Hi yaggy9, I have a Topaz just like yours. When a selection is made the mechanism scans, picks up the record, then immediately puts it back without playing. Do you know what causes this and how to fix it? Thank you!
typically the clutch (located back behind motor, easiest to access if you pull mechanism out from rails) is sticking and doesn't freely drop out of cam mode into the play position (center) fast enough. Needs cleaning and lubrication, there should be videos about it, it's true of all Seeburgs. Also check the mercury switch on the tone arm that indicates end-of-record, if its out of adjustment, it will instantly eject like that.

@@yaggy9 Thank you very much. I will try cleaning the clutch. I have already glued the magnet back on to the mercury switch since it had fallen off.
