Thats how we felt.. we lost our Rottweiler 4 years ago in November after 8 years together, it was heartbreaking she was my whole world. 2 weeks later we contacted a small struggling shelter and adopted a black lab who had been tossed after being a pet store gift to someone who didn't want a dog to the person who bought her and then turned her in to the shelter. Black labs are hard to get adopted often looked over because they are black so anyways fast forward 4 years later to another one who is my whole world along with our other 4 dogs. I could never foster I love them too much but so glad there are people out there strong enough to say goodbye. I hope they kept this precious guy. Anna In Ohio

My parents just lost their dog - we had two dogs out of our five - and they were having fights, big ones and I had been hurt - but they said - no... its too soon no WAY!! can we take him. We brought him for the weekend, he stayed and they have fallen in love.... sooo I REALLY hope.... they see the light and know this dog... is meant for them...

It’s time to stop making animal shelters look like Alcatraz. A dark, damp, loud, chaotic, prison-like environment is designed for a criminals punishment, not innocent animals in need. I know money is extremely tight at shelters but a fundraiser with the community to improve the interior and make it less scary and loud would likely be successful. If they’ve ever been to a “pound” they understand how depressing they can be just to walk through. We can do better for these sweet creatures.

I hope he's a foster fail, he's so loved and settled. I took in a dog that had been abandoned at 6 months old and spent over a year in kennels. He was starting to self harm and the rescue was desperate for a foster home for him. He was so scared and nervous when he arrived, but over the next few months he blossomed into a gentle friendly giant. All he wanted was fuss, walkies and to play. A year later nobody had come forward to adopt him and I took one look at him and said "Well mate, looks like we are stuck with each other" and he woofed at me and wagged his tail. I adopted him and 4 years later he's just so comfortable and happy. He loves my old girl who treats him like her puppy, and he is permanently attached to my other dog and they are best mates. I never wanted three, but sometimes the universe decides you are perfect for each other.
He Needs YOU!!! Please DONT let him go!!! He’s already been through so much heartbreaking and suffering!!! He deserves the absolute most love and affection that you guys are already giving him!!! I could never give away my deaf baby. I believe it would shatter both our lives and hearts. Deaf dogs are some of the most feeling . If you can keep this deaf baby he has bonded.
What a love. People who neglect/mistreat animals are rotten to the core. And no animal should have to spend so much time in a shelter situation. Anyone who fosters is doing such great things for animals - there’s just no substitute for a home with love, outdoors, soft and clean bedding, etc, etc.
Remember that love for these souls is a revolving door. When one door closes, another automatically opens. The tragedy is not that they have short lives, the tragedy would be if they hadn't been in your life.

I'm echoing everyone else that you should keep him. This video actually mead me really cry. I get sniffly at all the videos but rarely cry. I cried that someone would be so awful to neglect any living creature like he was then cried tears of joy seeing him well fed with his own blankies. Your voice at the end really made me ugly cry. You know I lost my French bulldog of 9 years and God brought me another dog of course rural can't replace lucky but I know that there was a reason for Lucky going to heaven He had to leave because it was time but also because rural needed a new place to stay. Pound dogs are so misunderstood so much. If I were stuck in a pound, no one would probably want to adopt me either. They aren’t their true self in a pound. I’ve had two deaf dogs. One was also mostly blind, older. They are just as beautiful as any dog.💚🌞💚

Thus makes me so sad. Any animal is going to act or act out a certain way because of the humans that are supposed to care for them . I personally have always hated the saying, "they are just animals ", so therefore they have less meaning. They are living creatures and deserve live and attention.
The neighbors who complained, not because he was clearly being mistreated, but because he “was the meanest dog next door who was barking all the time” should be fined for failing to report a crime (animal cruelty IS still a crime, isn’t it?!?)!
Omg I was in tears. I’ve always wanted to foster. At the time I had 2 dogs. We took one in last April when the shelters were full and they were allowing 10 days staycations to give dogs a break from shelter life. She bonded so fast with our big dog and that was it, I couldn’t send her back. So now we have 3. I want to try again but I can’t end up with 4. Lol

