This has got to be the most realistic analogue horror ever like it looks and feels like it was actually recorded with a VHS and it even looks like it was made in the 1980s!!! Kudos!!!
The Magic Mushroom was a diffuser by Airwick. It had Earthy scents, mainly Pine Meadows, and was shaped like a mushroom so it was "inconspicuous" to guests. As inconspicuous as a giant plastic mushroom that spurts out overly fragranced water every 30 seconds can be.
I honestly don’t get what about this is “horror”…. It honestly just reminds me of a compilation of old ads. I expected graphic or distorted imagery, sound distorting or cutting out, glitching, or literally anything else horror but it just never happened. But I’m not gonna lie, the Butter Buds sprinkles sounded pretty good!
Yeah, I get this comment a lot below this video. Basically, this isn't meant to be anything more then literally an "Ad Break" from the previous videos of the series. (Also I agree with the one of the replies here, I focus more on the atmospheric side of the genre then the usual cheap jumpscare stuff)
I remember this stuff. My grandma had some. She had problems throwing away self stable foods. So there was stuff left over from the 80s in her pantry. Alot of 'this will be healthier for you' stuff like this was there.
At first I was INCREDIBLY impressed with this, the ads are so authentic! The thing is, I don't really feel the analogue horror vibe. Non of the ads were unusual in any way, and there was only a couple lines of text at the end. Didn't give me the creeps at all
Yeah, this video was not meant to be what it became. It is really just an "Ad Break" from the previous videos. The ending have some deeper meaning just when seen relatively as a part of the whole series.
@@safesecureinc.8392 ooo, that's interesting! I was thinking that there would be some hidden lore behind this, given how well it was made. That's a really interesting and original idea! :)))
im pretty sure all of the ads are ripped... i dont know how this could be more high quality than the mandela catalogue at all, since its just ripped ads with text at the end. am i missing something?
I don't understand how this is horror. Okay, I will admit. The effects are STUNNING! These look like genuine commercials. But that's the problem, they are too genuine. They just look like regular 80s commercials and for me there's nothing creepy about them. If you aimed to just produce "80s commercials recreation" then yeah, this is good. But I don't get how this is analog horror. Still though, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
Yeah well, this video got misunderstood. It was supposed to be, literally, just an "Ad Break" from the climax at the end of the First Act, like I wrote as a reply to other comment on this video.
Seeing the series as a whole so far coupled with the words at the end, my take on this is that all the people in the ads (which are real ads from the time period btw) look happy. But that is all they are, ads, and they are fake. Fake happiness, fake smiles, people pretending things make them happy, but true happiness doesnt come from things, or outside of oneself.
Since these weren't a horror ads, I just improvise some of them with my imagination: Ad 1: The effects are so strong that the user can't sleep again Ad 2: The products can cover a rotting corpse stench with its aroma
This is decent but using so much content from the era that isn’t yours I find a bit lazy. Why not try and actually make some of these commercials yourself next time?
@@noimnot8actually I can understand that, it just feels weird calling this analog horror when more than 80% of the content is just old commercials from the era
I actually agree with you on this one. This video wasn't even supposed to be something that it has become (it basically blew up relatively to my other videos), it was supposed to be just a break and something unrelated to everything else in the series after the climax of the first act. Thanks for writing this comment.

Same. I'm trying to figure out where the horror is ...
This is probably what analog horror is. It's the atmosphere and not the jumpscares
It is a compilation of old ads. The safe and secure ad in the middle is the original work.

Why hasn't this blown up yet? Analog horror fandom, where are you guys, and how haven't you found this masterpiece yet?
Because there was nothing scary about this video
"They are all happy, why aren't you?"
Nigga I came here to be scared not to be reminded of my depression 😭
2:38 Easy, Depression.
🥲🙂👍
Bipolar depression
This. It is not cheap scares, it is lingering anxiety throughout the whole thing. This is great
this is so preposterously authentic. i cant imagine how much fun it was to act and record in these
Ok, all joking aside, the fake butter is legitimately horrifying!
