If people wouldn’t build their houses right on the beach. Which actually they didn’t do before the late 70’s and federal flood insurance. I remember how in kitty hawk the houses on stilts appeared by the thousands like mushrooms in the space of a couple of years.
@@driverjeff1498 yes my brother used to live there. Kitty Hawk/ Nags Head. Those beaches are a bit different due to the barrier islands. Jockeys Ridge is not as big as it used to be. The Cape Hatteras Light House has to be moved yet again due to erosion. They last moved it almost 30 years ago.
That's great news. The faster the ocean reclaims that coastline the better

The place that the Wright brothers flew on the beach is now about 1/4 mile inland

They didn’t fly on the beach, they flew at kill devil hills, which has been the same distance from the beach for at least 50 years.