Poor woman. You can tell she is holding back tears in her eyes when she talks about him going off to some other forever family. If she said she lost her previous dog of 12 years, why can't she keep this one? Who cares if it's a foster fail. If she loves the dog and the dog loves her, then keep the dog. Don't break your heart or the dog's heart, it's important for dogs, their home is their family i.e. the ones that they love and if the dog loves you, then he's meant to be with you.
I’m just saying, I felt this way about a foster dog we had. She was a rescue 2 pound albino chihuahua and a very sweet and special dog so I was extremely picking and took a long time finding her forever home. Well the day before her adoption I couldn’t go through with it and was an complete wreck so my husband reluctantly agreed for her to stay with us. Well I had her for several years and I have never experienced love and affection towards and from a dog ever. She absolutely worshiped me like so other person or animal ever had. When we adopted my son she became his playmate and guardian and he loved her so much. She even tried to warn us that my son was sick a week before we discovered the deadly cancer on his brain that would take his life 9 months later. She grieved him just as hard as we did I believe. She was my soul mate dog and I will miss her everyday. For the rest of my life but she is now back keeping my son entertained I’m sure of that❤

They have known the dog from the kennel for 2yrs since the volunteer there and have Fostered for 2 months ( listen at 1:46)

I can hear in your voice how much love there is for him.if at all possible he should be yours....I would think it would break his heart not to have you around as you can see how much he loves you

Pound dogs are so misunderstood so much. If I were stuck in a pound, no one would probably want to adopt me either. They aren’t their true self in a pound. I’ve had two deaf dogs. One was also mostly blind, older. They are just as beautiful as any dog.💚🌞💚
Sounds to me like he's right where he needs to be. Everything for a reason, so you just need to accept that you are each other's reason.

I just love this family who continues to provide a loving home and bond to precious Journey until his forever home/family is found .. Journey is a beautiful soul and I am so very happy he does not have to stay in that pound anymore 💞💞💞💞

Aww what a very good doggie, you can tell he just loves with his whole heart. I'm so happy he found someone to get him out of that shelter and let him snuggle up in warm blankies and roll in soft grass, every dog deserves that.

Journey spent a year and a half in the shelter. That’s unbelievable seeing how sweet he is. I hope you keep the dog. You do everything for him and he loves you so much.. He would be so confused if he had to go to a new family. You give him exactly what he needs with his special needs. He feels loved like a big spoiled baby. Other people would have to learn everything from scratch and it could go wrong.

Thus makes me so sad. Any animal is going to act or act out a certain way because of the humans that are supposed to care for them . I personally have always hated the saying, "they are just animals ", so therefore they have less meaning. They are living creatures and deserve live and attention.
The neighbors who complained, not because he was clearly being mistreated, but because he “was the meanest dog next door who was barking all the time” should be fined for failing to report a crime (animal cruelty IS still a crime, isn’t it?!?)!
Omg I was in tears. I’ve always wanted to foster. At the time I had 2 dogs. We took one in last April when the shelters were full and they were allowing 10 days staycations to give dogs a break from shelter life. She bonded so fast with our big dog and that was it, I couldn’t send her back. So now we have 3. I want to try again but I can’t end up with 4. Lol

I HOPE, upon HOPE this is a foster fail because we can hear the great love this woman has for him and Journey is in her life for a reason - to help her heal her broken heart.
Poor woman. You can tell she is holding back tears in her eyes when she talks about him going off to some other forever family. If she said she lost her previous dog of 12 years, why can't she keep this one? Who cares if it's a foster fail. If she loves the dog and the dog loves her, then keep the dog. Don't break your heart or the dog's heart, it's important for dogs, their home is their family i.e. the ones that they love and if the dog loves you, then he's meant to be with you.
I’m just saying, I felt this way about a foster dog we had. She was a rescue 2 pound albino chihuahua and a very sweet and special dog so I was extremely picking and took a long time finding her forever home. Well the day before her adoption I couldn’t go through with it and was an complete wreck so my husband reluctantly agreed for her to stay with us. Well I had her for several years and I have never experienced love and affection towards and from a dog ever. She absolutely worshiped me like so other person or animal ever had. When we adopted my son she became his playmate and guardian and he loved her so much. She even tried to warn us that my son was sick a week before we discovered the deadly cancer on his brain that would take his life 9 months later. She grieved him just as hard as we did I believe. She was my soul mate dog and I will miss her everyday. For the rest of my life but she is now back keeping my son entertained I’m sure of that❤
I don't get it why you want to give him away, he's so happy with you and really seems to fit in permanently. Hope he will stay with you after all you have achieved together with him
After all this, you couldn’t possibly change his life again! HE believes he is home. Don’t destroy that or he may think that the next home is only temporary too and that the rest of his life will be filled with different homes and people. He IS your dog
