sharing.
great info Billy for hyperlapse great area to fly as always great stuff buddy
The New studiio is doing well Billy, thanks for the info...

thats the best hyperlapse tutorial i saw ... please make day to night transition hyperlapse using saved waypoints
With my mini 4, I can setup the waypoints from my home, without the drone, on a google maps map.

The Mini 3 Pro has one of the most customizable settings and lots of intelligent modes for their hyperlapse!
I have that same issue with the altitude and waypoints on my Mavic 3. I even try to launch from the same spot because the altitude it reports is relative to the launch point. No dice. It is still off by a ton.
Same here on mini 3 pro. It's so useless to safe a mission to fly it with fresh battery or different time if the hight is off 5-10 meters 😑
same on my Mini 4 pro. WP at 55m and drone diving RAPIDLY so had to stop it at 10m !! CRAZY

Hello, yesterday I updated DJI Fly app and found that it is impossible to shot hyperlapses. A maximum distance error appears. Mini 3 pro.
So how does waypoints work now after updating? Has it improved? Thinking about you flight height.
Hi. Im trying to figure out where the option is to save all the raw files. Its just spitting out the movie. Thanks.
Great tutorial, however I'm still missing how you set a course lock. Is the course distance predetermined or can I decide and set the distance?
Hi! I really appreciate your work. Could you tell me how did you learn to use or to work in lightroom and final cut pro?
HI BILLY HOW ABOUT COMPARING THE 1080P 4 X ZOOM TO THE MINI2 THE MINI2 LOOKS WAY BETTER.
Great video i cant find the raw photos on my card anywhere specific i should check ?
Was the pressure changes or weather systems moving around? This could change your indicated altitude
Thanks once again. 😀(quick question) Best place to sell used drones?
Just my mini 3 pro and dying to try this feature out. One question. Can I plan the waypoints in S mode and then switch to C mode to run it?
Spiràl would be good. There is a Helix option, yes?
Congratulations I have some packages for you.....🎁🎁🎁
Great video
Congratulations I have some packages for you.....🎁🎁🎁
Hi Billy great content from you again......Any response from DJI on the waypoint height issue that you mention?
Nice, thx!
@TELEGRAM ME Billy_Kyle001 Excellent! Tell me where you live and I will drop by with 10 or 12 of my cousins to pick it up.
Nice video
Congratulations I have some packages for you.....🎁🎁🎁
@billy Kyle is this giveaway account is yours? Or someone fake?
It really mine
But be careful some are fake
As a Mini 3 Pro newbie, I found the video interesting but your references to the controller settings were too brief. I had to keep stopping the video to see what you were selecting. Otherwise, I found the information very useful.
Can you make a hyperlapse that is several miles long and how would you do it? For instance the main strip of a city. Thanks.
Maybe in Waypoints mode height is not accurate because you are flying over water? @billyKyle
Good Bro
I saved a mission. Then I switched batteries and load the mission but it doesn't fly the exact route it's way higher (almost 5meters)than before as I saved the mission. What could that cause?
Thanks
I just did my first waypoints mission. All i see on the SD card is the video and no photos. Did I set it up wrong?
While recording a waypoint hyperlapse, if in any in between waypoint is set with camera pointing 90 degree down, my Mini 3 Pro is getting stuck there and keeps on taking photos at same point instead of rebounding the camera up to continue the remaining way points - Did you try this or faced this issue ?
Hey! Great video! Question, is there a setting to turn off the creation of the automatic videos when shooting hyperlapses, so you only get the raw pictures? The automatic rendering at the end of hyperlapses causes a delay to start a new hyperlapse waypoint mission in reverse

Hey Bro. Me and a few others have gotten a invite to "your telegram" saying we won Mavic mini Pro? This is crap right?
I seem to remember my Mavic 2 zoom also had hyperlapse, not just the pro.
Yup both drones did
Couldn't you make the video from the RAW unedited images and export the video in RAW format so you could then edit it with keyframes and stabilize it.
Congratulations I have some packages for you.....🎁🎁🎁
what do you think about this that when you record video or take photos, the signal light is off ?

How to turn off the fuckin obstacle avoidance in hyperlapse waypoint Mission? It always stops or doesn't even start the mission because it detects something, but there are no obstacles in a 10m radius

How do you save the missions and re use them
Waypoints.
Take a deep breath man
Battery life isn't that good tbh.
Your making it very difficult for me to NOT buy the Mini 3.
